Wow really?? Give them a break it was only released about 2 days ago lol so it'll probably be a while before Samsung get touchwiz and all their stuff running on it and roll it out. I doubt you'll be waiting too long for a custom rom with it though...

Can you take twenty seconds to scroll to the next page to see there are five other threads asking the SAME question? Asking it three hours later won't make it come any sooner.

Maybe in Razr?
yes... of course...
i already smell motorola working on their version.. whatever..
I think we should save the speculation at least until we have a proper ICS build at least... Then we can start whining about Motorola not giving us an update and still not unlocking the bootloaders lol
what if they just skipped ICS and went straight to Jellybean lol

WOW!!!!!!!!!!
Am i the only one who read the part where it says...
"....for notebooks, netbooks, and tablets"
Why would anyone suggest the RAZR PHONE would get it??? That's like asking for honeycomb on our RAZRs.

I hope that they work at least on ICS....-
Jelly Bean upgrade for Razr by motorola??? It sounds like a science fiction...
So now when the JB is announced, will we ever see it on RAZR? We haven't even received ICS lol.
From Engadget: "Jelly Bean will be rolling out to Galaxy Nexus, Nexus S and Xoom devices in mid July, along with the open source code. Developers though, can start playing with the SDK today."
And we haven't got the official ICS
BTW Jellybean is 4.1, not 5.0

I will be enjoying JB on my Xoom, yes!
So we should now wait for 4.2(or 5.0) and by the time it's out we'll get Jelly Bean
Heck with Jelly Bean. I really want some Kettle Corn on my razr!! I like the salty taste! :silly:
Fan boys say Kettle Corn is incredible!

So you were gonna start a thread asking when we will get JB when we don't even have ICS yet? That's just as smart as not searching before you open a new thread.

99.99% certain that we don't get it officially, but there is a high possibility that cm10 will find the way to our tab!
but as kilometers4 said we should wait for ics first.
If this is what all the posts in the forum are going to be about once we have ICS, please kill me now...

Agreed.... Just shoot me now......
The rumour is that we get ICS in August 2012 or 15 months after official Google announcement. So if there is a chance to get JB, add another 15 months to the official Google announcement (is gonna happen in few days) and you have the Samsung release date of September 2013.
jb uses same drivers as ics... It's still android 4 it's like froyo and gb... so for sure cyanogenmod and aokp + kangers will release jb for us and samsung can go to h....

Afaik the driver model has not changed from Android 1.0 to 4.0, it's still all linux. 5 years old linux drivers work on new systems.

I am --- on my Nexus 7. Sold my Nook Color and my Galaxy Tab Plus is on Craigslist as I type. Not sure what to do with the GT10.1, though... I still love this tab (and unless the difference between ICS and JB is as big as between HC and ICS, I give two ****s if Samsung gives us the 4.1 update...).

Not true.. Or we could have a working camera in ics using hc drivers / kernel

This is because Samsung refuses to release the source code for the camera driver, so you cannot compile it with an alternate kernel. The driver would work for ICS if we had the source code.
Jb has been ripped already according to reports, so we shall see
Are you f'ing kidding me? I knew as soon as I saw the Google io release about jelly bean everyone would start asking this question.
A) how bout waiting for ICS first, then worry about an official update from 4 to 4.1.
B) According to Google it won't be much different, you can do all that 4.1 does with a launcher or a ROM
C). 4.1 will be an easier transition to accomplish whereas 3.5 to 4.0 is a harder undertaking thus the long wait.
D). With the injunction placed on the 10.1 in CA there will be no more galaxy tabs 10.1 for sale in the US anyway assuming Samsung doesn't win an appeal.
E). Its time to upgrade to a new tablet soon, ASUS has some amazing stuff and they are QUAD CORE! Compared to our two.
F). Once we get our cameras working on official ICS who cares anymore??? We will never get 5.0 officially so for me my tab ends at official ICS . CM9 is good now..cm10, cm 11 will suit your needs just the same.....
I am very sure we are gonna get jelly bean on our tab since the drivers for jelly bean and ice cream sandwich are the same, so Samsung only has to do very small things to get jelly bean to our tab. The reason why its taking so long for ice cream sandwich to come to our galaxy tab is that ics is a major revision and lots of drivers need to be updated.

The drivers are the same for Gingerbread, Honeycomb and ICS. There is no new driver model. These are all Linux drivers and the driver model does not change. Since Samsung has not released the Source Code for the Camera driver, and this Camera is not used for any other Tablet there is no Cyanogen camera support for the 10.1 tab.
The only reason there is no official ICS for Galaxy Tab 1 is the presence of Galaxy Tab 2 (with almost identical hardware, but a different camera), which has ICS. Samsung hopes to make some more money on users who don't want to wait and ditch the Tab 1 for the Tab 2.
Sammy will indeed update the tab to jelly bean in the year 2016, stand-by for further announcements. :highfive:
Guys this is Samsung's first flagship tablet....so Sammy 'll lose its already bad update release status completely if it lets down our tab.
With nexus tab given to azus Sammy 's got one less tablet to code for.
" THEN WHY THE F'kin HELL DOES SAMSUNG HOLD BACK UPDATES?????"
Damn frustated man.....

I believe once the JB is officially released the migration from AOKP/CM9 to it would be very smooth except for camera driver which has it's well known issue..
ICS
:good: What I heard lately Samsung announced Galaxy Tab 10.1 ICS upgrade and it's scheduled for July and August '12...

Who's gonna be the first to make a jellybean rom that's functional

Just wondering this to myself. Are there any big differences from ics?
Sent from my samsung i717 using the reeeemiiixxxx collective
Probably Samsung & AT&T. Just like ICS, we had to wait till we had a leaked rom so I would guess it will be the same way with Jelly Bean.

Not sure SGH-i777 will get the Jelly bean official update.
Anyone has any clue?

I would have to guess yes but very late
Sent from my SGH-I777
My insider source guarantees that it will come out on Sept 31.
I would guess that AT&T will never have a Jelly Bean update made for the I777, because they want to sell you the GS3 or other phones instead. Their ICS kernels are borked anyway, so chances are even if they did make a Jelly Bean, it would suck pretty hard, and it probably wouldn't come out until after the next version of Android is released anyway.
Still, this is good news, because it means eventually Jelly Bean source code for I9100 will have to be released, and from there XDA devs can bring even better Jelly Bean ROMs to I777.
Pleased keep all JB rumors in the current JB thread:

[Q] Galaxy s3 update

Does anybody know when the official jelly bean update will be released?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Seriously?
Samsung cancelled the updates and S3 will be stuck with ics and possibly a rollback for gb is in schedule
《spilled from dragon jellybean rom》
Nobody knows yet for sure man. Hopefully soon though. There seems to be a new leaked build of Jelly Bean each day with each one being an improvement from the last one.
