Electronic whine coming from my Qtek 8500 anyone else noticed this problem.
I love the phone which I have had for a few days bu noticed something which may be normal today. When I am playing music and it stops or I stop it the I hear a buzzing noise, sounds like a backlight buzz that some TFT suffer from. Happens on charge, with headphones plugged in and I can hear it through the headset which came with the phone. I had a Apple MacBook Pro with a similar whine if anyone is familiar with that.
i have an ATT 8525 and I have that buzzing sound also as soon as the backlight is turned on.

Same problem as you when using my startrek. Now I got used to it.
Happens if you are touching the keyboard. DUnno why. But I can hear it also when I touch and the keyboard backlight goes on..
it's annoying. the only time I hold it up so close to my ear to be able to hear it is when I make/answer a phone call. then I just turn the screen off when I'm talking on the phone. it sucks.

Hy
I just received my brand new SGS2 (White) and I noticed a problem with the in call sound. I tried calling my phone with different phones so it's not one phone that's acting up but my phone that has a bad speaker.
The problem I'm experiencing is a scratching sound when someone is talking with a high or low pitched voice. It sounds like a busted speaker.
I'm writing because I'd like to know if the speaker is really so bad on this phone or if it's something wrong with it. My wife can't hear a thing but I's really bothering me.
Note: I'm not talking about external speaker. I'm talking about the headset or whatever you call it. The one that you use in a normal call. I forgot to mention that the scratching sound goes away only if I set my volume below 40%.
Quick question for anyone who may be able to answer this.
Has anyone noticed a low volume when the speaker phone is ON while making a call?
The phone speakers are awesome when you play music. Also normal call volume is very good. However, when I turn the speaker phone ON during a call, the sound from the speakers doesnt seem to be that great. Infact it is quite faint.
Any one else has the problem?? Also does anyone know any solutions??
Used the speaker phone yesterday for the first time and must admit even set to the highest it was piss poor low, very disappointed as like you said the speaker when playing music or video is fantastic.

this is my problem too, even my X10 mini beats the XPS! I need a louder speaker phone...
I also have this problem with a very very low sound when speakerphone is ON during the phone conversation. I have the latest software 2.3.7.I have had 4 Android phones before Xperia S and did not had such a basic problem. After all the quality conversation is mobiles priority number one before all the media, design, display and etc in my opinion. It is so low that I don't hear 50% of the conversation on a speakerphone when am I alone in a room. Please don't give any solutions like turn up the volume during conversation and all other settings since I have done it already. This is simple a manufacturers software mistake. Sony please take this seriously and don't embarrass on such a basic thing in phone like speakerphone volume. Everything else on this phone is great, only problem is a loose cover for the micro usb that you use everyday to charge the phone.
Strangely, when I switched to speaker mid call yesterday the other person commented that I got A LOT clearer for them Didnt sound quiet for me either, though I was in a quiet environment so it wasnt competing with anything.
Did you turn on xLOUD?

Thats for music with the music player.
Anyone notice when making outgoing calls if the ringing drops off and sounds muffled after about the third or fourth ring? When someone answers it sounds totally fine but it gets very hard to hear the ringing. Also happens on the speakerphone so it seems like a Sprint issue except my OG EVO never did this and neither does my wife's iPhone.

Hi,
Since I got this phone I noticed that when I make a call the ring tone is odd, one ring is loud and the next is softer and
when it connects the same thing happens to the person on the other end.
Like the sound volume is cutting in and out.
I am guessing its related to some noise reduction technology they included.
