You can get a stock firmware from www.sammobile.com and flash through Odin. I'm pretty sure that includes the kernel too

What the hell is that ? Not even a google search shows results for that xD
Anyway , if you're 100% sure your phone is the international version ( which it should be 'cause it says I9100 - double check it! ) just flash a stock rom from intratech's thread and then root it via CF-Root method

More likely I9100G.
Thanks all for the reply, but if i flash a custom rom should i root first or root after flashing? And should my kernel be the same with the custom rom?

Is usual to follow the instructions and bother to read up and learn before attempting to flash .
Solution is to not root unless you know why and if you want a custom kernel read the instructions as regards rooting in the roms post .
Cynagon mod is not a rom i would flash from a position of ignorance .

Yeh, looks like a i9100G, if it is, dont flash anything designed for the i9100 as it will most likely brick it, again.

Yes yours is a G version, so dnt flash anything related to the i9100 series.
There are limited Custom ROMs and only method works for rooting this.
By the way i too have the G version
@manishdev thanks! but can u give me links to root and the limited custom firmware?
I'll thank you later!
did you succeed rooting your device ? I have exactly the same ( It's a i9100G model BTW) ?

Rooting --> Doomlords method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20296629#post20296629
Kernel Flash--> TRy the latest 2.0
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1369977
Use Odian to flash this if it fails try 1.2 first then 2.0 over it using Odian
Custom ROM--> Try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1374135
Point to remember :
1) No need to root if you directly flash the rooted and cwm kernel i linked in kernel flash using odian
2)Flash the Custom ROM using CWM very easy
I managed to root with DooMLoRD zergrush and flashed MyGKernel using Ktool.
I will just wait for new roms to come

How are you rooted? Did you root using CF-Root? If so, you should be able to flash XWKJ1 (which is also 2.3.5) stock kernel via Odin to get rid of the triangle, then use CWM Manager to flash back whatever insecure kernel you wish, and the triangle will still be gone.
go to samfirmware.com and search your kernel version of I9100TDUKJ1. Should be there.
Rooted with CF-Root-SGS2_XW_LUX_KJ1-v4.4-CWM4
I will give it a try. If no luck I can try the samfirmware option.
The fun of learning!
You can using usb jig too if you have that
if u thank me then i will thank you ( 이 승 기 )

True, this will work too - unless he has the new bootloaders. In which case he'd have to flash the old bootloaders first for the jig to work.

Download KJ1 firmware with Checkfus (PC version, search for it on here/Google), extract the kernel zImage from the tarball you download. Done (Yes I've tried this & it works).

[Q] How do I get rid of the "root" in the kernel version?

Hi
After I rooted my phone with a CF-Root kernel and flashed a custom ROM I wanted do get it back to the factory firmware and kernel. So i flashed the stock firmware with odin and the stock kernel as well but my kernel version still has the "root" in it.
How can I get rid of that?
my kernel version:
2.6.35.7-I9100XWKI4-CL575468
[email protected] #2
firmware: XWKI4 (stock)
the root and CWM recovery as well but there's still the "root" in my kernel version??
thank you in advance
The root in you're kernel version doesn't mean its rooted, flashing stock will only remove root and CWM recovery.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
The root in the kernel version means the person who compiled the kernel had root @ whatever the name of the machine the kernel was compiled on. It does not mean your phone is rooted.
ok thanks
so when you buy a SGS2 is the root in the kernel version there?
Depends on the kernel you have on your device. Mine was Dell something. It could be [email protected] or it was [email protected] It doesn't mater because if you flashed a stock rom you're on stock kernel and that's it.
lol, made me smile

You don't flash zip files using Odin, Odin usually flashes .tar or similar files. Second, are you rooted? To flash a custom Rom you need to be rooted. Check out this guide for information on rooting the Galaxy S3, also check out this guide, and this guide, that should hopefully answer any other questions you may have. Hope this helps

:good: Let me know if you need any guidance or have any other questions along the way.
The Rom will be installed through CWM or TWRP Recovery and not ODIN... Just look into the zip archive and if there is a .tar file install via Odin and if there are .img files install via recovery! For ODIN you don't need to be rooted

If you need a rooted stock kernel, then you can use PhilZ-CWM6 kernel => http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1877270
In post #2 you can find XWLPW-DBT ICS 4.0.4 which should work fine for your current firmware.
If you flash the zip file in stock recovery, then you will be rooted.
Good luck !
