1 gb approx for apps, but you can make an sd extension to have more space.
Don't know about 1080p as I've never used it.
I thunk the only thing left not working in cyanogenmod is 3d.
What device do you currently have?

Currently a ate blade but i had optimus 2x for a long time and loved it. Sold it for a bigger screen went toptimus 3d and hated it slower, less app space, battery hungry bad cm. Went for an xperia Neo v. Liked it a bit. Traded it for the blade.
Now i want something better the lgs i had.
I am between the evolution and Motorola razr.

The 3d aspect

I am interested to hear what u guys are interested in looking, playing or watching in 3d once you get the evo 3d.

obvious answer: porn
but i want to play some 3d games and watch any kind of 3d movie..prefer action etc, i don't even know what movies are in 3d, idc though.
honestly the 3D aspect of the phone for me is just novelty till the 3D takes off fully, for now the main reason im getting the EVO 3D is because of the Specs this beast is carrying. 3d is just a plus, to show off for me.
Honestly, I'm not very interested in the 3D. I can imagine if/once I bought EVO 3D, I would be spending most of the time wondering how much lighter/thinner it would be without the 3D inside.
I understand and agree the 3d aspect is just a novelty. but as we all know we would all be liars if we claimed we would not once use the 3d aspect of this device. My question was more geared towards what are u interested in seeing when you use it even if ur just using it to test it out. Any one buying this just for the 3d does not need this device they need a view master

After playing with a 3DS I'm very excited for the Evo 3D. Looking forward to augmented reality apps and games. Even subtle 3D upgrades to apps like Google maps, etc I think will add a lot to the mobile experience.
Maybe I think I can only use the 3D camera to take some photo or video.
I've been playing NOVA on the optimus 3D and have to say it adds quite a bit to the experience. Plus youtube 3D is pretty entertaining when your bored =D
I'd probably just use it to watch movies etc. But from everything I've seen so far, it doesn't look like it's going to blow the EVO away. Lots of small things lost. (hdmi, charger on the side, etc)
Hdmi is not lost. It is integrated into the charger port. In fact hdmi is actually upgraded to full hdmi mirroring. That means anything on ur screen will be mirrored onto the tv screen.

totally right.
charger on the side is def not worth the upgrade from 1x 1ghz to 2x1.2ghz.
=P and like above poster said, HDMI is done through the USB port now.
although i had the Bold 9650 and the charger port was literally on the side next to the enter/backspace key...you had to hold the phone WAY awkward to type with it...when on every other Bold phone they had it on the bottom i'm p.sure.
If the charging port is HIGH enough to allow portrait typing still, it will be fine, but if its down low next to where the keyboard is, it will be a nuisance, one i could deal with for the amount of hardware upgrade this phoen is.
I wanna know whether we can browse the interface [htc 3.0] in 3D too?? like LG OPTIMUS 3d?

Motorola Photon Optimal Handbrake Settings

Can someone post the optimal handbrake settings for handbrake to rip movies to the photon. I ripped movies for my epic and they don't play now on the photon. I assume because of the h264 incompatibility. so for now what settings should i be using ?
I'm also interested in this.
I use just the normal settings, but don't know if that's "optimal"
Why not just use the evo 3D's settings for non 3D movies? Its the same 960x540 settings, same resolution, and same formats.
http://www.knowyourcell.com/htc/htc...deos_and_transfer_them_to_the_htc_evo_3d.html
These settings should be "optimal" for the photon.

These should be known as 'the Photon settings' instead of the evo 3D's - because everything else is inferior.
I was putting full size hd videos on my epic and it would scale them down and it looked perfect. i am looking to keep the resolutions as they are so if i plug the phone into the hdmi it will still look great. those settings are way compressed and of not a good quality.
I am still having problems with playback on my photon that i had no problem with on my Epic. Can someone please help !? Search option is worthless it keeps giving me results for the xoom.

You'll need to clarify your problem a bit more.
Movies that played on my epic will not play on my photon. when i rip movies on handbrake some will play and some won't. I am starting to regret getting the photon due to all the bugs with video playback ! I was wanting to know the settings i should use for handbrake but everyone short answers me and won't give the full rundown like bitrate container and if h264 is even compatible with this piece of crap phone !
The link posted above has all the information you're requesting. I'm not aware of the Photon scaling video on-the-fly and I doubt it'll work properly.
that is bare minimum i am looking for max quality

Just moved from s2 to evo 3d help / advice & movie conversion

Well I've been looking at the evo 3d for a while and I've just ordered one off Amazon UK to use on my three UK account.
It is due to arrive on Tuesday can't wait.
I have a couple of questions if you can help
The 3d cameras is it easy just to point and click or do you need to take it at a certain angle ?
If I want to use 3d films which I own which is the best way to convert for the ego ?
I use to have the sensation (I change my phones like my socks as I've not found the perfect phone yet but have high hopes about the 3d) the sensation had battery problems and awful lag has this been sorted with the 3d ? You tube videos show the evo being very smooth but is it ?
How good is the camera the s2 has a perfect camera but there are also loads of negatives
Lastly and this IM sure wont be clear cut will I regret moving from s2 to there evo 3d ?
Thanks in advance

3D is easy to use, must shoot landscape.
Handbrake works quite well for conversion, if you want to see a movie I did with handbrake, hit me up on IRC.
Most of the ROMs have been through several revisions, I would say lag and battery are not issues at this point.
Well no camera is perfect, there have been quite a few MODs done to the E3D camera by myself and several others. The front facing camera can do 2MP now.
And switching phones... Well if you don't like regular updates, Samsung is your best best...

I had Samesung S2 as well but had to return it to CPW as it has blue/yellow tint on the screen and red spot when taking pictures.
As for E3D's 3D camera you just point and shoot and prepare to be amazed. 2D is ok as long as you don't use the auto setting.
I use 4videosoft blueray ripper to convert 3d films. It is easy to use.
Never had a sensation so don#t know about its performance. On E3D everything is working as it should be- Fast and furious.
Be warned, there isn't a lot of preloaded 3D contents on UK's E3D. Only few pictures and that's it. No movie, no video clips, no games, no nothing. But there are tones of 3D stuff on youtube - just search yt3d. Or just go out and start shooting yourself. I still can't believe how good the 3D photos look on the phone( not too brilliant on big screen TV tho as it is only 2megapixel). 3D gaming is fun also.

I use my phone pretty heavy and get a full day out of it. I use ViperRom but don't have it overclocked.
In the accessories forum there's some links to some decent aftermarket batteries to buy for backup.

That's correct. But you still have to take the battery cover out, it is a bit silly really. I miss how it was designed on the Windows mobile 6 where sd card is easily accessible by place it on the side of the phone.

No Green Hornet I am afraid, at least not on my phone. Battery consumption is really heavy on this phone, especially when taking 3D pictures roughly 800 -900mA because it uses both cameras. I usually only get 4-5 hours of heavy ussage. I can't not understand when people say their phone lase whole day when taking 3d photos videos and play games all the time. It is just not possible.
I went out having lunch with friends yesterday. Playing music 50 minutes , videos 5 mins and taking 25 3d photos, let m8s play with the phone for like 15 minutes. 5 hours later I have 7% battery left. If I play 3d games constantly, the battery will not last longer than 3 hours, about the same I got with Desire HD. In standby 8-15% drop over 6-8 hours period. There is not a lot of custom roms for GSM 3D to play about atm. Hopefully it will catches on.
As for 2d photo setting, sharpness + 1 helps a lot in general, under low light up the exposure rather than iso, other setting you just have to play it a bit and see what suit your taste the best. My conclusion about photo is doesn't matter how good a 2D photo is, it is never going to be as realistic as a 3D one.
Excellent thanks mine is out with royal mail this morning can't wait ... Tee the battery thats not bad for all that use s2 would last half that !

[Q] quality over quantity HTC EVO 3D screen

heres the math, and ive looked though the threads and to no avail, lets say i have a 3d blueray rip 1080p mp4 sterieoscopic file that is 13gigs. looks great on a 60 inch HD-3d plasma screeen but i dont have one. i wanna scale it down to fit on a 4.3 inch 540x960 3vo screen. what is the way to go about this? best resolution (in 3d) in a itty bitty living space. ive watched movies in 2d that were mp4 and only 400mb and were stunning. and ive watched avatar in 3d that was almost 2 gigs and it blew me away. but does it really need to be that big to get the most bang for my buck.
Second Question, The largest micro sd card the phone can handle, and where can i pay the least for it. thanks
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
Look at this thread for recommended video converters, the OP states the best options to use and they work pretty good http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1140313.
As for the sd card im not too sure but I'd take a quick search in the accessories thread there will probably be a lot in there
converter
freemake has done a good job for me with the right settings
I've got the hang of using handbrake. To my understanding mp4's are best because of the way they compress the data, I have found a lot useful threads that got to the conclusion no one agrees there is no right answer , and it is just a matter of preference. My question was more technically speaking for the point of saving space without sacrificing resolution.
I've converted part of my copy of a certain 3D Blu-Ray from the 10GB MKV that I use on my 3D monitor to an 84MB MP4 sample using handbrake. I suggest converting a shorter sample to test your handbrake settings before going the distance on the whole file, and testing how it runs on your EVO 3D before as well. My sample was missing audio on the EVO but not the PC. PM me for more info.

Watching movies

Is watching HDrip 1080p/720p worth it on galaxy note? Or is it overkill for the size of the screen. What do you guys use?

works for me
Yip works for me > better than watching the same on TINY 2-3inch screen with that R* display worth $'0000's....
Not really sure if you want to watch MOVIES - live eg from netflix streamin etc
So I also tried that ( have netflix Prem) and was ok speed via 4G ( since my house location dont have 4gLTE towers yet) I tried Streaming via WiFi - worked nicely and no lag - Screen is super nice when compared to my Wifes 'Snapple phone'....
And my note is ROOT & UNLOCKED to boot! There are lots of freebee's and or you can convert most by using 'convertor apps' I have all my Music Vid (not many mp3/4) nearly full of 32GB Card.
Works for me !!
I am not sure if 1080p movies will make a difference, but 720p sure looks good to me.
Just viewing the HD content on youtube is pretty good quality for a handheld device like the Note. Yea... the other phones... well... are just too small for me now that I have the note.
I put 720P Bluray rips on my phone. They look fantastic! I use MakeMKV to rip and then Handbrake to compress and get to H.264. I have a hard time seeing the difference between 1080P and 720P at home (sit about 11 feet from a 7ft diagonal screen) so I think 1080P would be overkill for the Note. Most of my Bluray rips are 1.5GB to 3.5GB after Handbrake so they don't take up too much room if you are running a 32GB or 64GB uSD card.

Thanks for clearing that up. I just put dvdrips on mine but maybe I should put some hd contents and try it out. I figured even though dvdrips' have smaller resolution compared to the note I thought since the size (5.3" is big for phone but let's be honest it's still relatively small screen) that I could "get away" with it. I personally had no problem watching dvdrips on my phone. However if that same file was to watch on my macbook air 13" (1440*900) it just looks so ugly. Anyways thanks, I'll try some 720p rips.
Dude you have no idea how many blurayrips 720/1080 I've watched on this bad boy. Last blurayrip I watched was MI: Ghost protocol and let me tell you I was able to see every wrinkle on Tom Cruises face. (Damn we are old getting old loll)

That's good and bad news.. Good that I can get better video quality out and bad that I just lost more than half of my storage to store movies..
Oh by the way, if you guys get a chance, google Seagate GoFlex Satellite. It definitely goes well with this phone. Now I have 16gb internal + 32gb external + 500gb wifi storage. It is freaking awesome to stream (my own) movies directly to the GNote (+ 8 other devices simultaneously of different contents). Since it transmits its own wifi network you can use it anywhere. It does run on 7hr battery but that does mean it is portable. And the price is pretty high ($200) for its storage space (500gb), but it was way worth the price to have that much content directly on my phone when I want it...
Aw damn, now I have to get bluerays?
I watch The Taint on my phone all the time, and it looks great. I takes up 1g and some change on my 32g sdcard but I don't mind. The Note's screen is beast when it comes to portable HD video.
