why cant i call up contacts in my inbox while writing an sms? i own a t-mobile. i can only send sms to my contacts from the sms icon in the tray.
my contacts in my inbox is empty.
has anyone also had this problem?
thanx for your help...
Hmmmm... I never saw any contacts folder in my inbox. Maybe someting with ActiveSync went wrong with your device?
Or do you mean when tapping on the "To:" line the MDA will show an empty contacts list?
AFAIK the list will only show phone numbers entered as mobile numpbers and email adresses. Other phone numbers won't show because they're not supposed to receive SMS, which of cause is not always true.

thanx, i'll try to change the numbers then into mobile numbers.
I'm having an issue with the stock mail app (aside from its crappy large font and horrid UI)
When I recieve an HTML email e.g. a notification from Facebook or from a company advertising something - I can't asee the text.
Facebook emnails have the blue hyperlinks but if it was a notification of a message, I can see the friend names and pics but not the comment/text next to the name???
Is very annoying as I have a yahoo mail account and several gmail acocutns and want to be able to have everything in one place.
Any ideas?
Will try K9 in meantime but wondered if anyone else has this issue and whether its an S3 issue or an ICS 4.0.x issue??
Thanks
The stock mail app is horrible. In some circumstances it'll draw white text on a white background, thus causing your problem of missing text in emails. It also has a bug where the compose text field prevents you from selecting text properly (text selection handles are bugged).
I've rooted and replaced it with the stock ICS mail app. Tried K9 but it kept crashing. ICS Mail app isn't great either, sometimes it takes an age to check for mails, also the folders are badly organised e.g. browsing to Drafts on my gmail account takes me to a different (in app) drafts folder, and I have to navigate to [google mail] -> drafts to find the correct gmail folder. I wish IMAP clients would have options to map in app folders to their correct IMAP locations.
I have K9 and so far not crashing but in comparison to the previous stock mail app I had on my HTC Desire HD they are both horrid.
Thats probably the only bit i miss as the s3 is superior in every way but the email handling is poop.
Ideally google would open out the gmail app to allow other imap accounts, e.g. yahoo and then i could have it all in one place and it look nice.
That or someone port the htc maill app over.
Hi everybody, i have S3 and also facing the same problem with my IMAP account. S3 make its own "send" items folder and not synchronize it with my IMAP one. Can I change the "Samsung send" folder to IMAP send folder?
I have a question about the E-Mail icon.
I use the mail default mail [email protected] my phone for about 3 E-Mail accounts. The problem is, only the E-Mail Icon for collected E-mail accounts shows the total number of "unread" Mails for all accounts, if I add for each account a seperate E-mail icon no number for unread Mails is visible for that account.
So my questions is:
How can I configure the Mail app for each account with each icon, so that it shows me the number of unread messages for that specific -E-mail account.
Thanks
Nobody has an idea?
Hello,
I've looked everywhere, but I can't figure out how to or if there is an app that will let me create a calendar entry from a text message, email or from the phone dialer. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!

I restored sms using SMS backup+ but it's all screwed up. The order the text messages appear in seems to be random, for example a text message I got yesterday is way down the list. Also inside the thread for a specific contact, it's in reverse order. So the most recent message is at the top and I have to scroll all the way up. How do I fix this?
I know all the data should be there because I had all text messages email to my gmail account.
Have you rebooted after the restore? I often find that fixes these kind of things.
