My xperia mini is still rootable after the ICS official update?
I make a dumb to press update in ICS and is possible to root my phone?
Device: Sony Ericsson
Model: ST15i
Unlocked Bootloader: Yes with the official way
Build Number (Firmware): 4.1.B.0.431
I searching for topic but i dont see any that can root my specific firmware... :crying:
Since your bootloader is already unlocked, install a custom, prerooted, kernel and you got the root.
It depends...
I don't know how having an unlocked bootloader affects your phone. Given that, you can't root SE's stock ICS. You have to upgrade to ICS from a rooted version of Android. For example, the latest version of SE's stock Android that you can root for ST15i is 4.0.2.A.0.42. Install .42, root it, then then carefully install SE's Android ICS upgrade but not wipe user data. If you're not careful, you just end up with an unrooted stock ICS again.
See thread.

Installing prerooted kernel on stock unrooted ROM gives you automatically root access.

After I updated from rooted 2.3.4 to ics 4.0.4 root was lost. Is there any method to root without unlocking bootloader

There is no way to root any device with stock ICS 4.0.4 / 4.1.B.0.431 with locked bootloader. You have to downgrade it first, and the upgrade with THIS method.
Thanks. Im rooting now

Yes cause you can't root ics for mini pro. You have to downgrade and then root downgraded firmware, use local-prop and then upgrade to ics without wiping data, then run push-root-files and you should have rooted ics!
I'm having troubles to root my Sony Xperia U ST25a.
I just unlocked the Bootloader *yay! finaly* as I read that it is needed to root using this video: /watch?v=x65ua5x4sMc
But when the Root part comes I'm afraid to use that files because my Phone Software Version is: 6.1.1.B.1.54 and I didn't found any kernel.elf files for this version.
Can someone help me with it not using ST25i way, or a problematic way (yes, I'm noob on it) to root my phone?
I really need to use LEDs-U-CTRL
Thank you all.
NOTE: I already used Xperia P kernels but my phone died and I dont know how I made him alive again.

Use flashtool to flash a stock ICS Firmware.
Root your phone:
1.Method Search rootable stock ICS firmware and kernel. Flash the fw, root the phone with Many Android by Bin4ry. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=31545627
Than flash the kernel.
2.Method Flash a prerooted Kernel, like Munjenis's CWM kernel. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1934093&highlight=kernel
3.Method Look in the Development Index here
NOTE: I already used Xperia P kernels but my phone died and I dont know how I made him alive again.
