My TF201 is alive!
I have this problem since I bought it, but from time to time happens very rarely.
I post 2 video. In first video my TF201 change home screen pages randomly and this made my TF201, on second video TF201 does not want to turn it OFF and TF201 dont support my choice!
I need to make cold BOOT to back my prime on good way

Incredible, had the same thing right now! Now i try a cold boot. Incidentally, two hours ago i installed touchscreen tune and tuned. Maybe are these two things related?
Edit: a cold boot seems to have solved the problem, for now. Fingers crossed.

The first cold boot solved this problem for 30 minutes. Then i cold booted again and retuned the touch screen with less "aggressive" settings (before i could interact with the screen even not touching it but moving my finger 1-2 mm above it). Now after 3 hours of browsing and gaming everything is fine, no signs of self-moving from my prime.

i have the second problem too on my pad300...i set the screen sleep 15seconds when it happends to me , after all it happens very rarely ...

For the second time since I got my Prime yesterday, my screen has had a slow flickering fit. The soft buttons disappeared but still responded to touches, and the screen would flicker very tiny lines of color and slightly bounce at the edges. Anyone else experience this?

I'm not sure that it's a defect. I figure I'll give it some more time first. Also, it started happening after I installed 2 apps that weren't listed the market, which I sideloaded onto the tablet, so I'm wondering if they may have had something to do with it. I've since uninstalled them and will monitor the situation.

Wipe/factory reset it. If that doens't fix it, send it back for exchange/refund. I wouldn't want them trying to diagnose a wonky problem, get a fresh tablet.
Also, even though the flickering seems like it would be a hardware problem, the fact that the soft buttons disappear and the area turnaround black leads me to believe that it's some type of software problem, not a hardware defects.

I get it on some web pages and a lot on the bottom of the screen watching YouTube. I just started to get it while booting. It did a restart on me this morning. Factory reset sucks without nandroid. Asus, please let us root this....

I suspect that incompatible apps may have something to do with this. I sideloaded two unsupported apps and I got the flicker shortly after that. I uninstalled them yesterday and so far, so good. Also, I was getting a ton of reboots and crashes when I initially automatically loaded all of my phone apps onto the Prime. I did a factory reset and carefully chose my apps, and it's been much more stable since.
All of You just disable the auto brightness and the flickering is gone ;P

Thanks, but I'm talking about something different. It's a little hard to explain, but I wasn't complaining of flickering brightness. Rather, the picture itself would get all scrambled up.

Wow. So this EXACT thing just happened to me. I have no sideloaded apps and auto brightness is disabled. Over the course of several minutes, it went from a few glitchy lines to the entire screen and a complete lockup of the tablet. I held down the power button to reboot, and then came to find this thread...

I have the same problem. I had to reboot, since the tablet completely froze at one point with random lines across the screen.
Ever since I do see flickering of the Asus logo when booting but no more serious problems, such as a crash.
I will go on a two week busines trip outside the country and therefore womt return the TP - just hope it will not get worse.
That said, I am happy learn about a possible fix?

I have always had the glitching during bboot as well...but I've been staring at this thing almost non stop since the 22nd and this is the first time it has occurred. Dunno what's up but it makes me uneasy.

Hopefully it's nothing more than a graphics driver glitch that can be fixed with an update.

I am too, very uneasy with this issue.
Decided to do a last hard reset and if the flicker does not go away, I will return the TP tomorrow morning.
I hope that the hard reset will take care of the problem.
The boot up graphics flicker has been reported by others on another forum as well, they did note that it doesn't occur if you boot up with the Prime plugged in.
i've also noticed this problem, flickering/scrambling on boot during the ASUS bootup screen.. and i've also had quite a few random lockups, force closes and reboots... looks software related to me
firmware update this morning seems to have fixed the boot and browser flicker. Anyone else?

have not seen it after a factory reset, update this morning, and then two or three reboots. It was an addressed item in the release notes.
Software fixes are good!
So for some reason, after I did a root and bl unlock, my phone has been acting up. when I try to send a text, multiple keys become activated its like I have ghost fingers. and I've used multiple text apps. I've returned phone to stock and still same problem. any suggestions are welcome. or any idea why its happening
Same thing happens to me.
You experience random scrolling too?
Usually it's solved by turning off the screen and turning it back on (power button) and happens about 1/20 times of turning the screen on.
Touchscreen shuttering, same problem. Hardware (touchscreen) or...?
Solutions?

I have this same issue but I have chalked it up to being my sweaty hands. That's the only time it happens is when my hands are sweating.

Any solutions??

I've had this problem for months and am sure it's related to moisture on the screen rather than a ROM issue.
To fix it I used to have to turn the screen off, wipe it down completely and turn it back on. Also wiping my fingers dry helped.
Now, I have a glare reducing screen protector on it and the problem has basically gone away. I chose a glare reducing protector to give me slightly more texture to the screen. The default glass was just too smooth and sensitive.
Maybe ur matrix are haunted by a ghost apk......j.k
I´ve been having this issue since CM7.
When my screen is wet, it becomes completely unusable. Excessive dirt also causes this problem.
And a more important thing, i´m now using neutrino Rom, and i´ve noticed the now we can use the fingerprint reader as a scroll pad, and actually works pretty good.
Problem solved! I will post my solution later.
Please, post the solution. I'm having this problem, and I think it's software.

Hi
I've had my prime for quite a while now.
And since day one, the screen will turn on by itself several times a day.
(when in standby mode)
I have had this behavior on 3 different roms.
Current rom is EOS 2.0
Does anyone have an idea of what can cause this? Most likely an app that wakes the device.. So i have tried disabling facebook etc..
But are there any sensors that might wake it?
Also, if its an app or process - are there any apps or monitoring tools that can find out what exactly happened at the moment it woke ?
It's likely caused by an app. My old phone used to do this and my prime did it a couple times but hasn't since I reformatted it. What app it was I am unsure.
Same thing happens to my prime. I have gotten used to it. Turning the screen off again will do lol.

True enough, but when you are at work all day, and comes home to a discharged prime every day, you will get annoyed
It's all about the battery...
I noticed something odd yesterday.
If you slide the transformer over the docking, back and fourth - the screen will wake and close.
Its as if they are aware of each other. wierdness!
Anyhow, I thought I had found the solution to my problem with it waking up all the time. (I always have it lying on top of the docking, face up)
But no such luck, it still wakes byitself anywhere is lies. With reformatted ROM, no apps!

When you attach the pad to the dock, and close the lid, the pad will turn off the scren, like a netbook.

True enough.
But I mean, just placing your prime on the docking with the screen facing up. Not connecting the hinges.
Slide it horizontaly upwards against the hinges, and back again.
Then it will lit the display, and close it.. Just try it.
I have noticed a screen flicker down the left side of the screen in landscape mode , where the back soft key and home key disappears and flashes in and out
has any one else encountered this?
Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201 using xda premium
Yes I noticed it aswell, but its the whole bottome bar that jumps..
Let me just have a look there is a few post about the same issue.
just started happening on mine tonight. whole left side in landscape and the bottom started jumping around. rebooted but hasn't happened since
that happen to me when i had it a few dayz when i brought it then i decided to put a custom rom n no more
Same here, also yesterday evening in holland.
Wondering maybe Asus pushed an update orso?
It was gone after a reboot
so it wasnt just mine, I thought it may have been faulty
yet it may be a Software issue, I havent had an upgrade yet since the initial release of 4.0.3
is there another one out?

If the screen is not all white then you have LCD problem.
If all white that's mean your LCD is good, maybe try flash another ROM or factory reset.

Sounds like you're having the same problem as me. You only have a single line though, while 2/3 of my display is like this. Mine gets like this whenever it's a little under room temperature, and it's a hardware defect according to Sony.
Post some pictures though. It could be software related (if you're lucky).

My XZU has this 1x1 cms 'purple cloud' at top mid center of screen all the time. I see it at the phone boot animation also. Its not captured on screen. So I guess its an LCD burn mark
Its visible only at medium and high brightness on a black background. Not on white background.

Just checked out your video, and i'm having this issue too. That's called "ghosting", and that means that the response time of the screen has gone to hell. The issue gets triggered on mine when the temperature drops a little.
Try this:
- Is it functioning normally in room temperature? If yes, put the phone in your refrigerator for 2-3 minutes and see if it's still functioning properly. If not, well.. then you're having the same issue as me, and i've talked to Sony, and it's a hardware defect and you'll have to use your warrenty and get a new screen. I sent mine in for repairs today, so i'm crossing my fingers.
IF you decide to send it in for repairs, remember to call them and ask them to do whatever triggers the issue, or else they'll simply re-flash the firmware and call it a day. That's what happened to me the first time, and you don't want that to happen

Alright, so it's the same issues as i have, and it's a production error according to Sony, so you'll have to send it in for repair. This is strangly enough only the second case where this happens, that i've read or heard about (including my own Ultra), so it doesn't seem to be that big of an issue. It could simply be an issue on a batch of Ultras that we got. It's a really strange defect though.
Alright, so I got my Ultra back yesterday with a new screen, and the problem is solved. I tested it by leaving it in my refrigerator for about 5 minutes, and there were no signs of slowdowns or other defects, so that's the way to go
