No, I think its about my sd card not working.
Can you access files that are already on the SD card?
You can try to reformat the SD card and see if that helps. If not try another SD card and see if that works.
Do you think that it is a problem with your software or the hardware?
What kind of SD card do you have?

How to fix "Couldn't Install on USB Storage or SD Card" Error
Hey Dude,
I too had this problem on my Galaxy Ace GT S5830. But I've fixed it now. There are 3 ways in which you could fix this (literally). (Before reading all this, check whether you have enough Internal memory i.e above 25 MB)
1) This method is a kind of a temporary solution. Unmount your SD Card in Storage Settings. Then Install your app. After installing it remount, remount you SD Card.
2) Format your SD Card. After that you won't be having any problem unless you install something that's not good for your phone. But then too, you may get this problem again. So, this method also is a kind of a temporary fix.
3) Now this is a permanent fix. Upgrade your phone with a Custom Rom. If you're having 2.2.1 or 2.3.6 android version currently, then this is just the solution. If its 2.2.1, then do it for sure. But if its 2.3.6 just try to follow the above steps. If its still not working, then upgrade it.
Best Roms : CM7, Jelly Blast, CM 9, PAC MAN.....
You'll get tutorials on how to install Cusom Roms on Youtube.
Prevention from these problems in Future
1) Don't ever install Black Markets like Aptoid, Black Market Alpha, Panda app.........etc
2) Try to stay away from Viruses.
Hope this helped you. Thanks :fingers-crossed:

Hey,
I'm unable to access the SD card via any form once im booted into the ROM.
I can view the SD card in CMW and read from it.
The SD card is accessible via a USB cable when unmounted.
I have flashed the phone with several different ROMs.
I have formatted the SD card
I have tried different SD card
All have the same result, unable access when in the ROM.
Has this happened to anyone else?
Any idea on how to troubleshoot further or ideally, anyone know a fix?
Hope you can help!
Cheers,
Will

Apologies, Currently I'm using CM7, however i have attempted to use Aura and Gingerblur with the same result.
i too am having the same issue. i am on whatever teh official .91 is. phone is unlocked/rooted. no special rom here yet. about to flash ninja .04.....
just curious if there is any fix out there that tells the phone to use it....
no one else experiencing this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated..
some more info, if I attempt to mount SD card in CM recovery I get the following error:
E: Unable to write to ums Iunfile (No such file or directory)
The external SD card in CM7 is at mnt/emmc not mnt/sd-ext.
Hey all,
I was just wondering whether there is a fix for such error running on the latest MIUI build from their website. Whenever I turn on my phone, I would receive this message saying Preparing SD card, then it would jump into SD Card Safe to Remove. The phone cannot mount the SD card manually from Settings as the same thing will happen again. I am sure the memory card is not corrupt as both the internal SD card (16gb) and my external SD card (32gb) are both recognized in CWM recovery, although when selecting install from internal SDcard from recovery, it goes into the external.
Hope someone knows how to resolve this issue!
Thanks,
Nicholas

If you got the rom from their site then your best bet would be to ask on their site. No MIUI development is done here. Only translations

mmmm alright thanks (Y)
But just for other people, they released a fixed version of the ROM on the MIUI main site, not the MIUI.us site, that fixed my problem

Hi guys, I've run into a problem. I'm on Resurrection Remix 3.0.2 (jelly bean) and before flashing the latest version of the rom I tried to do a nandroid back up. I had done this numerous times with no problems. Anyway, I tried to back up to external sd card. The back up crashed since there wasn't enough free space and the phone rebooted itself. Since that happened, I lost access to my sd card. I can't view my pic gallery and lost some apps. ES file explorer says there's no card, even though there is. I tried flashing the most recent rom version and tried rebooting of course. Nothing worked. Solutions?

Yep, I tried that too.
i have faced the same problem , the whole problem is that in AOKP the external SD is mounted to emmc instead of external_sd ,( i know that's a pain in the neck ) but there is 2 ways to overcome this :
1)search for an app on xda called remountSD
2)or just use directory bind here is the guide:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1536568

can't u just connect ur pc and copy this apk to your internal sd card using mass storage mode
or even go to the link from your mobile with a browser like chrome and download it directly to your internal sd download folder (/sdcard/download)
by the way external sd is found in (/emmc)to get there u need an app like root explorer
Hi
I have same problem in my Sony Xperia tipo. i have install this APK in on devices. it's called "REMOUNT" just search in play store. After install follow the step...
In option just select
/mnt/ext_card
then click on remount logo.
It's Done !
Every time I try to download anything the default location is the internal sd card. I try to switch it to choose the external sd card but it says "Can't find file or directory. Please make sure your SD card is ready, and USB Mass Storage is turned off."
I can not find the setting for the USB Mass Storage. But I'm able to see the sd card and see the folders and files I have on there with ES File Explorer.
Any help on this! Thanks!

Solved the problem but it requires root. See my tutorial.

In KitKat, write access to external SD card is blocked, you need to wait for a dev to MOD the system to allow for writing to external SD card.

Try using the My Files app that is built in. As it is not third party it should have full access to the SD card

Hey guys I'm having an issue with setting my sd card as my download directory, when I set it to external sd and try to download anything wether it be a picture or a document I get Message saying their is not enough space cannot finish download, now I thought it might be my sd card going bad so I went out and purchased a New one 64GB, old one was 32gb but I'm still getting the same message, I can set it to internal memory dl the file and then transfer it to my sd after just fine so I know now it's not an sd issue.
Anyone have a solution to this issue or advice on what I should try thanks

You could try the app SDFix by NextApp in the Play Store. It's free.
- Tapatalked from the G3 -
OP - Are you rooted?
KitKat has issues with access to microSD depending on what you are doing.
You will need to enable full access to SD.
Look in the root thread ot use Xposed with Tweakbox.

boat browser is not a privileged app. It will not write everywhere on the sdcard with default kitkat privileges. you can change them manually or since you are rooted use an app like sdfix or an xposed module to do the change for you.
more details here
http://www.droidviews.com/restore-write-capability-to-external-sd-card-on-kitkat-manually/
I have the same problem with the internal card. i can't download anything off of playstore anymore because it says insufficient memory. I am going to have to flash the stock b06 thing and start over. blows. Oh and there is like 12 gig available on the internal card and I dont see any other way around it. Maybe after refreshing I will be able to implement the newest root method and that will clear it up. Also I DON'T have a problem saving random objects to the samsung evo 64gb (omg you have to get one) because I did the kitkat fix and it worked fine.
