hey guys
just got my sgs3 2 days ago very impressed with it, taking alittle time to adjust from the sense ui from my old HTC dhd, anyway what am wondering is the headphone volume is alittle low for my liking when am pounding the tread mill i love loud music.... is there such a mod as audio boost? i remember on the DHD this was a very common thing and you could get kernals that boosted the overall output buy 20%
cheers

Have a look in the development section there's a mod there that does just that.
Download power amp from the market , much louder with pre amp and limit setting in the EQ.

you can download Equalizer from Market and adjust it so its just as good/better then Beats.
It is fairly easy to duplicate the beats sound by using PowerAmp and it's EQ settings.
I have a set of ultimate ears earbuds and they sound as good or better than beats after playing with the EQ for a while.
I do like how easy beats makes it however, when you can just fire up the HTC player, plug in the phones and off you go.

Agreed...and Equalizer has preset widgets, so switching it up is easy.
I froze beats on my rezound.
Htc released the api's for beats audio codec so it's up to the app developers to incorporate it. Pretty soon main stream apps like Pandora will have it I'm sure

agreed, Equalizer works pretty good, I just have to remember to put it back on normal before taking a phonecall with the BT...
It's nice that it works for BT and headphones and slightly for the speaker.
I actually bought some beats over the ear about a month ago. I think it was the solo hds and they sounded amazing. I ended up returning them though to save up for this phone and these ibeats
Are pretty sick to. Just thought I would share my story with all of you. Lol

I agree with equalizer, just try small increments at first, or you will have more distortion. The neutral quality of audio while playing with this is pretty good as is. It is much louder then most in my experience. So the EQ benefits sound quality even at higher volumes compared to other androids. As a start, 2-4 db increase at low and high end should be your max. You can go a little higher on this but not much.. But on other models, over 2-3 and you risk a lot of distortion because of lack of earjack power.

For beats I use Sense 3.5 or Bliss 3.5 by Xboarder. You sacrifice the GPS, Bluetooth, You can use hotsport with Android Tether and You also Sacrifice USB Mounting but you can use recovery. I use that one because it has the Notify that shows the Beats Logo when ever you play music. But if you don't mind having that then their is bulletproof which fully running i think.

He's not asking what rom has Beats Software but what rom supports the Beats Headphones. To answer the question, all roms support the Headphones, it's just a matter with volume. You may have to plug it the headphones tighter or something may be broken, because they work fine for me.
Could always try one of those portable amps for high end headphones to help with the frequency range

Well he said he was experiencing bad volume. I tend to have better AUDIO OUTPUT vol, bass, and treb. with the software. Just trying to fix more than one issue that hes having.

All audio is different, it depends on the device but even if they were very loud you probably shouldn't use them at that volume anyway. However if you want to id suggest testing all the roms with the beats hack and see which one you find the best. The roms I know of with beats software are Bulletproof, Senseless, Sense 3.5 Alpha 2, and Bliss 3.5 Alpha 1. They have it preinstalled just plug and play. You have to activate on the Equalizer for BP and Senseless.
How can i get the software where i connect the headphone and the beats logo pops up in the notification?

So you're saying that so far only the Sensation XE and XL are the ones capable of using the buttons for the Dre Beats Headphones? No rom has gotten the headphone buttons to work for them?
Audio volume is a common android complaint amongst iPhone switched people... I don't know if our android devices are running lower wattage amps or what but my amaze is waaaay better than my Alcatel tribe or my hd2 was..
Volume boost has only blown the speaker on my tribe thanks to the rediculous distortion levels... If you want louder buy a car...lol jks

Update on this subject
Thought I should update people on this subject.
I went ahead and purchased a pair of Beats, but the ones that would usually come with the Sensation XE. I also happened to have the Klipsch S4A headphones. In all honesty, I can't say there is much of difference with the audio. I'm using the BulletProof ROM and it does have an equalizer setting for Beats. It can be activated with both sets of headphones though. I will admit the Beat headphones are a bit heavier in bass.
This thread shouldn't be this complex with such a variety of answers. Sense 3.5 ROMs have true Beats Audio (unlike beats Audio hack from 3.0) DL a sense 3.5 ROM if you want beats. Although, DSPManager on Sense 3.0 works just as well

Sent from my Energized HTC Ruby using XDA-Premium or Tapatalk
Yea Beats Audio with DSPM increases both volume and clarity and with beats headphones = awesomeness for your ears
Or ... just sayin ... wait for the ICS/Sense 4.0 update? Beats in 3.x apparently only works with the HTC Music app, but reports on the One X/S indicates that the updated Beats works with ALL music apps. I've been told anecdotally that ICS will require Sense 4.0, so we oughtn't see ICS with Sense 3.x.
I can wait.

Beats Audio essentially IS an EQ (a bad one at that) that cranks your bass and highs, and muddles everything in between. Sound is pretty great with it turned off.
I have also found the volume on this phone to be annoyingly low though - no idea how to fix that one. Anything below "half" on the volume meter is almost inaudible.

No, Beats is not supported. However, the audio quality is already very good and Supercurio is also working on his Voodoo kernel which improves the audio quality a lot (much better than Beats).

The wolfson audio codec in the gs3 is top quality stuff, its already amazing and with supercurio showing it some voodoo magic it will be the ****!

I agree with your point but the thanks were for the band in your signature!
I wouldn't call S3 sound quality bad but by no means would I call it good, because I've owned a lot of Nokias and the sound quality is just in a different league to Samsung, and I've tried Voodoo on my SGS1&2 but still not even close, and if I want to listen to some music I prefer to dig out my old N95.
Audio quality really depends on a lot of factors: music player, earphones, environment, music file, etc...
Comparing combinations of the above factors is impossible and counterproductive. It's better to compare each part of the "chain" individually.
So far the SGS3 comes very close to what I consider very good. It's not perfect, but then again, I'm waiting for Supercurio's work to be finished. Compared to my HTC Desire and my old iPod nano 2nd gen, it is really good and I hardly dare to ask for more.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
I tried same tracks, same headphones and same equalizer settings and also manually changing them, but my N95 beats it with maximum volume and all through the range, and I just find the S3 sound dull and muted in comparison.
Beat's is completely portable to the SIII.
This feature although controversial will be in our next Warm ROM installment for the SIII.

How to get Beats Audio on your SGS3:

2. Increase the gain of all low frequency bands to maximum

How is the quality of the loudspeaker for calls and music as compared to HTC One X and Samsung GS 3?
Anyone?
I, like everyone else who didn't get the phone at the announcement event, haven't received the phone yet. But this is definitely a question I would like to know the answer to also. I have had the Evo 4G, Evo 3D, and now the rezound and my least favorite part about all of them has been speaker volume and quality. I know that the DNA has a dedicated amplifier for the loudspeaker and the headphone jack (can't remember the exact wattage), so I am really hoping for the best here. I want to be able to watch and hear a YouTube video when i am in an area that isn't completely silent, something that I haven't been able to do with my last 3 phones. We should be getting our phones towards the beginning of next week and if you haven't gotten an answer by then I will post my findings here
Thanks mate... Look forward... Surprisingly I am not getting an answer to this question anywhere in the forum even though many seem to have the phone already! Anyways I look forward to your feedback.

OK, Received my phone this morning so here is my feedback. The speaker is excellent. It is quite loud and music is clear even all the way up. It's still a phone though so I don't see myself listening to music on the speaker. It is really good on headphones! Both are definitely better than S3 but can't speak to the One x.
