I have been using the standard file manager app on my TFP201 extensively during the last month (before the .28 patch however), copying large amount of data from SD(HC) cards (from my foto- and video-camera) to my tablet and the following problems have occurred more than once during that period:
1) The file manager stops copying data spontaneously for no reason (enough diskspace available, battery charged, tablet is left by itself (not moving/using it)) with a vague error like "could not copy the data, an error occurred".
2) sometimes after the failure, data on the SD card "seems to be lost", it doesn't display them in the file manager anymore. However ejecting and re-injecting the SD card shows the data again.
3) sometimes after the failure, data on the SD card "seems to be lost", it doesn't display them in the file manager anymore. After ejecting the SD card and re-injecting it, the SD card is not recognized. Only solution is to completely reboot the tablet, so that the SD card is recognized again.
Has anyone experienced these problems?

Hi!
I've got a big problem and the thing is I don't know if that's with my phone or SD card.
To begin with, I have class 4 EMTEC SD Card (4 GB). I bought it about 3 days ago so it's quite new. My rom is Mik-os' CM7 and the problem is that every single time I copy something to or from that card and something bad happens (e.g. my PC loses connection with phone when copying files, or I tap "Turn off USB connection" on my phone too early) it results in "Blank SD Card" error and I must partition card every single time it happens. As you know, it can be quite frustrating, as I have most of my apps on SD card.
From my description, you may think that this is clearly my SD card's fault. But, the same thing happened earlier with my 2 GB SD card that came with my phone. I couldn't delete nor save anything on it using android's USB function, I had to do everything using recovery menu. And my my ROM that time was LOL 1.4.2.
So, my question is - is that my phone's fault or it's rather my SD card?
Also I have one bonus question - is there any way to backup apps installed on SD card? (But I'm not talking about TitaniumBackup, what I mean is if I can copy any folder to the computer, and when the "Blank SD card" error appears, just paste it to SD card and have all apps again.)

Well I have this problem with Void.Forever ROM. Do not format it, just reboot your phone after this issue
Well, I tried rebooting, I tried to remove and insert the SD card again, but it didn't help and I always end up getting "Blank SD Card".
Its a bad sdcard. I had this problem on stock froyo too. Please replace your sdcard.

The card that comes with the phone is pure junk, so the experience with that is irrelevant. Other than that, use USB card reader in PC. If it is dead, just RMA it.
As for the backup - the apps are in .android_secure folder. Nowever, this is not really a solution, you would have to backup the entire SD card, lots of other application data are scattered across all different directories on SD. Worse yet, if you backup the phone via recovery, it gets lost.
try using panasonic sd formatter and format ur sdcard create ext partition if u have atleast class 4 orelse dont and see if the prob persist
Hi!
Today, I ran into problems with my SD card not being recognized. After booting, the process usually looks like this:
1. Displays "Preparing SD: Checking for errors" in the notification area, options to mount wither SD or internal storage are grayed out, "Unavailable".
2. No notification any more, internal storage is mounted. SD card shows an option to be mounted, but if it is activated, the storage manager hangs.
3. SD card isn't mounted, I get a notification that "SD Card is damaged. You may have to reformat it."
Each of these takes about 10-20 minutes to happen.
However, the SD is actually fine: If I open it in recovery, I can see everything is there and that there is no damage to it. Unfortunately, I have not found a way to access my data while in recovery, and I don't have a reader for a microSD card at hand. And I need that data to know if an assignment for my university is due tomorrow :\ So, any help?
Device is a Motorola Atrix, originally rooted, with CM7 (Neutrino ROM). Tried wiping the caches and fixing permissions in recovery, which had no effect except that it unrooted the phone -.-
Thanks for any replies!

Hello world!
A very strange issue have just happen with my Lenovo phone. The SD card suddenly became unrecognized, only by some of the apps. the card itself is OK (PC tested, and the problems occurs with any card), listed properly under "storage" menu, and accessible by files explorer. But, when i open the camera or photo gallery - i recieve the message that "no SD storage". The strangest fact is, thar on the background of this message in the gallery, it shows up thumbs of images stored in the card...
Phone's internal memory has been repartitioned with METEOS app, to disable internal SD and increase internal memory, but everything was fine a long time until now.
I tried to recover the initial state of the phone. Did full format by Flash-Tool, the loaded on it an official chinese stock-rom, in order to recover its initial internal memory partitioning.
Then I upgraded it to CWM recovery and my previous custom ROM (Lambda) and everithing was OK, even the SD was detected. But then, when I tried to make repartition with METEOS app (after which i had to modify the actual code lines in Void.fstab, as instructed after METEOS using), BOOM! again the is'nt recognized only by camera and galley!
What could have happen? everithing worked fine more than a year
Update:
I have found that, though the SD is mounted in vold.fstab to "Storage", in the mnt folder it is still listed under Storage2.
How could that be?
Hello, since yesterday I have a serious and strange problem to your sd card. Let's start that I have a moto g lte first generation. So since yesterday I can't format my sd card, I can't erase the things that are above, I tried to find errors with pc but nothing, I did scan but nothing, though I can move files from sd card to your pc, I can hear the music with the songs placed on the sd, but the strangest thing is that if I update an application , and then with link2sd the move on the sd, gives me an error and if I reboot the phone, the application is no longer updated and is moved to the internal memory, 2.7 gb free space out of 8. If I try to copy some apps on the sd using link2sd I get says "install failed container error", while if I try to use solid explorer and press for information for both the sd card to the inner one, I get says "attempt to invoke a virtual method on a null object reference". I tried to format the sd card with sd formatter however tells me the card is protected. You know me, I'm going crazy ps apps that were wrapped with link2sd on the sd card, they work. :crying:
Recently purchased the Cat S60 (Android 6.0.1), which has so far proven to be a fantastic phone, however, the SD Card, a Lexar 128GB, has a habit of suddenly becoming "corrupt", but it isn't. I plug it into my computer with a reader, do a chkdsk, finds no problems, and plug it back into the phone, but it still shows up as corrupt. However, if I reboot the phone a few times, it suddenly realizes it isn't corrupt.
My question is, is there a reason for this happening, and if so, is there a way to fix it?
I would backup everything on your SD Card to your PC. Format SD Card in the S60, once you have formatted the SD Card in the S60,
To Format the SD Card in S60. Go to Setting --> Storage & USB
- Select the SD Card in question
- Select the 3 vertical dotes and select settings
- Select Format (Format as Internal makes the SD card part of the internal memory)
transfer the contents back to the SD Card. You might found a corrupt file while copying over which could be causing the SD getting corrupt all the time.
I have the same issue with my nvidia shield k1 and have found a lot of people having same problems with marshmallow phones.its probably the integrated space formatting.
