[Q] Overclocking without custom ROM?

I've read somewhere that it is possible to overclock without the use of a custom ROM. My question is, has anyone done it? if so, how? Thanks!

You would need a custom kernel to overclock.
Download pershoot custom kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1138167
Setcpu: https://market.android.com/details?...wsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5taHVhbmcub3ZlcmNsb2NraW5nIl0.
Best of luck!

And just so you know, setcpu requires root privileges. I don't really see a way of staying completely stock, but that's probably the closest option.

You can download Android Overclock BUT you need to be rooted for it to work. I have a custom rom without overclock and use that app.

stock can be the following-
stock with no root access. the original setup as from the factory.
stock with root access. using the rooting process specific to your device to allow the device to look the same but allowing extra functions and other apps requiring root access to run.
Hope this helps with what you're asking.
Sent from my GT-P7510 using one stinky finger.
Just root your tab...there is like 5 tutorials now ...then download a cpu app from the market..the free ones work just as well...no need to pay
no need for a custom kernel....even though you should....and a custom rom....

because you dont have a custom rom so your phone feels neglected and unloved.
So I take it you're complete stock unrooted?
If so, which build are you on?
I'm rooted on stock ics 4.0.3

Well i am running their stock deodexed with TeaMseven. But I'm guessing since it's the removal of stuff it might be a bit complicated.

Edit: Links are down again.
Dropbox is a bad choice for this as they will cut you off.

[Q] Managed to successfully root But... Some Q's

Hello, I have a S3 I9300. Came with 4.3 Pre Installed.
Now I have JUST Rooted it and removed some useless apps.
Now my questions is: IF I want to do a factory re set.
A) Would it work?
B) Would it work and go back to Unrooted or stay as Root?
I am looking for a Simple Stable/FAST/Smooth/Stock Like ROM. Any recommendations.

Yes the factory reset will work and after that you will lose your root access, but you can easily gain it again with https://towelroot.com.

Okay, Thank!
I also wanted to ask,
How much RAM do you have now?
and whats your Screen time for your whole battery
I deleted lots of Samsung rubbish and I have much more free RAM, and phone feels slighlty smoothly.

Ditch touchwiz and try a different launcher and it will be even better.
Also be warned asking which roms/kernels are best etc are against the rules.

Downgrading from 4.4.2 to 2.3.6?

Just a simple doubt.
Is it possible to downgrade from 4.4.2 to 2.3.6 or 4.1.2?
I am currently on SlimKAT 4.4.2 and it sucks. The battery life is hell. Also the camera doesn't work.
Can anyone tell me any way to downgrade?
The reason I wanna do this is that I only wanna use it as a backup phone.
And if possible, please guide me though the process.... Thanks....
