Is there ANY way I can disable this? It's something set permanently on my network but I can't stand Samsung ROM's..
Doesn't anyone have an answer to this? I basically can't make phone calls at the moment..

Hey guys,
I'm running Sip Droid... but for some reason, unless I am using the headset, I cannot head the other person talk.
Anyone else having this problem?
What other agents seem to work well?
Any feedback would be great
I put a post up for this and it seems like no one replied. So I am wondering if anyone would be able to help me with this. I have it setup with sipbri it allows me to have my google voice account on sipbri and it lets me make calls but anytime I try to call all I get is my voice mail after it rings so many times. Am I doing something wrong or is it that the recieving calls part doesn't work right on Inferior Human Organs Cyanogen Mod 7.1?
Anybody? Well I actually got it working not sure what the issue was. I have a different rom it is CM7.1.0.1-VM670-BobZhome-111311 and it appears to be working fine. I just had to make a call on the internet call then after that I tried to call the number and I recieved it each time I called it. Seems like I have little to no delay either as people I talk to respond to me fine and can understand me fine.
If I root it, can I somehow find a way to make a phone call? Thanks.
You can send and receive phone calls with Groove IP. You don't have to have root, but you have to have a data connection (3g/wifi).
Or you can use talkatone...
I know there are apps like that. But is there a way to use a normal phone call without a data plan?
Is it hardware problem? Or just the tab didn't come with phone app?
groove IP and talkatone only needs wifi... im using both now on my tablet s... all you need is a google voice number and wifi connection... talkatone seems to have a better sound quality but both have about 1/2 second lag on voice...

It's not possible. There are all kinds of problems with this.
For one, there's no hardware. Phones need all kinds of things; special antennae, special modems, basebands, and radios. Although the 3G version of the Tablet would have some of these things, I doubt they are set up for telephony.
Biggest one, however, is the complete lack of software support. Honeycomb (and ICS in tablet-mode), do not feature any of the phone support included in handset releases of Android. There's no phone.apk or any of the other system files required to make phone calls.
So barring any kind of radical upgrade from Sony, or a complete fluke with hardware and better custom ROM support, Voice over IP is your only real option.
OK that's clear now. I read the specification at http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_tablet_s_3g-4138.php it told you that this tablet has no GPRS and EDGE.
Is it means that you can't use internet connection if your place is out of 3G coverage?
thats not true...the 3g version has 2g too...so gprs and edge...i dont know why sony in not fixing the technical details...

I have a Galaxy Nexus (GT-I9250) and a Galaxy S4 Google Edition (GT-I9505G). Both unlocked and rooted.
With JB 4.2.2, the native SIP dialer has always worked very well and I could place and receive calls (using my own Asterisk PBX server) without problems.
With the new JB 4.3 OTAs now, whenever I place or receive a call, the incoming audio is perfect but the outgoing voice sounds terrible: choppy and noisy to a point where the people on the other side can hardly understand what I'm saying.
I flashed both units back to JB 4.2.2 and the problem went away, no matter the configuration or the apps installed.
Conversely, I can always replicate the problem with JB 4.3, clean setup, no additional apps or services.
Anybody else experiencing the same problem? Any idea what might be causing the problem? I cannot believe 4.3 has such a glaring bug, must be me doing something wrong.
Thank you in advance!
Bump
Having the same issue, also using a Galaxy S4 Google Edition (GT-I9505G) on rooted stock 4.3.
If anyone has any info. Thanks!
I opened a ticket with Google 3 weeks ago. Every time I check they keep telling me that they forwarded the issue to the development team but so far I have not heard back from them.
I'm almost certain this has nothing to do with the Samsung Galaxy S4 GPE, and everything to do with the new Android 4.3, since I can replicate the same issue on my old Galaxy Nexus. With 4.2.2 both phones were working fine.
Anybody else experiencing the same issue?

The same problem is also happening with CSipSimple, so I'm guessing it's not something strictly related to the native Android Sip dialer.
And it has nothing to do with the Sip account either. I can replicate the same problem with my own Asterisk server, but also using a callcentric.com and pbxes.org
Is Android generating a system/debug log every time i place a call?
If so, does anybody know where it's saved?
