How to install from another ICS leak (same carrier, model, etc.):
Put the leak on your external SD card.
Fastboot a patched boot.img using the boot.img.p from this leak's /patch/ folder and the boot.img from the latest official version's fastboot files. (See my thread on patching boot images here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=27211509 )
NOTE: If someone posts a reply with a boot.img they patched, you can use that one as well. Only one person has to make one and post it.
Fastboot the system.img and preinstall.img from the latest official version
Boot to recovery and install the newer ICS leak.
Must be on 651.167.3370.XT910.AmericaMovil.en.01 stock rooted to install.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Be on STOCK 651.167.3370.XT910.AmericaMovil.en.01. No frozen apps. No custom recoveries, etc.

Oh! This I want!

woohooo... aqui voy!!!

After Rooting and installing this rom, it showed the CLARO logo, then started doing the "android is upgrading" counting the apps... but after that it froze on starting applications... don't know how to unfreeze it or restart it... There is no way to do a battery pull, so can anyone help????
I managed to reset it, and it booted, but...
No Sound and it drained the battery pretty fast...
Gonna do a Factory reset to reinstall all the apps to see if that resolves this...

You should definitely just do a factory reset, along with wiping your caches from Recovery. I wonder how many people complaining of ICS issues just never did a factory reset in fact...with such a huge OS change, there's no way I would trust it just "upgrading" what was installed. I just got my unlocked RAZR and went straight from fresh Gingerbread with nothing installed to this Claro ICS, and immediately upon booting I got force closes from Google's own apps. A factory reset along with wiping the caches fixed it up. Loving it so far, only really noticeable problem I've had is the widget selection screen having each widget's name whited out, but other than that, it's been stable and solid. Battery life has been pretty great as well, easily hit 15 hours of nearly non-stop screen usage to set everything back up before it said to plug in the charger. In regular usage I can see myself going 2-3 days.

The problem as I have stated in other threads is that the battery is not charging and it wont let me do a FR... Something went very fubar and stiil don't know how to fix it... and I'nm still reading... a lot...

Waiting for someone kind enough to give a try from the retail BR ICS version to move to this one and post instructions on how to.
Edit: After a lot of reading and getting scared a couple of times, patched my own boot.img
Download here
After updating I waited for the new system to boot and rebooted to recovery to master reset, works like a charm.

Thanks juanfers! Needed that file to upgrade from the Brazil leak!

Update...
I managed to make it charge, but still I notice the battery goes very fast... I saw that there is a script for taht or something. Can anyone point me to the correct download?

Honestly, i don't know why you guys didn't use the LATAM Retail version, is the best rom for our phones, and is not full of all the claro crap

Does anyone know when ics ota is coming to Puerto Rico for our razr

hi, i write for a web page called QiiBO.com, we want to feature this rom/update to help our readers upgrade their phone, if anyone here is so kind to write a guide, we will feature you, your twitter or your name, thanking you for your help. Thanks, and you can contact me thru [email protected]

[Q] my phone is DEAD

Did my frist flash and now everything is messed up (JL2 seeARMS) - for the belli9000m
basically I can get into my phone - but everything is black (i can't see anything other than the status scren) and the home/back button doesn't work - can't see nothing else
I did a factory reset, wipe, cache, etc. everything - and reinstalled the ROM via CWM yet still nothing works
I desperately need help
Install the correct Bell rom via Odin, not CWM. That should fix it.
you mean to start all over kinda thing ? like download the correct Bell JL2 rom (the official one) and use ODIN to install it ?
I still don't understand why everything is blank - like i can pull down status bar and select voicemal to make a call, receive txts even, but nothing else is there - nothing
how does this even happen
Well it's weird, I'll give you that, but your phone is far from "DEAD". Probably some files are failing to load, or were not included in that ROM that you flashed. Flashing the official one will fix it.

ok last question - once I find / dl the original firmware from bell/samsung (JL2) - and I go into download mode and use ODIN - WHAT BOXES DO I TICK/CHECK - because I've only used odin to flash a kernal (and just used pda) I can assume it's not the same as I'll need the original kernal correct ?
do I tick all the boxes? any tutorials on this I'm lost.
also, how big are these files - i am at work behind a firewall so I can't dl the original firm ware from
http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-i9000.htm
but I need the JL2
if anyone wants to d/l it and email it to me it would be awesome
[email protected]
The files are big (~160MB), I don't think they will fit in your gmail
Here's the download link from samfirmware.com for I9000UGJL2
http://www.multiupload.com/6GRS1OWRJW (password is samfirmware.com)
You just select the .tar file in Odin in the PDA field, don't tick anything else, and flash. Example below:

Anyway, before you do all that, have you tried wiping the phone from recovery mode? It might help.
You can also try asking seeARMS for help in his thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=906977

I know how to get back to stock now - i am just curious about how to re-flash the rom - I want to get this rom on my phone.
I tried flashing it again via CWM - it's even worse, i get into android, but it's blank, black, nothing's there, no buttons work, etc.
so what I was SUPPOSED to do was unzip the original rom .zip file and delete the extra stuff ? then rezip it and flash THAT file via CWM ?
that wasn't in the instructions -- look at the instructions it gives you 2 options:
-------------
"1. Download and extract the file you downloaded above to the root of your internal SD card (both the "seearms" folder and the .ZIP ROM file).
If you would like to customize your install, continue doing step 2. If you would like a stock install with all the applications + SpeedMod kernel + JL2 modem + Generation X theme, skip to step 3"
3. Boot into recovery, and select "Install zip from sdcard".
4. Select "Choose zip from sdcard", and scroll to the ROM.
------------
I did what it said - I did a stock install and skipped to step 3 without doing 2a-2e (custom install)
no where in the instructions did it say I had to open up the .zip file and delete contents then rezip it and flash that file
I need to know how to flash this "custom" rom as per the instructions via seeARM himself -- i didn't do the "custom" and that's what messed me up
ok i flashed with stock JL2 and now i get 10000 force closes
why is this ? anyone ?

E: failed to mount /efs

Hi, I was wondering if anyone can help me.
My tablet is unable to mount my /efs directory, or whatever. And while I don't know if they are directly connected,
things like my lock screen, holding my power button to get options like Flight Mode, Data Network, Restart, Etc., is gone. And I have tried screen lock to work, it doesn't. Holding my power button shuts my tablet down (in the same amount of
time that holding it would normally bring up the options screen, as well). I also loose completely my 3g, no matter wish successfully installed rom I run. I am not new to flashing rom at all and navigate trough all kind of step regarding specifics to rom by heart. All I can remember was to try the latest Android 4.1.1 - CyanogenMod 10 Preview and failed to load it, I was stuck in the boot animation for half an hour. So I decide to go back to the new stuck 4.0.4 from my provider. That is where I found the problem. Since, I have try 4.0.4 stuck, 4.04 rooted. The problem occur the same way in every rom and everything else was juste fine. I try the 3.1 stuck and 3.2 stuck and the message E: failed to mount /efs appear when rebooting from odin install.Never been able to load any version of the latest 4.1.1 from pershot. I have found a thread about the same issues from another device http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1766748. I pass the entire day reading the web for solution, but no cigars so far.
I have the a Telus samsung galaxy tab 10.1 3g.
Thanks in advance if you have any idea how to resolve the /efs mounting problem.
I will added these picture to show that I have lost all important information that is apparently store in some file inside this /efs folder. Apparently this folder as been corrupt when flashing the CyanogenMod 10 Preview especially made for my tablet. So my new question would be to ask.
Do anyone know how to restore this folder even if I have no backup of it?

try to copy the content of the efs folder with any root browser. it will have files and folders like in the screenshot atached.
Solved.
i had exactly the same problem. Was working on it for the last two days (ofcourse i am a simpleton and rookie )
But yes at last the phone is fixed and working fine with all the parameters.
So dont worry dear. Try to follow these steps : -
1. flash a rom using odin or heimdall - either stock or Cyanogenmod. You can check the repartition if using with the pit file.
2. Root your phone if not already rooted
3. Install busybox
4. Install kTool.apk (Its a small and wonderful apk. Freely available)
5. Install any file manager that supports root browsing
6. Make a backup of your efs with the help of kTool.apk (Its simple)
7. Decompress your earlier backup and copy all the files in the root efs folder with the root explorer
8. Now rename the one that you decompressed the files from as efs.img and copy it into the internal sdcard root
9. Now retore the egs.img using the kTool.apk
This will solve the problem i guess.
Good luck

No file in /efs folder, and no backup
Thanks a lot for the answer guys, but unfortunately there is nothing inside my /efs folder. It's completely empty and therefore I can't copy it, move it backup it,or anything. I also have no backup of this folder. As I understand some file in this folder contain the super important information of my own system like IEME, Serial, etc... So my concern is more like is there is a way to restore this folder even if it doesn't exist. I think the answer is no and the only solution for me is to send it back to Samsung with the stuck roms from my provider and hope for them to not deny the repair so I won't have to pay. I wonder if there is other thing to do but I am pretty sure not. If someone know something let me know. I have already contact Samsung and tell them that my 3g is broken and some strange behavior occur during OTA update. They are going to send me something for me to send the tablet for reparation. Til then I really want to know if there is something I don't understand and if there is still hope. Anyway thanks in advance for anyone who know better then me.
This is EXACTLY what's going on with my tablet, and yes, there's nothing to copy. What do we do?
I originally edited my old post with this, but I wanted to be sure the OP saw it.
I finally fixed mine. See my thread at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1876260
I hope it helps

SCH-i500 Bricked

Hello everyone; I've been desperately attempting to get CM7 installed on my Samsung Fascinate since its release, and I have been unable to do so despite it being 'so very easy'. Today I had installed CM10 on my HP touchpad with zero issues, so I decided to attempt to install CM7 on my Fascinate again.
While following this tutorial (http://forum.cyanogenmod.org/topic/32474-cyanogenmod-7-for-the-samsung-fascinate-v710-9-oct-2011/) I came across a step that 'bricked' my phone. Below are the steps that I was required by the tutorial to take:
Root the device and install ClockworkMod Recovery. Instructions are available here.
My phone had been previously rooted; I purchased, downloaded and flashed ClockworkMod Recovery onto my phone successfully.
Perform a NANDroid backup of your current ROM.
I elected NOT to do a NANDroid backup; my phone was cluttered and I decided that if things wen't wrong, I'd like to reboot into a factory reset phone and re-root from scratch (where inlies my issues).
Format the system, data & cache partitions of your device.
I did, successfully.
Perform a factory reset.
This is the last step in which I was able to complete (for obvious reasons) after the factory reset was complete, however, I was UNABLE to get into download mode to be able to finish the ClockworkMod Recovery (all files for CM7 are still on my SD card ready to go). However, upon rebooting my phone I've noticed that my home screen manager does NOT function, and I am unable to navigate within my phone. It does NOT launch when I hit my home button, and I've been unable to do anything else with my phone.
Flash CyanogenMod.
I was unable to get to this step.
Optional: Install the Google Apps addon package.
I was unable to get to this step.
Being a tech geek, I would not open a thread unless I've exhausted all options at my disposal; A quick Google search resulted in this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1026746) in which I was sure I'd be able to get my phone working again. However, the files associated with it (EB01All in 1) are no longer hosted at the links provided. An extensive Google search yielded no results.
What I'd like to be able to do is to get my phone operational to the point where I can continue with the installation of CM7. Any and all help that you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
I would use section 4 of that guide by droidstyle
And flash a jelly bean 4.2.x Rom

From what I can gather by your post, you're suggesting that I use section 4 of this tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17050028
In which I would not be able too, considering almost all of the pertinent files that were uploaded for use cannot be found, and are no longer hosted. Anything else?
=========================
Update:
By some sort of miracle I was able to get my phone into download mode by using the SDK command; as of now I'm loading up CI500_VZW_EH03_GB_CM.tar.md5 as you've suggested. I'll update this post again once the process is complete.

okay so, why did you root the phone? that was an extra step that was unneeded. you just had to flash cwm_fix_cm7 or whatever and then boot into cwm and flash cm7. also, I'd flash EH03, that's gingerbread, you don't have to go back all the way to EB01 or whatever, no need to. and lastly, you shouldn't of factory reset it. it sounds to me like you have soft bricked it, does it boot up, even with errors? if you can bout it, try powering it off and then take out the battery and the SD card, then hit the vol - and power and it should boot into download mode. (also put the usb into the port and phone before) but like hhp said I'd go read droidstyles guide
What I don't get is why you'd want to use CM7 when there's a ton of great 4.2 roms available for the Fascinate (including CM10.1) that run very nicely

So far I've been unable to find any, which is why I was under the impression that I would be required to use CM7; if possible, could you link me to the files necessary?

Help ME Please OTA Update Has my phone stuck in a boot loop

So i read a bunch of threads and people said the new update was fine and wouldnt try to remove root. So i decided to give it a go and see if that was true. Well when it rebooted it keeps rebooting into twrp no matter what i do. Im not good with linux commands but how do i fix this? Also i only have one file to be modified and thats for the dual window mod so i could dual window all apps. Is this part of the problem?
I found a thread that told me some command lines to restart the phone without needing to wipe but how do i get rid of this ota update?

While you can (sometimes) install an OTA while your phone is rooted, you should never try to install one when it is fully unlocked (i.e. - custom recovery installed). You edit seems to indicate you fixed it, but if you're still having issues I know there are steps to get out of the bootloop you're experiencing, I just don't have off hand where they're at. Bottom line, if you're root AND unlocked (running twrp), you should never take an OTA as there's no reason for it. You can install one of the fine stock-based roms that have been updated to the latest VZW software and have no risk in doing so. Just for future reference

Follow this command lines and that will or should reboot your phone to before you tried to install the newest update. The same thing happened to me with the last update. Those commands came in handy.

Pays to have a copy of LG Flashtool and the stock firmware
See the first post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2907508
If you have a USB otg cable, you can put the flash...zip file linked in the post on a flash drive, then tell twrp to install that to clear the ota.
Alternately, twrp has a small terminal emulator. Look at the part of the post with the commands listed. Only input the su and two dd command lines, in twrp.
After either of the above, tell twrp to reboot to system.
Once you can successfully get back to your normal system, either freeze "System updates...." or use a file manager to rename the two LGDMSClient files found in /system/app, then reboot your phone one more time.

After unzipping 0.rar, i startet a cmd as administrator, navigated with cd to the unziped folder and startet "flashall.cmd"
The Device starts again
Install OFW
Unfortunetly the Unblock Bootloader APK from Asus ended up with an error , i tried a lot with adb install *.apk and so on, but nothing worked out... Therefore i installed the latest OFW
You need an SD-Card and the latest Version (https://www.asus.com/Tablets/ASUS_MeMO_Pad_FHD_10_ME302KL/HelpDesk_Download/)
-> For me it is the "ASUS MEMo Pad FHD 10 LTE Firmware: V10.10.3.39 Only for WW SKU (Android 4.2.2)"
Copy the unzipped zip (you will see what i mean) to the SD-Card and unname it to "APQ8064_SDUPDATE.zip"
Insert the micro SD card into the tablet.
Turn off the tablet.
Press and hold Volume Up + Power Key, wait until the bootloader logo appears, and then the FW update process begins. (if this don´t work out try the APK "Recovery Reboot")
After the completion the device will automatically reboot.
Perform the factory data reset.
IUnlock Bootloader with the official APK
-> https://www.asus.com/de/supportonly/ASUS MeMO Pad FHD 10 LTE/HelpDesk_Download/ -> Utilities -> Expand -> "Unlock Device App"
Install TWRP
-> https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/recovery-twrp-3-1-1-0-asus-me302kl-t3609759
Install LineAgeOS
-> https://forum.xda-developers.com/an.../rom-8-0-0-lineageos-15-0-unofficial-t3693838
Enjoy
I had some hope when I saw this thread. I had problems with the bootloader unlock too.

And it helped?
My advice to anyone trying to revive this old tablet is to just buy a new one, no matter what the cost and you will come out ahead in comparison to time wasted trying to resurrect this old beast. Still if you are like me and perhaps when you arrive here are "already in way too deep", here are some hints to get you going. I'm 2 weeks into playing with this thing but making good progress. Wishing I'd just bought a new one but since I usually forget everything I learned dealing with ROM builds a few weeks after I set it aside,I can't say I learned a valuable lesson so I'm not sure of the benefit.
First of all, to ensure you don't brick this thing, be sure to RESTORE TO FACTORY before unlocking. Then once set to factory defaults and you are configuring it anew again, when you get to the screen asking to sign into Google, then don't do it because if you do, when you run the unlock routine it will go into a loop asking for your Google ID and password. Then when you sideload in the Assus unlock app and also accept any upgrades that Asus provides if at this point you have never logged into Google, the only requirement of this unlock routine is that you have a working wifi accessed so you will never get into the Google ID loop if you don't have a Google sign-in account set up.
So, I've loaded every version, evaluated them and rejected all but 14.1 due to some quirk or another. My mistake was loading multiple zips after the unnlock (including Gapps up front, a no-no in my opinion) and this has left me yet to load any of the Gappas package yet, discovering that is what gave me my black screen initially. I now have a full suite of mapping software loaded and working plus many basic language tools and other apps that support traveling and using this device as a guide. I have side loaded about 25 apps and all is well so far without the play store. I have the GPS working (couldn't get it to work in 13.x and 15.x versions) and additionally I was able to load Magisk systemless, Xposed V25 systemless, XprivacyLUA and a long list of Xposed modules that all work perfectly, plus I have a functional root. I haven't tried any super secure apps like banking because I haven't even set up playstore. So right now I have a great functioning device that is not so Googled-up. I am not sure if I will load the 7.1 Gapps at this point now but I plan to get everything working on this device I can without Google Playstore and the other Google suite and see just how far I can get without Google apps. I do miss the voice typing, however.
Another thing that will get you confused with this tablet is the first time after flashing it with the TWRP recovery and just as you enter fastboot reboot on your computer and press the enter key for the very first time, you have to hold in the power button and up-volume button on the tablet at the same time you reboot with fastboot and if you don't when you reboot after the flash of the new recovery, the stock ROM will revert the TWRP recovery.img back to stock. I know, it sounds hard to believe but if you flash it and don't get the TWRP menu on the next recovery boot, this is what happened.
