I rooted and backed up and file was saved to internal sd but after FC9 update and reroot, my next nandroid was saved to ext sd card. Is this how it's supposed to be? I don't recall having any destination choices.

No sure but i have read Team Epic, changed the last update for the CWW recovery, so all backups go to ext sdcard only.

Okay and how do you go about creating a new backup? just do it right over it?
because i heard that it takes up a lot ofspace
Shouldn't the real question be: why is this in the development section?...

think it creates another folder for the new backup... .What I do is, do the backup and move it to my external sdcard or copy it to dropbox or pc until need. The backup should be around 1.5GB...
nevermind..i got it
Does anyone know where the backups are saved to? I did a quick search but couldn't find it
Clockworkmod in the internal sdcard
Mine are saved in Clockworkmod folder on my external micro sd card
Moved to proper forum.
can anybody tell me how to enable sideloading so i can install CWM
i'm rooted with the OTA update
So I downloaded titanium backup but when I back apps. It doesn't back them up to my external SD card but instead to my internal SD card, please help

Change the backup folder from Preferences screen
Yea I looked around online and I moved the backup file to the external SD. My only question now is if I get a new phone and of course the titanium app isn't on there, if I just reinstall it than it'll detect my back ups on my sdcard right?

Thank you, well i guess problem solved
While trying to do a Nandroid backup, I get a error stating, failure to back up boot image. What causes that and how do you fix it?

Does our version of CWM have the 4 gig limit?
The reason I ask is because on another phone the nandroid backup fails if your internal SD card had too much saved to it.

I think I'm too inexperienced to be rom'ing on my everyday phone. I was running Team Objection lf5 and it was great except for google voice and MHL-out. So I decided to play with CM9. Now I cannot revert back to Objection? CWM recovery menu does not see ANYTHING on my external sd card. But when I pop the card into my laptop everything is still there, including all 3 of my CWM backup dates. What gives? I installed TWRP recovery to see if that was any different but it shows my backups as blank too. (Can TWRP even see/use CWM backup files anyways??).
So if the backups are there....how do you recommend I go about regaining access to them? Thank you in advance for saving my butt!
TWRP cannot use CWM backups and when u boot into CWM u should have an option to restore from internal memory or SD card, which is external. Try that

CWM gives me something like "directory not found" both when SD is mounted and unmounted.
Might be that CM9 is having terrible seeing the external. Put the backup on your internal.

This is true, it's only navigating the internal SD. BUT I can't mount the internal in CM9 to move the backups there. I'm stuck right?
No, flash a ROM, then move the backup on your phone, them restore the backup

Got it. I'm in CM9 right now. Got USB storage "working" in that it connects, but while copying my clockworkmod folder to the internal it will cause the phone to reboot each and every time. (4x so far). I'll keep trying but this was an absolute waste of a day.
External has been wonky on CM9, just flash another ROM, preferably tw based, so you can transfer the file, then restore your backup.

Holy crap the whole problem was incompatibility between CWM and CWMtouch versions. Never would have guessed, but then again I know so little that I thought the backups they create would be compatible. Thanks everyone for your help.
CM7 was/is great on my Incredible, but it appears I am not ready for CM9 on the Note. (With the bugs in CM9 I cannot believe people are asking for CM10 already, yikes). Then again, the is on my everyday, daily driver including work phone so I need every little thing to work right.
So I just inserted and sd card after upgrading, rooting & twrping. My internal storage is almost full. Can I transfer TWRP totally to the sd card or just the backups? Can I put all my contacts on the sd card? Music? Pics? This is my first android phone so I'm all noobed out. Thanks.

TWRP is your system recovery so it has to stay with the system, but your saves can definitely go on your SD. Music and pictures can go on SD also.

Okay, thanks. Is there a way to delete TWRP saves from the internal drive? I looked but didn't see a way.

Yes, you can delete from internal by using a file manager (es file manager i.e.)
Or by navigating to your internal storage while using your PC.

If you made the backups for a reason move them to the sd card or to a PC. Once the backup is gone it's gone. Which begs the question, why make the backup in the first place?

I see what you are saying, but I make updated backups frequently so the previous ones become obsolete. At over 2 gigs apiece I don't keep all my old ones around.
