[Q] nothing but bootloader what to do? - HTC EVO 3D

i was trying to update to kingcobra rom didnt back anything up it flashed successfully but now my phone is stuck at the boot up screen any help what to do???

Did you wipe before you flashed ? A lot of things could cause that.
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium

Ah, you're S-on, correct?
Please read the thread for the ROM before you flash it.
If you're flashing that particular ROM and you're S-On, you must follow this to flash the boot.img.
Flashing the kernel using fastboot:
Reboot your phone into "fastboot" mode using the "Booting into Fastboot Mode" instructions
Connect the phone to the computer using the USB cable
Download this kernel to a folder on your computer (eg: c:\boot.img)
Flash the kernel using the command: "fastboot flash boot c:\boot.img"
Reboot your phone with the command "fastboot reboot"

Did you boot your recovery using fastboot? If not, that's the problem. Unless you boot recovery using fastboot, then your boot partition won't get flashed, thus meaning that your kernel doesn't get flashed. That means you'll bootloop. On your computer, open up a command prompt. Navigate to the folder that contains your recovery.img. Then do "adb reboot bootloader" (w/o the quotes). Then do "fastboot boot recovery.img" (or whatever the name of your recovery.img is...it may not be 'recovery.img'. If it's twrp2.img, or whatever, type that). That should boot your phone into recovery, and from there you'll be good. Your boot partition will be flashed. So try booting to recovery that way and then try restoring a nandroid. If that doesn't work, boot to recovery the way I said, and try flashing a rom from scratch, after a full wipe of course.

Download and install HTC Sync for the EVO3D here: http://dl3.htc.com/application/sync/htc_sync_3.0.5617_us.exe
you might have to reboot your pc, but then it should recognize it.

[q] help!!!!!! Bricked e3d recovery jacked up stuck in bootloader!!!

For people who came for an answer, here it is.
download android sdk
download fastboot drivers
get clockworkmod img and rename to imgfile.img
put img in adb tools
put adb, adbwinapi, fastboot, and the img file in c:/Android
plug your phone to the computer
enter the bootloader
click on recovery or fastboot doesnt matter since both will now take you to fastboot
goto computer
type in run in start menu
type cmd in run and hit enter
type cd c:\Android
type fastboot boot imgfile.img
you are now in recovery
go to mounts and storage and mount your device as a disk drive
download any rom to your computer doesnt really matter and put in on your sdcard. If you already have a rom on there then just use that.
unmount your phone
go to wipe data/factory reset and when it finishes flash the rom
once rom is done flashing reboot into android again.
your phone is partially fixed
now go to the market (if you flashed cm then flash the gapps.zip) and download "rom manager"
Then click on download clockworkmod 5.0.0.2 or something like that (first option)
Now go to rom manager and restore your backup that u made (If there was 1 before)
now it will be fixed and your bootloader will take u to recovery instead of fastboot when you click recovery xD
thanks xda
I flashed a rom and the rom must have been corrupted or something and now my phone is stuck rebooting and when I try to go to recovery or any option it takes me to fastboot so now my phone is basically bricked
Your phone is not bricked since your still able to turn it on.
Can you enter fasboot USB?
Send from my Evo 3D using Tapatalk
well it doesnt really turn on its a boot loop but whatever and fastboot is weird it doesnt want to work.
If your bootloader is unlocked make sure you flash the boot.img through fastboot and make sure you wipe

Are you S-Off or S-On? If S-Off, download a PG86IMG.zip of a recovery, and use your bootloader to flash recovery. From that point, just restore a backup or reflash a ROM. If you're not S-Off, I'd say you should try running an RUU, since you can't get fastboot to work. But I think you need to relock your device to run an RUU (if you're S on/ HTC Unlocked), so you'd still need fastboot. Do you have a different USB cable to try? I've seen them fail before even though they still work to charge.

Sounds like the drivers arn't installed right.. Like you said if he is S-ON and relocked he can run a RUU exe if he is CDMA...
If you are s off then you just need to reload another recovery. And then access a backup of a rom! Or just flash a new one. I had a issue just like this yesterday where my recovery was broken for some reason and had to go from twrp. 2.1 back to 1.1.1 and load another rom.

I am cdma, s-off unlocked with revolutionary kernel 1.4
oops not kernel hboot
Ok, fail, i dont think i hav fastboot drivers downloading now
now cmd is stuck on "sending recovery"
Did you place a copy of the img into your fast boot folder and one in your adb tools folder ???

Newbie Need help flashing via fastboot

Can anyone guide me the way how to flash via fastboot.I'm confused.Guide me steps by steps, what should i do...Does it needs any software or etc..I've root the device & wanted to flash the roms.I did flash the roms.right after flash he rom,i had to extract the boot.img from the ROM.zip and flash it via fastboot.."fasboot flash boot boot.img"
This part i'm confused at..Pls help me ..Thanks in advanced..
If you have acheived S-Off via HTCDev, you will need to extract the boot.img from the ROM.zip and flash it via fastboot
"fasboot flash boot boot.img"
If you don't have good experience in flashing, I'd be very careful, you can easily brick it. There is nothing wrong with staying on a stock ROM, I find the stock to be stable and fast.
there is also nothing wrong with reading up and learning. a simple google search of adb and fastboot commands will give you something to work off of
...and when you're confident in proceeding... be careful with your spelling.
"fasboot flash boot boot.img" - No
"fastboot flash boot boot.img" - Yes

[Help] Phone won't boot. Keep restarting phone

My phone stuck at the HTC boot screen. so here what happens :
Just got a new evo 3d (GSM). everything are locked, stock, a new virgin evo 3d (GSM).
locked, hboot 1.53.007, s-on
so what i did:
1. Unlock my phone with htc's way
2. Installing cwm 5.
3. Installing SU
4. directly enter cwm and install rom without downgrading hboot and s-off.
5. after flashing 3 types of roms, the results are still the same. it stuck at the 1st boot htc logo.
I was thinking of downgrading hboot and get the phone on s-off before retry to flash the roms again. but from the tutorial listed, they said need to on the phone, put on charging mode and debugging on. how im gonna boot up to android and proceed with that if i cant even on the phone?
However i still can go to the hboot screen and cwm. Can anyone guide me how to fix this?

As said above, you need to flash the boot.img from the rom.
Put it in de fastboot folder on your harddrive
in cmd:
fastboot flash boot (location of boot.img)
And try wiping everything and reflashing a few times.

You need to flash the kernel via fastboot.
Extract the boot.img from the rom on your computer.
Place fastboot.exe and boot.img in a folder.
Open command prompt and cd to the folder.
Power down phone. Hold volume down plus power. Select fastboot with power button.
Plug phone into computer. Phone screen should now say fastboot usb. If not, you need htc drivers for computer.
Now go to command prompt again.
Type exactly "fastboot flash boot boot.img" without quotes. Computer screen will do some stuff... phone will reboot... whala.
Oh, format boot partition with 4ext before starting all this.
sudo passwd root

cant boot after "fastboot flash boot twrpfilename.img"

Hey guys.
SGP312 model here, unlocked bootloader.
not sure what i did wrong here - i got to Fastboot mode and the blue light is on, when i run "Fastboot devices" i get the device name.
so i followed the explanation here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/xp...pment/ub-twrp-v3-2-1-xperia-tablet-z-t3735110
and did: "fastboot flash boot twrp-3.2.1-0-pollux_windy.img"
however, now my phone won't boot, and when i type "adb reboot recovery" i get "error: device not found" (even thought "Fastboot devices" gives me a response")
i tried fixing it with Flashtool, and everything works well until i get to "Wait for Flashmode" and im instructed to "unplug, power off, pres vol down, plug in USB cable" - this simply doesn't do anything =X
so.... how do i get out of this? all i want to do is install one of the newer roms from the forum (either Marshmallow or Oreo)
can anyone help me get out of this issue i've gotten myself into?

you flashed recovery to boot. So only recovery exists in boot section.
Of course tablet won't boot afterwards, as there is not kernel.
Download custom rom you want to install, unpack boot.img from roms zip files and flash via "fastboot flash boot boot.img"
Afterwards enter recovery and flash custom rom zip, gapps or whatever you need.
