Did you have them on the external, which /sdcard is on aosp roms, which i can see you're using.
Or internal, which is now /emmc?
Simple mix up if you were on tw right before aosp

SOLVED. Inturnal nor no was on ics have been sense came out. Nor sure whats up but when I go to flash something its all there just can't find it with root explore. Which makes it hard to delete old stuff

Thanks for helping.
AFTER READING YOUR POST ON HELPING ME WITH "emmc" being possible . Looked and there they were
Thanks again this why we are here to help each other and make better devices

Not sure if you got what i was saying or not.
Internal sdcard is /emmc
So from where you are in that pic..go back to the parent folder, then go back again, then back once more, that should be the root directory.
From there you should see /emmc
That's your internal sdcard, you will be able to find your zips from here.
(This is a themed root explorer)
Root directory, see /emmc?

[Solved] Storage Problem

After a recent rom flash my apps would no longer install saying that I had insufficent space. I've looked aroudn my device and it appears there's plenty of available space however I don't know if there's something I'm missing or if it may have been a bad flash? I tried reverting back to a backup and I continued having the problem.
Thanks

I think you had a bad flash id suggest you to go to recovery and flash the same rom you're using and see if it works and if it doesnt try odin and thats 100% sure thats goin to fox your problems and if you continue to have the same problem then the rom if the one thats giving you troubles... if it is try flashin another rom such as trigger..

It's funny that you would say go to Odin because that's what I eventually resolved to do and....bricked my device. Thank you for your advice though it's been quite valuable for future applications!
Nice screenshots buddy! That helps. Can you open Root Explorer and go into /system and take one? In the top left you should see used space and free space available. What kinda numbers are you getting?
*EDIT* I added my screenshot

Why does he need to know how much space is left on the /system partition when that's not a "writeable" area? If anything, it's the /data partition he should be doing this to.

Do it to both, LOL. I'm pretty sure mine is read/write tho thats why I paid for Root explorer I think? My screen shot shows it as r/w and I can mount it as r/o if I want but I kinda like it being writable. Now I'm cunfused and my head hurts. Time to, "Fire it up!"
*EDIT* I added my screenshot of /data I thought I had alot of free space in /system but jesus!
I have a very similar problem, but mine said that the application can't be downloaded and I have to check if I have enough memory in/system. I can't find any answer to this as well.

Parusia, use an ODIN pit file and stock firmware and see if that will re-partition the phone. If it still will not, PM me as I can fix this with JTAG.

odd folder sucking up all my storage space

I recently flashed cm10.1 on my GS3 and now I've got all my internal storage stuck in the storage/emulated/0/android/obb or storage/emulated/legacy/android/obb locations. Under settings it shows total space 12.05gb, available is 668mb but less than 1/4 of the visual bar is full and accounted for. Sd maid is showing the obb folder is holding 11.39gb but no matter what explorers I use it always appears empty. Anyone know how to free up this spae? I can't find anything anywhere about this. Thank you ion advance.
Edit:
Restoring it doesn't free the space up at all. Even tried restoring my backups and the space remains full.

This is happening to me on my Nexus 4, no solution found yet
Same problem
I'm currently having this problem and used the SD Maid app and it says the exact same thing. Did anyone ever find a solution?
Only thing that worked was formatting the internal memory. A restore won't do it, must be a fill format. Feels great to have the space back.
that's because of the previous firmware's data saved on your phones. just perform a full emmc(only internal memory) wipe.
The answer is in my signature. No need to wipe anything

I just did what you said in your thread and it deleted everything on my internal SD Card...
Edit: Although I lost some stuff, it did fix my problem...

No it didn't. If you deleted eveything on your internal sdcard you did not do what I said in my thread
Can you provide me the link to it? I failed to find your solution in your signature....

Storage issues!

I'm running mean bean 3.09. My phone says all of its storage is full and I can't figure it out. I hardly have any music or media files. I click on the "make more storage option" but don't see any solutions. Actually that makes it much more confusing. Does meanbean see file systems differently? Anyway to find out what is clogging up the phone? Maybe files are redundant in multiple places?

Are you using ota updater? Have you deleted all your downloaded ROM's? Have you used a file explorer to look thru your folders? Something is taking up space.
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
I have deleted the ota downloads and using file explore I don't see anything over a few mb in size. All the DCIM storage is on my external card.

Were you on any AOSP ROM's before? Have you done a wipe on your internal storage at all recently? Have you been doing dirty flashes? Have you been flashing a lot? Doing any restores?

I've only had that problem after flashing many AOSP ROM's and going back and forth from sense to AOSP. Just backup your files onto your external, wipe internal, move back, and then you should be fine. If not then you'll just have to do a clean install and wipe internal before flashing again. I did that with a restore with no issues.

Almost identical storage situation
Running the same MeanBean version, no AOSP ROMs, deleted OTAs, etc. When looking with Disk Usage type apps I'm still not finding what is taking up all the space. (I have plenty free on the external card.) Need to find what it is categorizing as "Other". Now I'm wondering about old email..

Looks like its spinning cause it's searching thru the emulator (SDCARD0) should be searching thru SDCARD. See if you can get to settings and click on preferences, then second set is the backup folder location. Click it, set search whole device, tthen when it's done select use current device. Hopefully this help.

My internal sd says 9 gigs is taken up

So I have searched and searched through my phone and I can't find what is taking up all my space. I"m on Nos M7 3.05, android 4.2.2. It created the sd card 0 which is fine but it's like there is some hidden files that are taking up so much space. I was on a older version of nos and did a back up. Flashed this and now I can't find my back up. Can anyone help me?

Well I looked there before, and yes it has my old stuff but nothing in there was taking up that much space. So it was data/media/emulated I deleted media which only had the emulated file there. It broke the rom i was on, but I fixed it with a adb sidload. So now it says I have ten gigs, I guess must have had an hidden back up in there or something.Still missing 5 gigs? I mean at least 3 taken up by the os right?
did you try to erase old backups in the clockworkmod folder?

What you deleted was a symlink to your /0 folder, so you basically deleted your sdcard as 4.2+ sees it, your 4.1 stuff may still be in /data/media. Not all file explorers show it correctly, solid does and I think maybe es might in root mode, otherwise a lot get confused by the symlinking and show your /0 not data/media.
If you don't have solid, there's a trial doe it, give it a try, or other root explorers, and see if you can see inside /data/media.
