Ok, thanks.. thats lame tho lol!

From what I heard is that if you only have 1 keyboard enabled then it won't show up. For me though, when I only have 1 keyboard enabled sometimes the icon will be there and sometimes not...buggy.

Its probably because HTC sense screws with ics too much

FWIW - It doesnt happen on SlimRom with the default keyboard, but does happen with the TouchPal keyboard.....

good to know. im planning on flashing slimrom in a couple days after the verizon engineers heck out LTE in my area
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda app-developers app

I could be completely wrong about this but my understanding of the keyboard icon in your taskbar was happening because you have an "installed" keyboard. It's not stock. The keyboard application is what is putting that icon there.

Well, lets just say Im not going to use the HTC keyboard.. I installed the ICS keyboard from the market, and am using it until, I decide if I wanna flash a new rom (aka slimrom) that has the aosp keyboard built in.

anybody having issues with it not being default when selected prior to reboot. Also when trying to use the notification dropdown to change keyboards, it's never listed and you have to go enable it through settings again.
Also, text prediction is not enabled when using sms notification popup with handcent.
Any ideas?

Same problem here, but only when the popup is on top of the lockscreen. It's fine if my t-bolt is already unlocked when the handcent popup appears.

when using the keyboard in the text app the keyboard stops vibrating after a couple key presses.....works at first....i think this feature is called tactile feedback

Using a diff launcher (apex and nova) the widget menu (home screen long pressed) is unreadable.
The vibe/silence option on the lock screen will get changed depending on the last option used-not sure if bug
Annoying keyboard options in the notification tray whenever the keyboard is up.

Where specifically in the L&I menu is the notification option. I'm using swiftkey and don't see anything about that notification.

Keyboard notification is not a bug. It was present on the HTC OneX running 4.0.4 as well as the GS2 running 4.0.3. Its a "feature". I also dont like it.
Great. I didn't even notice the KB notification until this thread. Now it's annoying the hell out of me.
keyboard notification is a quicker way to switch languages (like if you are typing in spanglish)
only bug ive found was the lack of a 4G toggle.

How to show a line beneath bad spelled words like in iOS

Since I have my SGS3 a few weeks ago there's something missing and I don't know why. I'm talking about the in line spell checking.
In ICS when you misspell a word a red dotted line appears underneath that word, so you can easily see the mistake and fix it. This is also present in iOS.
Why don't we have that on our SGS3? I really need it to easily check for any mistakes when writing emails and other stuff.
Right now there is no way to see when a word is incorrectly written. I have to re-read all my text again to see if it's correct and it takes to long compared to just looking for the red dots.
It's it just me or is there a way of enabling this feature? I downloaded the ICS keyboard from the market and it doesn't have this much needed feature.
I don't understand why no one seems to find this to be a problem.

samsung keyboard, settng, predictive text, spell correction
Thanks but that's not what I mean. I still don't get any visible sign on a misspelled word. I'm not talking about spell checker.
What I want is something like iOS when you misspell a word and a red dotted line appears beneath the word. That way it's very easy to check for misspelled word on very long notes.
I think I saw this same feature on the ICS keynote. A line appears beneath the mistakes word and it gives you a list of optional words to change to.
This does not appear on my SGS3. Maybe it's because it's not stock Android. How can I get this?
Thanks.

No, no, no. It doesn't need to work like iOS. I'm saying that stock Android has this feature but I don't see it on the SGS3 and that is weird. Stock Android shows you a line beneath any word misspelled. Why not the SGS3?
There has to be a way to show it.

I've already downloaded the ICS and JB keyboards and still that feature is not present. It's not present strangely on any keyboard: Swype, swiftkey, go keyboard, etc. It's actually really weird. It's an essential feature and it comes with stock Android. I don't know if this problem is only with Samsung or if HTC has it too.
Will moving the keyboard file to system really work? I will try it.
My last resort would be to use CM10 I guess.

Nice. thanks
Radio is now 1.12.11.1119 and 4G is working inside my office building...no more having to go outside it seems.....
Updates to the Gallery. Now when you open it up you can pick the source
Update to the music app. Same with gallery...you can pick the source.
Update to how it handles 4G and WiFi..basically promising to turn them off when it knows it won't need them as opposed to always scanning.
Update to message app. There are more settings for personalization such as changing bubble colors and background
Low res contact fix which is common for all 4.1 I think
Color scheme change from green to blue to match JB
Pin enabled lock screen change
You can open up the maps to see where your pictures were taken
Stock browser has new look and is JB updated
Power saver
Keyboard has been changed up as well. Now can turn off arrows. Can't turn off prediction (well idk how to)
And more stuff...so far what I pointed out is just what I found to be important to me. I just now got to install this >.< I unrooted and updated.
Edit:
The HTC music app widget in the notification area now has the option to go back as well as pause and go forward
Wallpapers no longer scroll (figuring out of this is on purpose or if there's something i need to mess with)

The soundhound app that was built in now has an icon in the apps tray. Never did before and I had to search for it. I know there was a workaround, I just never got around to doing it.

Floating Notifications....app

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=robj.floating.notifications I ran into this the other day and thought wow this works really well espcially for mycolorscreen set up i have curretnly with no status bar or anyting was really liking, i believe this is to replicate the "holo" feature on cm rom's you guys tried this what do you guys think??
So ive seen this out for a while now, and thought it was some cheesey knockoff version of Holo. I said to myself why waste my time. Then seeing this thread, and being bored I just gave it a go. Boy am I glad I did, ive run AOSP roms with holo and its still nothing compared to this. This is like simple multitasking amd they can be hidden whenever! Much better!
Thanks for being the one to make me finally try this out!
