hello i need a little help here please.
in settings under sound, under ringtone and notifications you have 'device vibration' and there are 6 different types of vibration available. i have been looking in the rom zip file to try and find these vibration types so i can edit/delete them. i havent been able to find them. does anyone know where abouts they are located in the rom zip file?

I'm a newbie and need help. I have a rooted atrix running Gingerblur 3.5. I have used an app to create a custom ogg file to use as a notification. I then copied the file to system/media/audio/notifications. After rebooting the phone the file shows up in the list of notification choices and lets me select it. However the file is not being used by the system. The file directly beneath it is used even though the custom one is selected. What have I done wrong or failed to do?
Thanks.
handcentSMS has a ringtone picker that works great with other apps.
Edit:
After looking in root explorer.. Put your ogg in
/sdcard/media/audio/notifications
Not
/system/...

Thanks, but that was not the problem. Like I stated I am new at this, but I did figure out the problem. The permissions on the file were set to not allow the owner to do anything. After changing the owner permissions it is working now. I had to do this in the /system/media/audio/notifications because the sd card location did not allow permission changes.
Thanks again for your interest & reply though.

That is where I keep them and it works great for me, I never have the prob where the default changes. but! You have to put them in their correct folders..
/notifications
/ringtones
/alarms
So, I'm on KG6. If you go to:
Settings----->Sound----->Volume----->Media
and decrease or increase the media bar, then you will hear it. I can't find it... Anyone can find the file in their phones? Please, I want to set it as my default ringtone. But I can't find it. ;-;

System /media / audio ///copy the file to PC and listen to sounds inside .
jje
I get remote object blah blah does no exist. Tried via adb.
adb pull System\media\audio C:\asdf
Can't you just copy the files for me and make a .rar/.zip file? I'd really appreciate it. @[email protected]
If it is the same one as the KF3, then it is the Ringtone 'Over the Horizon'
I used Root Explorer and it is in \System\media\audio\ringtones\S_Over_the_Horizon.ogg
Yeah, it sounds like over the Horizon, but it's kinda different. Clearly, you can hear it's different..
Hi eveyone.
I've recently had a problem with the custom imported ringtones in my RAZR. I copied a .mp3 file in my sdcard and then the phone automatically indexed it in the ringtones database. (settings/sounds/phone ringtones). The ringtone was successfully changed then.
The problem is, while rebooting the phone, the selection was somehow undone; i.e. another ringtone was being played during an incoming call. A ringtone which was not even indexed in the list of ringtones!
I used root explorer to move my custom ringtone to the phone's original ringtone folder (system/media/audio/ringtones) and then rebooted my device and it works fine at the moment. But the question is, why the first approach was failed after reboots?
Does anybody else have the same problem?
I make the same as you, weeks ago,
and want to kwnow why
I found a simple answer :
The you reboot the phone, or plug it to the computer,
the SD card (internal and external) desapears, ah the boot he take a moment to initialise
The razr check FIRST time if a custom ringtone are here, but the SD are not initialised, so, he don't find the ringtone...
Sounds correct. Thank you for sharing your opinion. However, it's a little bit odd.
Interesting. You could try putting the custom ringtone on your internal memory and see if that fixes it.
Let us know if you try it.
I guess it should work, considering the explanation XtremePower gave and the fact that the original ringtone folder is located on internal memory.

Ok, this happened to me once before, but before that; have you increased notification volume in Sound Settings?
If you have (and thats not the problem), are you on a Gingerbread rom (like Checkrom) and installed a custom mod (like no increasing ring)?
[Also on a side note if you have problems in the future it would be good if you could provide that kind of information before hand]
the sound is at maximum with the configuration of the cell. hearing himself but still very low.
configuration or code which apk secret or I can fix the tone?

Ok, not sure what you said there, but if you did install a custom mod such as 'no increasing ring' on GINGERBREAD Rom then copy and paste (using a root explorer such as es explorer) and copy the attached file to the following folder System --> Lib. Back up your existing file of the same name just in case first. This fixed it for me and hopefully will fix it for you. Make sure you UNZIP it first and use the extracted file libaudiopolicy.so only
Hit the thanks if it helped (or even if it didn't, I don't know how I ended up thanking you but you're welcome nonetheless lol )

Thanks, I'll try
Tired of that "blewp" sound coming from your phone when you make a selection?
What this MOD does is change the UI sounds.
If you want different sounds, attach a link or zip
EDIT. Changed many ui sounds. Affected files are in screen shot . Extract the zip, and place the .Ogg files in the folder /system/media/audio/ui
Please hit thanks if you like. This helps
REBOOT then done
IF YOU FIND THOS MOD AT:

DO NOT DOWBLOAD!. Whoever posted it, is a fake.
