Hello everyone
I have a little problem , im in love with this rom from the beginning , i have never had a problem.
But now with the 1.5A i have only a little question.
In the last release i was able to resize the enviorment density ( like dock icon , icons in application menu , and the standard icons bar , like telephone , sms etc.)
But now i have some problem to figure how to resize it, the menu's are really pretty with low dpi , but the others things are really huge!.
Any suggestion?

Hello.
Go to parameters, paranoid settings, (list of apps).
I think you know how. Then you have to "juggle" (sorry I'm missing an english word here) between User default density, system default density , system UI DPI, and framework DPI. Its kind of a balance... I personnaly ended up customizing manually the specific app I wanted to customize. It's faster than guessing whenn you don't know "in which category" belongs the screen you want to customize.
Version 1.6 was just released. And beside a bug on one of the screen (doesn't take changes into account), its density screens are juste perfectly set. only a couple of apps to personnalize to make it your own.
regards.
Take version 1.6a. Most (if not all) density issues are solved in it.

Hey guys...
I use this LCD Resolution app, and it is awesome, but I have one problem, I cant find balance between two things...
If I set it to 160 everything looks nice but in some apps my status bar is messed up...
And if I put any other option I get everything look OK but colors in PlayerPro for example look a little bit mixed up :S
thank you
That's because you're running at DPI's lower than what the phone is built for.
Market will not work properly and you would not be able to update all apps if you go under 240.
If you want one of the best DPI's, set it to 183, I prefer it as everything is just working as it is, although some apps are formatted incorrectly.
I will give it a try
market will not allow me to install some applications.
Unfortunately the search option seems to be missing and Google isnt being too helpful.
I'm curious if first its possible to change the DPI on the i9300 and if so if there are any recommended settings.
Main reason I want to do this is I find everything is too small. I know this is due to the HD screen but playing angry birds and other stuff is hard on the eyes.
I figure changing the DPI will make it bigger and easier on the eyes
This is the first thread I read where someone wants to increase the dpi. Usually people want to lower it. Lol
If you are rooted try the app LCD density from the market. It allows you to play with the dpi and if you don't have it checked to stay after a reboot it will go back to stock dpi after a reboot. This is good for if you are trying different dpis.

Thanks the app works but multiple apps start crashing when I up any amount. I started at 400 (fro default 320) and went down to 330 and same thing
You could try the Paranoidandroid Rom in the development section. It's fabulous in it's versatility, specially on this device because of it's size. It allows you to independently set the dpi and ui framework for the entire device including a per app list. So for example you could have all system apps set to display in tablet mode and all user downloaded apps set to their default phone ui & dpi or any combination in between.
You can also set framework and system DPI (statusbar, toast messages, etc.) the DPI on the stock rom is way to big in my opinion and I have old eyes. Most of the native Google Apps have a tablet display and the render dual pane and great on the S3.
Give it a try, I've messed around with the 3rd party apps and it's a pain compared to using Paranoid. Zero dpi related issues and makes the phone more functional in my opinion with the option of utilizing more screen real estate with tablet UI and DPI tweaking to your liking.
Build prop in System
this file
ro.sf.lcd_density=320
Change the last figure .

Hello,
First of all thx for all the work and people here, learn a lot of thing.
Lastly I am trying a lot of custom roms (have been on cyanogen official for a long time) and I've been pretty much amazed by the dpi setting on the Paranoid android rom.
The thing is I really like the CM, and i'm working on a battery drain saving so I went on the temasek unoffical rom, because he propose some little things I miss on the official build.
Today I found on the user interface in the display tab that we can change DPI, wich is great. Not even sure we can on stock CM.
The only problem I have is that the app drawer (the desktop if you prefer) get shrunk, it doesn't fit the screen like it was on Paranoid. I guess it because of trebuchet it self.
//// Here is a screenshot. you can see some pretty heavy space top and bottom (its on 268 dpi, it gets even worse on 240, with space on left and riht) : //// (I cant post screens, as this is my first post. So I hope the description of the problem will enough clear :S)
Questions :
1. Is it linked to trebuchet like I think ? (PA is on Nova if I remeber correctly)
2. If yes, does taking another launcher on top of trebuchet loads up the battery and system charge ?
3. If no, how to bypass this problem ?
Sorry if thoses questions have already been asked, have looked for like an hour here and google..
Thx !

1- i cant see you're screenshot.!!
2- Mate cm supports on 320 DPI as far as i know.... You have got to use 3rd party launchers like Nova or apex if you wish to use a custom dpi..1!

Actually only the launcher seems to suffer this problem, but think you're talking about that.
I got Apex (free) this morning, and its works on the go on the 268 dpi setting, so guess its just Trebuchet that is not able to fit the screen on lower DPI, like you said, only maid for 320.
And for the moment Apex is quite appeling. But I'm still wondering how much it impact the power consumption, any idea ?
it doesn't
Thank you for all jour answers, on nova now and having good results on battery drain. Problem solved

Hi @ThemerSupport
The new app drawer is much nicer and I see that you have now made the home screen widgets stay in place when entering the app drawer instead of them all moving to the Center.
One Chang I would like to see and that the ability to Chang the color of the tabs bar in the app drawer.
Thanks
All the best

I can't use Themer yet because I use custom DPI on my SGS3, When I use stock DPI everything is normal, but when I change it everything is a mess, and yes I know that I can work my way around, making the widgets and texts bigger and moving them around, but it would be wonderful if there was a scaling future depending on the resolution and the DPI.

Good suggestion! Now that we have a new app drawer, continuous improvements will be made on the drawer

The problem lies in when Themer is installed on your phone, it looks at the device name and sets the theme sizes accordingly. Now when custom DPI settings are added, it gets confused. That doesn't it custom DPI support won't be implemented, it'll just take some time

Thanks for the response!
Wouldn't be better if instead of the device name, the app was looking for the DPI? That way it wouldn't matter what the device is, the would work anyway.
Basically all I want to do is change the amount / size of my app icons throughout my galaxy ,WITHOUT being forced to install a launcher . I don't mind the stock Samsung features and I'm so use to them that ANY launcher I've tried is just way to much change for my comfort and it honestly slows me down in basically every aspect of my day to day ****. I don't understand why it's not already an app in playstores already . It's simple for me to just need more apps to fit on my screen grid right? Like why can't I use some kind of "tiny icons, icon pack" or download some cool tool one of you tech wiz guys make that allows me to regrid my app drawer and pages? What am I doing wrong here guys? Also please be kind and patient I'm absolutely dog **** with technology . However this has been an ongoing issue for me for a solid 6 months and after HUNDREDS and I mean HUNDREDS of different apks, and mods I've installed just to immediately uninstall when that simple function isn't possible to complete , I'm not sure where else to go for help before every android device in my hose ends up throwing themselves into the work microwave . SOS PLZ SEND HELP ,
SMALLER ICONS + MORE ON APP DRAWER & SCREEN GRID - LAUNCHERS = ?
do you have root?
