[Q] LOts of problems with my LWW - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

I have successfully rooted and installed installed CWM on GB but when i try to root it again it shows adb drivers are out of date. can anybody give me correct full
drivers for my lww and is it not possible to unlock bootloader using test point method for lww.

If it's rooted already, why would you need to try and root it again? Do you mean you're trying to unlock the bootloader?
Follow this tutorial:
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Sony_Ericsson_Live_with_Walkman:_Full_Update_Guide
That is what I used, obviously if you're not installing CM7, then stop after you've unlocked the bootloader. The test-point method if I got this right is only if you've got some kind of locked status on your bootloader that you can't unlock as per normal.
There's a code you can enter to check it, I think it goes like *#*#73... etc etc. look for it on the forums, or tutorials, it will tell you whether your bootloader is able to be unlocked or not.

i dialed that number it is showing Bootloader Unlock Allowed: Yes

Here is an automated process:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1560613
What are you exactly trying to do?

I already mentioned this in another thread, but if you're using Windows, you should check task manager for multiple adb.exe processes instances. When i exited Flashtool, adb.exe remained opened and it caused similar problems. If that's your problem too, kill them all, and run flashtool again.
But like RavingManiac said, there's no need to root your phone if you already got root access

[Update] Well this is unfortunate...

Good day
I need help
I've been looking at tripnravers roms on modaco when I noticed rendeiro2005's bootloader cracking thread(copied from the_laser) in which he forgot to mention that if you've unlocked your phone with any other service than the_laser's (i unlocked at rendeiro's site -.-)your phone won't have any network ><
So I unlocked my bootloader and then flashed doom's boot manager (before I had wolfbreaks 6 w/ locked bootloader kernel by doom) and after reboot i've ofc realized i don't have any network and used the_laser's tool to relock my bootloader.
I went into xrec cleaned my system data etc (I believe this is where I went wrong)
and installed wolfs v6 again
I came to pin enter screen after which I would only see dark blue background and nothing on it
I reflashed stock 2.3 rom and its still the same problem
Hope you can help me out :/

To solve this I think you have to relock your bootloader...
Edit: Technically your device is not a brick since it can still run. However it has become a PDA now =(
Well as I said I have relocked it with the tool the_laser provided and when I press "restore" I get a message like its already restored
And yeh... well was hoping for some good luck
Ask the laser! You might have to use his Sim unlock tool.. He said something about this before
Tbh at this point I don't even care about unlocked bootloader I just want everything functional again ><

Actually no I haven't
I'm going to give it a try as soon as I can
Ok tried SEUS - Nope (Dunno why I did it as it does the same thing as the flashtool)
Can't get back my xrec for unlocking and flashing again since I don't have usb debugging on... haha ><

why you need xrec?
the method to unlock is you need Azuzu flash tool and the_laser unlocking tools.
did you already check 9Luka5 unlock method? (simplified from the_laser)
let me simplified the method more for you.
5 IMPORTANT STEPS:
1. Check your sim is lock or unlock, semc or setool (file here: s1tool.7z )
-this step to show you should do the unlocking or not and also to determine which file you need to open at step number 4 later (qsd8250_semc or qsd8250_setool2)
2. Check your windows can detect your phone driver or not.
-open your window Device Manager (during phone connected)
-if your phone driver is not found (still got !), install ggsetup-2.2.0.11
-check your window Device Manager again if the phone driver still got "!" or not.
-if no more "!" proceed to next step
3. Downgrade your kernels
-Use Androxyde flashtool OR aZuZu modified flashtool to downgrade Kernels
Kernels : Kernel downgrade file
4. Unlocking your bootloader (Files: ( View attachment 713198)
-after you downgrade the kernel, try to reconnect the USB cable and wait until flashtool detect your x10.
-after flashtool detected your x10, open file (do not press anykey yet) above make sure you choose qsd8250_semc for those who is SEMC locked or qsd8250_setool2 is for setool locked sim from the 1st step.
-after you open one of those file, close your flashtool. and then you can press anykey of those unlocking bootloader cmd.
-close those cmd and your phone is officially unlocked
*sony erricson words still appear when you start boot your phone unless you process to final step below.
5. Final step
-this step is up to you....but note that your phone is still with downgraded kernels and without wifi modules.
-if you plan to use stock kernel, flash this using flashtool and use xrecovery afterward to flash stock wifi modules
but i recommend you directly flash DooMLord's Boot Manager
Enjoy
hit thanks if i helped you.
those all above i took from the_laser, 9Luka5, Androxyde, aZuZu, DooMLord and anyone that i forgot to mentioned
*if found it wrong, please correct me if im wrong
Well the problem is I can't turn on USB debugging so flashtool doesn't detect my X10 (for step 4)
USB debugging can be activated inside application settings.
Did you even read the thread?
Once I enter my PIN I can only see dark blue background...
Ok I've got a plan but I need help
I need to turn on my usb debugging without using the interface on my phone
Is it possible to do it with pushing a file or doing a cmd in adb?
Ehh so if anyone gives a damn anymore , it seems it only happens when I have a SIM card in my phone otherwise it works

[Q] nOOb help request for first time rooting.

Hey all,
I got an Xperia Mini and want to root it. I have read through the forum and threads and I think I have an idea, but I want confirmation.
I have the 4.0.2.A.0.62 kernel.
The help here said that I must follow the instructions of the tutorial here. My questions are:
1) It says Please note that this is only applied to devices with unlocked bootloader. Is my phone's bootloader unlocked as is now? Do I have to do anything to unlock?
2) I don't understand the second step properly. Do I turn the phone off. Hold the volume button and while holding it, attach the USB cable to the PC? Does that put the phone in fastboot mode? What about any drivers the computer would need to talk to the phone?
When I use the phone's dialer app, there are these things in the corners when I am talking and I end up tapping the hold button often. I want to get rid of that. Is there a way to do that?
Thanks for any help
use this if u want to unlock bootloader, u cant go wrong using this.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1560613
after successfully unlock, u can just flash any custom kernel using that tool too. the kernel will root your phone automatically.

Hey man,
Thanks for that. I bought the phone off amazon. Is there anyway to check if the bootloader is already unlocked? Would there be issues if I tried to unlock the bootloader with the tool you linked to if it is already unlocked?

I was going to use the zergrush method, but there was a note that said that if you have the 0.62 firmware, you should follow the fastboot method for which I need an unlocked bootloader.
open the phone dialpad and type *#*#7378423#*#*, the select service info, then configuration.
lowest line under "rooting status" what does it say?
Bootloader unlock allowed: Yes
your bootloader is still locked and can be unlocked. u can proceed with the unlock tool if u want.
btw forgot to mention, if u managed to unlock u can check in the same menu and it'll show "Bootloader unlocked: Yes". and good luck with it
You don't need to unlock your bootloader to Root your phone. You can downgrade to .58 using Flashtool or WontanServer and then root through Zergrush method

You can download busybox installer from play store and try different versions of busybox try older versions. Also if you are using Titanium backup click on "having problems" and it will also install busybox for you.
Another thing you can do is install supersu and update binary. Cheers
What about bootloader? Have u unlocked it? Did u s-offed?
i don't have s-off. but i understood something: somehow i managed to make it work, i mean when in root checker, when i pushed "verify root" it asked superuser permission. but after i connected with pc to put an apk file it didn't work. i can't understand why this happens and if i fix this can i connect to pc again without broking?
forgot to mention: i unlocked the bootloader when trying a guide and i installed busybox (1.21) before root broke down again...please HELP

OK. My personal advice. Find the RUU that suits your device. Just Google it. Lock your bootloader. For that put your device into the fastboot and enter: fastboot oem lock. And install RUU.
Then go to htcdev.com and unlock your bootloader.
Using QuickRoot tool root your device.
I think this is smoothest in your case.

According to your CID your device made for Eastern Europe.
1. First of all make a gold card of your EXTERNAL not INTERNAL SD. How to make a gold card. Make it using card reader.
2. Gogle and download OFFICIAL RUU. For example RUU_Flyer_HTC_WWE_2.23.405.3_R_Radio_20.3504.30.089BU_3809.07.04.06_M_release_204108_signed.exe
3. Run RUU on your computer.
That's it.
i made the gold card, i installed ruu, but i used revolutionary to s-off. however, when trying to flash superuser with recovery, it showed me a phone with a triangle and an exclamation mark. i tried unlocking bootloader, but when tiping "fastboot oem get_identifier_token" it sais command error.

Hi there,

[Q] Xperia Z Ultra bootlloader/Root questions

Hello everyone.
I had posted this in the Z forum, not realizing there was a Z Ultra forum. So I will just quote my previous post and add some info at the end:
Hello guys. New guy here with an Xperia Z Ultra phone.
I'm trying to load the Paranoid Android custom ROM.
Had a couple of questions:
1. I went thru Sony's instructions to unlock the bootloader. When I ran the fastboot -i 0x0fce oem unlock (e-mail code), the first error message I got was "FAILED - Remote - Command did not succeed". So I tried the exact command again, and then I got "FAILED - Remote: The device is already rooted".
I have searched high and low, and cannot seem to find any way to verify that the bootloader is now in fact unlocked.
2. Reading the instruction on how to install CWM/TWRP recovery menus, Every single list of instructions includes the following "This tutorial is only for Sony Xperia Z Ultra with 510 and 493 LTE firmware. Do not use it for any other carriers or variants"
Again, I have searched high and low to find a way to confirm what firmware version I have. All I know is I have the C6806 model, with the build number: 14.2.A.0.290
So can someone please help out a very confused guy here? I don't want to brick my phone by accident
So far it's still working ok

So far, after doing some major searching, I seem to have found that I currently have "290" Firmware, and that this Firmware is currently NOT able to be rooted. Is this correct?
Also, I still have not found a way to verify wether the boot loader actually did unlock or not. From what I have been able to read, it seems that if a proper boot loader was in fact, unlocked, it would have wiped all the data on my phone along with the SD card data.
So far, it seems everything on my phone is intact. So does this mean the boot loader unlock command failed for me? If so, why did I get the reply "this device is already rooted?"
I can't believe how difficult it is to root a damn Android phone! Jailbreaking an Apple device is 10 times easier!
First of all, it's usually pretty easy to root Android devices. In most cases it's only a simple click, but sony has done a good(?) job at fixing exploits, so it does it much harder for us.
Second, you can check if your bootloader is locked or unlocked by opening the dialer and insert *#*#7378423#*#*, go to "Service Info" and then "Configuration". If your bootloader is unlocked, it should say "Rooting status: Bootloader unlocked: Yes". It's easier to use Flashtool to unlock the bootloader if you're having issues using a terminal.
You'll find the rest here (including bootloader unlocking). If you need some help, ask in that thread.
If you aren't boot loader unlocked then "BACKUP TA PARTITION" from My Lord's guide @LordManhattan
Just incase you need to re-lock it for service

First of all it' pretty damn complicated and unrewarding to root a Sony device. Not all android but Sony definately. We checked, bootloader is unlockable. We unlocked and relocked bootloader prevoiusly because there is no robust, easy-to-install ROM for ZU. But time to time we try to root it.
Now, the question is the same: what should we do to re-unlock the bootloader if anything is OK, but flashtool says "Command did not succeed" for the first time and "Device is already rooted" for subsequent times at unlocking?
Please write some advice about the question, not about TA backup and your success. Thx!

Bootloader unlocking is a straight forward process. I've had a couple of strange errors in Flashtool while trying to unlock the bootloader, but just close Flashtool and try again. Also be sure to be on the latest version of Flashtool.

No sir, not at all. I wrote please, no demanding. Well yes, I'm a bit picky because there were no answer and I usually find some on XDA. Besides I used custom roms on Samsung devices for years (SGS2, SGN, SGN2) and I was disapponted when I bought my XZU that there are very few roms and I couldn't use them (I managed with very hard work to go back to stock in 9 hours after unsuccesful flashing).
So there is some basic problem every time. Like trying to root but cannot re-unlock because of some mysterious errors with no solutions.
Enough of my problems, your answer is much appreciated, will try to re-unlock some time. Thx!

Oh, i get that. I came from Samsung myself, and this is my first Sony device ever, so I've had some issues myself. I've gotten the same error message(s) as you before, and i think i restarted Flashtool and rebooted my Ultra and it was back to normal again - i think, but it "fixed itself" after trying a couple of times, so don't give up. It's also important to always be on the latest version of Flashtool.
It would also help us if you could tell us what you're trying to achieve, so you don't end up spending 9 hours on something that takes 5 minutes
@Champdor
From what I can make out you have never managed root your phone or back up the TA. If the latter is true then there is very little point in relocking the bootloader.
Yes the process is a little harder than Samsung, but the last device I rooted was a ZTE, and that was even harder to root and flash from what I can remember (yes this is my first Sony device as well, and I will buy another...)
Take you time and read the stickies that we have written and all should go well. Don't be afraid to ask (intelligent) questions if you get stuck, and read some more

I have not had this error so have not tested this, but what happens if you flash a full FTF and wipe everything then try to unlock the BL?
And remember that you can take a backup of the unlocked BL (re member to name it as such) and just flash that to unlock again. Doing it this way you don't get the format that happens when using the unlock code.
I followed this post to downgrade, root, i use Backup TA v9.10 to backup DRM Keys, use Flashtool 0.9.14.0 to unlock Bootloader, then to flash other Rom's (stock and customs), came back to Stock Rom .681, relock the Bootloader with Flastool 0.9.15.0 flashed the last .757 and unlock the Bootloader again with no kind of problems using Flashtool 0.9.15.0....

[Q] Flash APK to Locked Bootloader

I have xperia pro and rooted it with eroot. Bootloader is not unlocked. When I flash APKs using ADB or Fastboot it gives error that device is not rooted but superuser is already there on the phone. I don't know if I can flash APKs to locked bootloader. I tried everything CWM but doesn't go into recovery mode.

What do you mean by "flash apk" ? If it is install then adb install apkname.apk should work...

[TOOL]Kernel/Boot.img (un)packer
Actually I am trying to install Cybershot APK which will replace my original Camera app but still after rooting it is not allowing to do that.
Is this because I don't have unlocked bootloader???
But in the threads it said that you just need rooted phone.
So please let me know if I can replace standard APKs with custom ones in locked bootloader.

Yes, you only need an unlocked bootloader. Mount system as RW. And then replace the cam app in /system/priv-app, but I would suggest you to unlock bootloader, install cwm and make a nandroid

My work:

[ZIP]Flashable zip to bypass lockscreen for LG E975
But can I backup locked bootloader. If in case phone gets issues like bootloop and all can I lock my phones bootloader again.
If I unlocked bootloader then can I able to use repair operation from Sony PC Companion.
Like yesterday I tried to delete all system files from root and my phone was not able to start. So what I have done is repaired it using PC Companion and it has been started.
I mean to say can I backup my existing ROM, bootloader and all and if so can you please let me the process to do so.
Because there are so many threads and there are so many applications to do it and I am not able to figure out the correct procedure.
I also have the RW permissions and can replace the app but its meta files and all will not be replaced then. So do you know method to flash this APK.

Bootloop is a different term. It is because of bad ROM, once you unlock bootloader, nothing can relock it except you do it. So nothing to be scared of.
