Rainbow Effect - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Can someone show me a picture of rainbow effect so once I receive my screen protectors I know if it is faulty or not and to replace it with the 2nd one thanks.

Bump need to know what this is!

Did you try a simple Google search?
It's basically you see a rainbow while looking at the screen in sunlight

The same here, but I cracked screen on both so I. Am not very worried about white tone anymore. Sorry, but I have been looking for the answer since I have phone, nobody knows....

DonĀ“t really see any difference on the shots.
Might be due to some protective coating or different pressures the digitizer is connected with the screen which changes the reflection behaviour of the unit.
its hard to get a good picture of it
there is no screen protection
should i call HTC to find out?
is there a way to change to colors somehow?
or am i just kind of screwed
the problem is its hard to notice unless you have two side by side
not many people have 2 HTC HD2s....
i want to know if anyone else like the other guy said that has the same problem

Blue Vertical Lines In Sunlight

Hey guys. Was out and about the other day and was using my phone and as I tilted the phone down out of the glare of the sun I noticed some weird vertical lines on my screen. Each evenly spaced same colour etc.
I can not replicate the effect unless there is large amounts of light or im outside in real light. BEAR IN MIND ITS ONLY VISIBLE AT CERTAIN ANGLES.
The lines don't appear on any pictures or hinder the video. They ar only visible during sunlight.
What im wondering has anybody else got this I will say issue. Or any insight as to what it could be? If there's a problem Carphone warehouse will want to repair it and not give me a swap for a new phone. What light does anyone have to share. Or am I just being paranoid?
My Titan is exactly the same, I think its just the way the screen works and is nothing to worry about.

I've got mine from Carphone warehouse. Haven't noticed this yet. They will replace it for you within 28 days. Else it goes to HTC for repairs. However, where did you find this sunlight? It's been so gloomy out here. BTW as mentioned above, this could be just the normal screen behaviour. The other two issues with screen that have come up so far are - the pink dot in the middle and grey keys visible on white background. Nothing back from HTC.
Hold your Titan with the screen directly facing you, at about 3/4 arms' length (as in, just sorta normally with your elbow bent a little) under diffuse light, with the phone powered up and the screen off.
Then tilt the phone backwards. As you get about 3/4 of the way back, you might see a regular pattern of thin stripes running up and and down on the screen.
They are not visible when the screen is powered up. I think it's just a normal part of the way the LCD panel works. As an analog, on my Dell Venue Pro, I could see a grid of dots under its AMOLED screen when looking closely at an oblique angle similar to as described above.
I also have a matte finish screen protector on my Titan, which might be making this more pronounced. In any case, it is absolutely *not* happening when the screen is powered up -- even in black areas of the screen.
Hmmm... Maybe it's a future charging grid.
have you guys noticed anything new in regard to htc amaze blue lines. i just go the phone a week ago and i have been noticying the same things. any new info thank.
My Titan also has these blue vertical lines, and it is seen only in daylight with screen off.
I see the same too but I thought it was from my screen protector...

Is my Super AMOLED busted or something?

So i've heard that the S-AMOLED and S-AMOLED Plus technology has "Perfect" Blacks! Like the Blacks don't even "Light-up".
Is it true? Or is it just a marketing thing? :/
Try this and tell me what do u have?
Turn off all the lights in the night and then view some BLACK picture. U'll see that the Blacks are kinda "Greyish" :/
And there are some pixels that are perfectly black.. but they're just Random... :/
known "issue" on lowest screen brightness
Ohk.. So its not "Completely Black".
theres also another problem with it aswell... When I view some pitch black picture in a completely dark room. I see some small rectangular shapes that are "Pitch Black" in that Greyish background. I cant snap a picture of that unfortunately but u kinda get the idea. Can someone try this with there own S3 and report me? :/
It'll be quite helpful
Is well known issue.

Mine does the same thing: darker black splotches when viewing a black picture on the dimmest screen setting in a dark room.
Fortunately I don't often find myself looking at all-black images in the dark. It's hardly a major issue.
this issue is quite common, even on iPads, Motorola etc...apparently it is the adhesive within the layers of the AMOLED that causes an "ink" mark when screen displays black images within a dark environment...nothing is actually wrong with your scren, mine has 2 very small dots...while my other friend has had his replaced because the issue was far more prominant...so there is a possibility of claiming warranty? but this will depend on the country/retailer/etc...but always worth giving it a shot if you cant stand this issue...but yes, earlier batches, the issue was far more obvious...but later ones are better but information from other XDA threads suggest that you WONT find a unit without any marks...period.

White line across the screen

I have a very light white line across the screen just below the AOD clock.
Now this line is like a smudge and if i rub on the line it vanishes but after sometime it comes back at exactly the same spot.
I dont know how to explain but it seems like dust line and not something that is inside on the screen.
Is anyone else facing this?
May be its oleophobic coating wearing off..
That's crazy
I just got that today as well. Unless I hadn't noticed it before but my phone is 2 weeks old. I have not dropped it at all
I have the exact same thing on my phone, I also noticed it on my wifes phone.
Same here ..
The AOD clock moves, so your description doesn't quite help.
If you use an app like "Display Tester" to show a black screen, do you see the line?

i also have this issue
it like a white haze, a vertical line across the sides of the screen, before it curves to the sides. i have it both sides however left side is longer. it doesn't look like a scratch or burn-in, it's like a vertical haze that won't get removed with any wiping or cleaning.
its not really noticeable in general, only most noticeable when screen is turned off or when it is displaying black or dark images.
Smudge on screen
I am using Smasung S9 Plus and I don't know what is the proper name for it but i am facing same issue.
Temp Solution : It gives you temp solution by using Touch Screen Wipes and Dry Cotton clothes .
but after one or two days it comes again so i am waiting for permanent solution.

Screen Gone!

Anyone still here?
I left my watch face down in some water and the screen is what I think burnt out. The watch works, it pairs with the phone, and the screen might show some pixels or shadows of text, but it's simply unusable.
I tried to see if anybody has a fix or a way to replace the screen (let alone find a screen replacement) but couldn't find any.
Any suggestions?
Get a New Display pannel with touch
