Have you seen the desk clock in ICS on the Xperia? Its really nice. Unfortunately there is no way to launch it directly. You have to load the clock app then press the icon bottom left.
Until now

Perhaps the simplest app I have ever written, but useful non the less. It simply launches the desk clock. Wire this up to LiveWare or a SmartTag and you have a nice solution.
Will definitely work with the Xperia S on ICS, may work with the P and U, but not able to test this.
Just to reiterate, I wrote the launcher, SONY wrote the clock.
Enjoy
Phil
Just updated this to work in Gingerbread for all the UK people waiting for Sony to pull their finger out and push ICS.
I have also had confirmation this works on the Arc S and the Xperia U.
I have also had a few 1 star reviews from people who can't read, stupid S3 owners...
Actually there is a manual way to launch the clock.
On desktop→Add→Shorcut→Clock

I didn't know that. It still doesn't achieve what this app was intended for though, launching the clock via automation, specifically LiveWare on charger insertion or Xperia SmartTag via an NFC tag. I am also launching it from Beautiful Widgets.
Cheers for the info though, I will have a hunt around that menu option to see if there are any other hidden gems.

Edit:
Poking around I found a shortcut to the Timer app. Nice! I really missed that from the GingerBread ROM.

DOWNLOAD
downloading right now....will be back with feedbacks...btw,where did u find it???looks cool....thanks
I have been using that for a long time, but it has some way to go still:
Pros:
- Looks good
- Able to update the location properly. When travelling, it actually updates the location accurately.
- Has a lot of skins and fonts to go with a lot of themes you might be using
- Free App
Cons:
- Memory use is very high. ~25MB. It was fixed in one of the versions (~8MB), but it is again back to 25.
- Day and night calculation is bugged. It will show the Sun icon during the night and vice-versa. The dev claimed to have fixed it, but, its not, for me.
- Local time showed in the weather forecast screen is off by half an hour. (Probably because I am in a GMT +x.30 Zone)
- Skins are just colour variations of the clock. I would have expected some 'proper' skins, and, the ability to change the colour via a picker.
Sorry (I need this word very often, but i mean it seriously)
Is there a widget like this (or even better), with 3D Flip clock and weather, which i can place on the desktop (i don't have the right word for the android screen), and when i tip with my finger on it, it shows the normal clock (Clock, Alarms..) options.
Thanks for your answers.
looks awesome will download
White...Snow...Minimal...Minimum...Clock
Crappy intro, what can I say...new clock app, not my design, just found it on the Web and thought it would be cool if I could get it on my phone.
This clock is special (the real version), the hands are in fact batteries and the whole thing moves.

Any launcher you want, just apply the motorola dock image.
I would like for the fullscreen desk clock with the digital clock and weather to be on my home screen vs the flip clock anyone know how I could get it?
Thanks in advance,

Check out "animated weather widget "
In the market.
Other options are diferent Rom, or maybe a launcher like the one I use sometimes called "go launcher ex".
Total custumization of your dt, also can change the locker.
Do some research , there's tons of clock widgets.

here's the screen I was trying to get, seems to be a custom HTC thing but can't really use it for some reason.

it does work in dock mode, however I would like to use it as a widget on my home screen of my phone, It's probably not something you can do I did go with an app from the market though that gives me what I was basically looking for without those 2 extra features near the bottom it was called AK digital clock widget.
however I still think it would be awesome to get that as a place-able widget on the home screen.
There's been old concept pictures about the samsung galaxy s3 all over the Internet.

Just wondering if that clock widget exists and where to find it.
No. This has been asked heaps of times on here this year. It's just a mock up/Photoshop job. If it did exist, XDA would be crawling with posts about it & links where you could get it.
Bummer hope someone look into making it. I'll have to look into it. Guess I'll have to read up since I'm not that skilled. Someone skilled could probably do it. Oh well. Thanks for the answer. If anyone stumble across this widget then let me know.
No probs Yeah, if you were into art/graphic design & a bit of coding I'm sure someone could make it.
Hope someone gets inspired to do it. I could manage the graphic design but need knowledge for the coding. Maybe I should find a clock widget and strip it down and then I'll get an idea of how to do it. We'll see if won't promise anything as I've not exactly developed since the windows mobile era.
Now it´s possible..
Hi,
After some heavy searching I found a solution.
Install Ultimate Clock widget and then use the skin by Dom1n8tr1x found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...php?p=25456161
Thanks to these guys you can now enjoy the widget! Works fine on my Galaxy s2, just had to move the temperature a bit.
Attached printscreen of widget in action...
I am positively shocked this is not a larger issue. With the removal of the always listening options for Google Now this devices overall appeal has been greatly limited based kmy needs.
Does anyone in the community know why these features were removed or have any idea on if/when they will return?
with the newest version it's there if you put the widget on homescreen

I have everything up to date including google play services and have placed the widget on the home screen but am still only seeing 1 option. Which is to allow "OK Google" from the app.

That's not the same thing at all. For starters it takes a whole row of icons. Also it will only work when you are on that specific screen. It won't work if you have an app open and most importantly it doesn't work when the screen is off.
This certainly isn't a hardware limitation, but I think Samsung did this to get users to try the new (and greatly improved s voice). I bet their plan is to bring back Google always on detection in a later update after many people try out s voice.
Anyways in the meantime check out s voice, you might be pleasantly surprised.
I know..but all Samsung phones even nexus had have problems with that actual
