Dear friends,
I'm looking for a video editor that does the following:
1. Allows me to add background music to videos.
2. Allows me to add captions to frames in my video. For example, I take a video of my friends and add a caption like - Nadia bullying Zainab again - to a certain frame in the video.
3. Allows me to cut/ trim/ join videos.
Which would be the video editor/ editors for Android that can do all of the above? Thanks in advance for your intelligent inputs.

I don't think there's any application that can do it all.
There are several good ones but I think this one, currently, is the closest you can get.

Thank you very much for your valuable suggestion, Daelyn, but that app has horrible reviews.
Looking forward to get more suggestions for a video editor app that at least allows me to add background music to my videos. Thanks in advance!

I ain't sure if adding background music is possible or not. However, there are plenty of good options available which can perform rest of the functions
Chec out AndroMedia video editor on google play https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.techcatmobile.andromedia
There are few more video editing apps listed over here. Give them a go: http://geniusgeeks.com/must-have-android-video-editing-apps/

Is there an app for Android that let's you customize and/or edit video like with effects and what not?
No, but there is Video Editor Light. With it you can add tittles, trim the video, and remove the sound track. To get to it go to gallery>the video you want to edit (dont play it just select it)>edit>video and it will then bring you to the video editor. So yea, it's nothing special but it's ok for making a simple video.

Cool thanks...I'll check that out

Looking for a slideshow app to use on my CM7/22. The stock gallery slideshow gets to the end and stops, looking for it to loop. Searching the market now, but would appreciate suggestions.
My absolute favorite app to view images and slideshows would be QuickPic, it's updated regularly and has many features. For example he recently added Nook support for better thumbnails, before that the thumbs would look kinda pixelated.
For a no-frills simple slideshow app that uses local images and just works, I really like this one: Slideshow Bob
It lets you select individual directories on the fly, as well as the ability to process subdirectories, and it does support looping of images as well.

QuickPic is great! It's fast and works for setting wallpaper too! No more wallpaper set & save for me!
As a photographer and an Android geek with a Nook, I used QuickPic and the Gallery.
The Gallery that is with Android and CM7 was made by Cool Iris, they have a fantastic algorithm for resizing images that are not to the Nooks scale. I use cool iris code on my web site too. The Gallery is also the fastest of all the ones I have tried, others just take way too long to paginate and resize pixel definition. But the Gallery does not have a looping slide show. Personally when I am showing pictures I like to flip and wait for the viewer to see and take it in, so I do not use the slide sow on its own. If I did need a looping slideshow I would use QuickPic, once even lager pictures are in memory, it’s all good.
Hop this helps!
JustPictures. has the slideshow, loops when it gets to the end, supports external image sources like Flickr and Picasa and others, and is written by a very involved developer who takes customer suggestions.
Try Slideshow HD
Today i had found something that intresting,
through google-ing over the night,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=749678
i found a apps that capable to tap-to-focus on video recording.
What i like the apps:
tap-to-focus while video recording
polished UI
24fps
immediate video record when you tap 'start recording'
What i does'nt like the apps:
not smooth at all even it is 24fps,i don't know why,but it appear as 24fps in the video info
no HVGA resolution recording anymore,even with my previous mod
lousy sound recording
count not play on the computer,need to convert to other format to view in computer.eg:from 'mov' to 'mp4' or 'avi'
killing my previous mod and threadmad
If any guys are expert in apps edit/modify,i hope he/she could made this in
cyanogenmod's camera apps to enable HVGA recording.
Hope you guys love it too.
This is a battle between highier resolution and focus video recording.
I'm sure sense user will definetly like it
For those who wan to download the apps:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you think i had shared a good application,
please press 'thanks' at the bottom of my thread,
and don't forget the developer of the application too!!
It would be wonderful.
Can we ask at Cyanogen team to add your mod in the build?
Bye!
! !
the app(videocam illusion) are not create by me,
i'm just sharing it
I realised the app only capture video at 1fps when high light intensity,
But the tap-focus really cool,i hope someone can merge it on the cyanogen's camera
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I dont think cyanoagen team will not to use my mod(HVGA recording) because that is not stable enought
Yes yes, I understood it.
Is This mod instable?
When?
We can ask however...
Bye!

Awesome Pop-up Video is a video player unlike others. It plays the video in pop-up window, floating above other applications, just like on your computer. Some even call it "Picture-in-Picture mode".
Multi-task! Why stop watching your TV show if someone sends you message, or get new email?
Why Awesome Pop-up Video is special?
When you watch video in applications like Facebook, Twitter, Vimeo, Google Chrome or standard Browser, Vine etc. you will get notification to pop-out the currently being played video or directly download the video on your device.
Combine this with "Heads Up Notifications" Xposed module or other with this feature and you will be able to pop-out videos in one tap.
*Note: This will not work for applications that have implemented custom video player like VLC, MX Player etc.
Extra modules to enable video detecting in applications with custom video player:
YouTube Module - not working with the latest YouTube version
Twitch Module
Facebook Module
Open videos in pop-up from your device or open videos from the Internet without downloading.
Also you can enter video url in the application from your favorite video site like TED, Vimeo, IMDB… and "Awesome Pop-up Video" will try to show the video in pop-up.
Download it from Google Play, it is half the size because it has binaries just for your CPU architecture, not like the attached apk in Xposed repo, which has both armv7 and x86 architectures.
Features:
• Log in with YouTube, easily access your personal playlists, more networks to come
• Playlist support + special eye candy if you have Android Lollipop
• Awesome Search - search for videos from YouTube, Vimeo or enter link to pop-out the video
• "First row" tab. One stop hub to get the trending videos around you. Saves you a click
• Chromecast™ support, currently available for external videos. Happy chromecasting.
• THEMES, customize the player colors to match your phone theme. It's Android, right?
• Hide videos, except YouTube™ videos :
• Snap to edges. When the player is near screen edge, it snaps right to it. No more trying to align the player with the edges.
• Multi Window™ ready = Maximum multitasking (only for devices that support Multi Window™)
The application has in app purchase which removes these limitations:
Download videos is limited to premium users*.
*Downloading YouTube videos is not supported.
I have spent many many hours to develop this mod, purchasing supports the further development of this application. Thank you.
Must have for tablets, so much white space on the websites, apps,... why not to use it?
Thanks to rovo89 for the awesome Xposed Framework.
Thanks to VLC media player for making video playback made possible. It plays any video format you throw at him.
In Downloads tab you will find special XDA version of the application.
If you like my application, please consider buying the Pro version, it keeps further development of this application. Thank you.

Nice Module, i really like it. Well implemented and easy to use.
I have 2 additional Questions though.
1. YouTube seems to be limited to 1080p Playback, why don't go higher? I realize the differnce is not really visible in the little Pop Up Windows, but if it's possible why not!?
2. Any way to get back to the Fullscreen Video (App), e.g. back in YouTube with some sort of a Button!?
I've noticed when I played your demo video from imdb it didn't continue playing with the screen off even though I have that selected. Sorry no debug available.
Also I can't seem to change the download location.
Purchased.

Just bought the golden ticket! This is freaking amazing dude. Mad props! Wow!
Really good app just a few suggestions
1. To hide video completly and enable only sound. For example if i wana hear a music clip but i dont want to see the video, there could be a button to switch to sound only.
2. Youtube app to work with screen off that would be amazing.
3. A button to return to the youtube app video
Thanks and keep up the good work
A very good module...

Thanks for your support.
Does background playing stops for all videos or just first one?
Changing download location is not yet available, but it will be in future.
Great Module!
It works perfectly with youtube, but which chrome i got problems. When i watch a video (for example on streamcloud) then awesome pop-up force closes.

And upon further testing there seems to be no problem works flawless. Also I'm able to get background playback with YouTube while the screens off with the xda module -YouTube background playback- think you could get the source code from github and implement it into this module.
Thanks Again

YouTube background playback is intentionally disabled due to violation of YouTube terms: https://developers.google.com/youtube/terms and it will cause my application to be removed from the Play Store.

Eventually this app may be pulled off regardless on the Play Store. Look at what happened to TubeMate. And with the new YouTube music subscription coming out they'll be even more strict. I'm glad you made this for xposed however.

I love the app, How simple it is to pop up a video.
But I am having serious rendering issues. So far everything from youtube app to browser videos are skipping 2-6 seconds in frames or just stops like it's buffering then plays for 30 seconds max then stops again.
I have a Samsung galaxy s4 Active 4.4.2 stock
Plan on getting the gold ticket, but to much stop and playing going on
You should buy the golden ticket and then upgrade your Internet service. No issues here at all
Ok so, there's definitely a playback issue. Doesn't seem to happen all the time. Least for me
And crashes in snapchat. Maybe you should have a default preset apps instead of having them all selected. Idk just a thought. Might very some other apps that will crash it.
Also on dolphin browser, if flash player is enabled, Doesn't let me pop out the video, there's no notification for it.
