Since there's no-one else assigned to this section yet, I don't know who I'm greeting but welcome nonetheless.
I've tidied the section up a bit, there really wasn't much to do so hopefully it'll still be pretty tidy if/when someone else gets assigned here
Any questions, either PM me or post in this thread.
Iain.

Comical that a new user who finds this forum, hoping to get help with a development issue can't even post their question because they're new. The "admins" incorrectly think that this cuts down on spam and nonsense posts, but all it does is cause these new users to post enough garbage to get their post count up so that they can actually post what they want to post. So your plan has backfired.
Well that's one post...
Same boat as you. Just screwed up my nook 2E, and needed to post for a fix. Perhaps they should refine their policy - say, allow a dedicated forum/subsection just for this sort of thing?
Both of you have 10+ posts now. Was it that bad and difficult to get the posts?
I agree, i know what I'm doing, but still have to post in 10 threads to get the access i really want.

Anyone else think this could be a good idea? Thought I'd post this here so everyone that thinks it might be a good idea can chime in and make the request.
It's part of my general request to rebuild the section since TP is popular now and android becomes more and more popular :/

I've been following this thread from day 1 and you should read it too if you care at all about getting past the Nook Tablets "locked" bootloader:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1378886
If you have been wondering about whether custom ROMs for the NT, this is the thread that will answer the question. HOWEVER, I still see people posting "what's the status" and "thanks" and "don't post junk to this thread" on that very thread, cluttering up the dev's conversations.
As a result, I'm creating this thread so people can just say "thanks" to the likes of Indirect, AdamOutler, Loglud, pokey9000, 150pilot and all the other individuals hard at work in that thread (sorry if I missed your name!). DON'T PM them or clutter their thread - if you like what they are doing, click "thanks" on their posts, donate to their PayPal accounts or simply post a "thanks" here. That way we can let them know we appreciate what they are doing without getting in the way of progress. Most importantly, subscribe to the above thread - it's history in the making.
THANK YOU guys - it's been fun watching you work and I, for one, will be watching the thread to see what comes next.
Have the mod move it to development. It's obviously not meant for general consumption.
Thanks Devs!

It was originally in Dev until it was cluttered up by random posts. (Edit: actually, I was thinking of another thread that was moved for that reason. However, this one did start out in Development but was moved in part because it was asking about techniques to bypass the bootloader rather than actual "development".) But, yes, it appears to be far more dev-related now than when it started out.
I follow the threads in the development section as well - doesn't seem to stop people from asking things like "can you get me CM9 by Valentine's Day?"
I, for one, enjoy the anticipation as much as the end result. It's fun to watch the gears spin.
Random fact - did anyone else know Indirect was 16 before some of his recent posts? Quite impressed with his skills as well as his maturity on the forums. Makes me feel old and busted at 37...

I think ytt3r is around the same age might be older. I'm super excited that Adam joined in on the fun and following the thread is pretty entertaining.
Hopefully when Christmas is over I will be able to give a proper thank you via paypal, until then....
THANK YOU!!!!!
Thread cleaning in progress
Hi there everyone.i have already compile all recovery combo keys for all android from the first phone which is the g1 till the latest.i have posted all to my blog.i was wondering if i can link the blog from here.and whether will it contribute to the community..thanks for viewing and hope to hear your opinions
hope to hear opinion
hope to hear forumers opinion..thanks
Hi!
I'm not really experienced in here, neither did I found the rule which made it impossible to post link to your blog here, but I have a feeling that it tastes a bit like advertising your blog. In my opinion you could paste it IN the topic and add extra link to your blog at the bottom (like a source of info), if combo-page like this doesn't exist already.
But the truth is you can always ask moderator or somebody more experienced than me about this one
Hope I helped!
thanks for the comment
thanks for the comments.yup guess ill ask moderator whether is it possible.as im trying to provide to the comunnity.
anymore opinions will be much appreciated
thanks for opinions
Thanks again gomati..with your advice i already pm mods and replied.

I am a new member and every time i post something or respond to something, i have to go thru the captcha... typing is a bit of a challenge for me so getting those right is very challenging... I joined so that I could respond to someone in the developers thread, but i can't do that until i have 10 posts and then i find out that i can only post every 5 minutes since I am new. I also cannot send a PM which is what i tried to do as well.... will there always be captchas when i am posting or will they go away after 10 posts?
this is mostly just filling time so i can post again and get up to 10!
thanks...

The captchas are only temporary, they will go away along with other restrictions A friendly tip though, don't post just to fill up the 10 posts because I have seen some people get their post count reset. It's super easy to legitimately get 10 posts.
Browse the Q&A forums and help out with what you can, recommend accessories in said forum. Also check out the main Android forums and if all else fails there is always then off topic forums and we even have an off topic thread in general.
Welcome and I hope to see you around

I like how he blatantly disregarded the fact that you're not supposed to spam post to get to 10...

Good job.
I don't understand why once I am confirmed as member, I can't post anywhere... all of my thanks posts were genuine, those were things that i didn't know before and found helpful. I was legitimately trying to help someone in a developer forum because I had had the same issue when rooting, and it wouldn't let me send him a pm either until after those 10 so i was trying to be helpful here. how much longer does it take to be able to post in the development forums?

It's mostly to minimize spam. It seems to work pretty well, so I'd say it's a small price to pay to have a better community.
yea i feel where your comin from but it really helps cut down on the spam allso helps keep some people away you dont no how many time a tread can be ruin by some person with drama and off topic debates lol
Xda needs to have some border patrol.. if your here for the right reasons you will be able to post anywhere b4 long
If you only knew the amount of spam we got on here by ppls accounts....lol
Not hard to fire off 10 posts if you look for the right section to post in....locking this one though since it doesn't pertain to the device here....
Welcome to XDA btw!!!!
