Hi all,
I have an HD2 with Paranoid Android (1.4a CM9 NAND), along with Supercharger V6 and Mounts2sd 4.5.0.
I'm experiencing some phone audio issues that pop up and then mysteriously go away again. Specifically I cannot hear the audio from the other caller and the only way to have the conversation is by turning on speakerphone (which always works but is quite inconvenient). The other party can always hear me alright.
Anyone else experiencing this? I think this may be related to my Skype, Linphone and CSipsimple installations too but I'm not sure where to look to start debugging. In fact I notice the same strange behavior sometimes in skype too.
Thanks,
Janus
Here's some debug log info:

Added more specific debug logs regarding the audio issue.
Hopefully someone can help out and/or a mod can move this thread into the ParanoidAndroid ROM thread?
Thanks
Bump. Anyone?
If no one can help with the audio issues, can someone suggest a stable barebones ICS ROM for the HD2?
I like Paranoid Android but I rather have a barebones ROM that has few bugs than a fully loaded buggy one (at least that has been my experience with audio in PA 1.4a Nand).
Thanks

For educational purposes I'm trying to understand how audio is routed from/to the radio during a voice call. By running strace on my N1 I was able to see this:
- Audio is played back to the AudioFlinger (i see write() to /dev/msm_pcm_out)
- Recording is not done using msm_pcm_in - maybe DMA directly to the modem?
- Most of the work is done in the propriety libhtc_ril.so
Couldn't find anywhere in the source code where an AudioTrack is created for the voice call.
If anyone could shed some light on this I'd be grateful.
Thanks.
Has anyone managed to fix the VoIP echo problem in any of the 1.6-2.1 releases for this phone?
Apparently the issue is a bad audio driver from Sony Ericsson... some of the speaker audio gets mixed in with the mic signal, producing a very pronounced echo for the person on the far end of the call.
This issue has been consistent across many different VoIP apps that I've tried. I'm connecting to an Asterisk PBX over WiFi, so there shouldn't be any issues with bandwidth.
Thread moved to Q&A.
I experience the same problem. I'm using CSipSimple on a VoIP platform I know very well. I tried different type of echo cancellations (expert mode in csipsimple) and played with the tail length but nothing works since it's a X10 bug.
My guess is somebody has to take a look at the source of the audio driver and fix it. I don't have a clue where to start.
Any help would be appreciated.
so terrible....
In GB the bug is still there I am running 2.3.3 WB ROM
I can't understand it, Nobody uses voip?
I surfed over all Internet and don't seem to be any solution for this trouble, headsheets and not more...
Change to Samsung Galaxy S
I have a rooted Atrix [1st one] with CM7 rom. Recently, I have started noticing that there is a continuous buzz sound from my speaker when I open an application like youtube/playerpro/any-game capable of playing audio. It's like a constant hiss/static sound and is pretty loud [easily noticeable].
The sound is there even : -- if I set all the volume-levels to zero when playing games like FieldRunners; -- I can hear it even if the video is paused in youtube/music is paused in the music player (player pro).
The sound will be gone if exit/force stop the corresponding application.
I don't know if its a hardware issue with my speaker or some issue with the installed CM7 ROM [I even turned on/off all the DSP Manager effects that come with CM with no results].
Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.
Wipe cache, date... the lot. Did you do it yet?
Yes matthew5025 .... I wiped cache/dalvik/data etc every time I update the ROM to new weekly release [data > not every time] ...
A Gentle bounce
Well I ported MIUI to my device, using a CM10 base. I know the last guy that managed MIUI for my phone had switched to an AOKP base because of this exact issue.
When playing music and plugging in headphones, audio continues to play through speakers instead of rerouting to the headphones.
I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue that can help. I tried searching around, but nobody said anything on how they fixed it, except switching to an AOKP base.
I think this is the issue
Code:
D/AudioSessionOutALSA( 139): Pausing the driver
D/ALSAStreamOps( 139): setParameters(): keyRouting with device 2
D/ALSADevice( 139): route: devices 0x2 in mode 0
D/ALSADevice( 139): No valid input device: 0
But I am not sure.. Here's the entire logcat if anyone wants to take a look

{All 2011}[DEV][ROM][LineageOS 14.1] video recordings: sound too low & suddenly stops
@AdrianDC
Hello.
I am already running CM14 (almost stable and VERY fast!) on my SE Ray.
Using Adrian's fantastic ROM 'lineage-14.1-20170514-UNOFFICIAL-LegacyXperia-urushi'.
VERY GOOD work, really !!!
JUST the following 2 remaining problems I noticed (point 1 also at cm13):
1.) The microphone sensitivity for audio and video recordings is generally much too low. (not at calls!)
Which Android system file sets the mic gain? I would like to modify this setting. (or does this adaption work in another way?)
2.) Always after about 30...40 seconds of video recording the sound signal is not been recorded anymore. Just silence then. Really strange. There is no error message.
Does anybody else noticed those phenomena as well? Who could help to fix this bug?
And does anybody know AdrianDC and how I could get him to answer?...
Or is there still anybody else supporting the SEMC 2011 devices?...
Thank you very much for any help!!
