Have you tried pushing it through ADB?
I glad you deleted it... it is a horrible player and has no use. Just download any video player and all will be well again.
If you purchase content through Google, you have to use Google Play Video anyway.
For everything else, my favorite is MX Player (+ it's codec).

Yeah...agree...mx player can play many more video formats...but if for in game video...mb you do have to place the apk of the video player in /system/app cause certain apps may still require it to run...

Hi guys,
I dont know if already mentioned,i put some songs in my sd card(internal and external) I played few songs with sammy music player and then I deleted one cd (one folder).i opened again the music player and I still can see the deleted songs. If I try to play them it says "file does not exist".The only way to remove them is by deleting inside the music player or after rebooting phone.I initially deleted songs from root explorer.Whats going wrong?also tried the poweramp with same results. Is it the deleting or adding real time?
Same issue with video player.I played an avi file, deleted and its still in videos list.Any idea what am I doing wrong?

thank you.you are right.something goes wrong with root explorer
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
Im guessing that when you delete something with root explorer the phone wont re-scan the media but with the stock file manager it does. I dont know if theres an option in the setting to rescan media but I know that there are apps in the market that can be used to do that. I use Extented Controls and with it you can have a media scan button in a widget.
Is it SemcSnpVideoPlayer.apk or something else? I'm not really sure
Any name like video player.apk there?
Sent from my Nokia 3310
Nope. I can't find videoplayer.apk, video.apk, player.apk or semcvideo.apk but I still find movies app when I play mp4 files on my XMP
Well then, that must be it.
What do u want to do with that videoplayer?
Sent from my Nokia 3310
I'm planning to replace it with another video player on the market. It is really picky when it comes to format and sometimes rejects some of my mp4 files. I wanted to save some internal memory space and I will remove it. Other ideas what the apk for the app would be???
I suggest mx video player.
I've been using it for a long time.
Sent from my Nokia 3310
Thanks for the suggestion. I have been thinking whether to choose DICE player or MX player. Anyway. Back to the original question...
Anyone else???
I'm looking for an Android app that can play a listen.pls or NSV file just buy opening the file from a file manager within the phone. Anyone know any app that can do that?
I haven't tried these because i dont have any files in the format you asked about but seaman video player, abdroid, double twist and streamcast, all claim to play those file formats.

I tried Seaman Video Player and doubleTwist and they don't. I don't know what abdroid and streamcast are or where to find them. Did you make a typo?
I googled it and that's what came up...????
Edit:
Abdroid was a typo on results
and the other was shoutcast but I don't think its what you are looking for. Sorry

I've tested the Winamp app, but it didn't work. I also used IO File Manger or Astro File Manager to open it. I even tried Stream Media player and pasted the url for the stream, but it didn't work. I also tried the VLC Stream and Convert app, but that didn't work either.

the problem is twofold. a .pls file is JUST a playlist that tries to play...some other type of file. A .pls can be a playlist of nearly any filetype, so if a .pls doesn't que a given playlist it's likely because the file formats aren't supported.
an .nsv file is a Nullsoft Streaming Video format extension. I don't know a thing on Android that can play an .nsv

You'll have to make a backup of the .apk in order to see it.
Try using "android assistant" from the play store and make a backup of mx player pro.
Now,using a root file manager,go to "android assistant app backup" folder, copy the .apk of mx player, and move it to system->app
and correct the permissions.
The right permissions are RW-R-R.
AND YOU ARE DONE!
Reboot.
i tried moving the mx player pro to system/app and set permission and rebooted. and still not work

Hello guys, I was hoping you could help me out here. I have a Galaxy Player 4.2 and its music app is better than any other music app I tried. Most importantly, it has folder support which a lot of other music players don't have. I recently bought a new phone and want to use the music app from the galaxy player 4.2 with it. It's not on Google Play and I wasn't able to find an .apk of it. So I was wondering if there is a way to dump the music app from my Galaxy Player to an .apk and install it on my new phone. Or if someone happens to have an .apk ready to install I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
I guess that could work but I would use my computer to go into my system folders and look up the apk in the system files and copy it to my desktop. Then I would plug in my other phone and replace the music stock app on that with the galaxy players stock music. I'm not sure if that would work but you can give it a try. Also remember to take the music apk from your other phone and put it in a safe place you know so you don't lose your other phones stock music app.
