DTS music player - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey, I am trying to play DTS music. I have one .WAV files, which is in DTS format (5.1 channels). It can be played on the PC, but on SGS3 is hearing some noise only. I tried several thisrd party players and the stock one, but no success. Any idea how to play it?

Worth trying the beta VLC media player from the market.
Otherwise you will have to recode the file to a more recognizable format .

The new VLC player for Android?

When is it available? I can't find the right player what handles all the streaming formats from mp3 till Windows Media Player files (asx, wma, mms://) etc. Something like the TCPMP player or Core Player for Windows Mobile.
VLC - when its done
I dont know exactly what formats mplayer supports but you could give it a try
Give "Rock player" a try. It plays everything I have.

i 2nd rock player. not a video format ive throwin its way it hasnt played
Rock Player is good. But VLC Stream and Convert already works. You can easily setup a VPN at home if you have trouble and it works flawlessly. Only challenge is transcoding Real Media files which are usually a ***** and quite rare anyway.
Meridian is decent
available beta
A beta of the vlc player is now available.

[Q] Best way to play .avi / video files?

So, I'm trying out various Android market apps on my rooted NT, trying to find a way to play .avi files. These videos easily on my Android phone: drag, drop, and play. But since the NT doesn't naively support .avi (and other common video extension) files, what can I do? Do I have to install codecs or something? Thanks.
Download MX player is the best out there, in the nook tablet works perfectly you can install the codecs for Arm7 only if it tells you to. It support many video formats including AVI by default.

Yeah, I tried that app, along with some of its codecs. No luck. If I take the time to convert files in Handbrake to .mp4, it'll work, but my old laptop takes forever.
Whenever (an it's not often) i get a file that doesn't work in MX Player.. then Mobo player usually does the job... with no extra codecs to install

Yeah, I also tried Mobo, didn't work.
I wonder what's wrong? It can't be the video files, as they play just fine on my Samsung GSII.
Yeah i think you are defiantly doing something wrong..
In MX player and Mobo Player make sure you're using the SW decode for playing the movies..
Apart from that maybe you need to provide a little more info so we can help you troubleshoot. The NT definitely plays AVI and it does it quite well so maybe there's just something a little screwed up in your system..
thnaks
it worked for me

how can I see .mkv

How can i play .mkv on SXs??
i downloade rockplayer but the video stopped after some times of viewing it..can u tell me another one?
You can try MX Player.
Or search the play store, I'm sure you'll find something there.

MX Player can play all formats may be the file you viewed was error (not properly copied) try another file
Yea MX Player is so legit.
You Can use V Player...which will let you run all types of video format's...I use it....and i am satisfied by its performance
Go for QQ player or Vital player...both free apps in google play store!!
BS Player Lite is also good, allows playback of mkv files in hardware mode (which means Bravia Engine would work)
Standard Movie Player Works
Tried some .mkv files on my Sony Sola and they played using the standard movie player. Still on stock GB .564 system. MoboPlayer also plays these files in the hardware decoding mode.

mx player

Hello i downloaded MX player but when i am trying to play Bluray riped files there is no sound... i downloaded all the codecs but still no sound... does anybody has this kind of problem?
thanks
Be carefull: DTS support has been removed from latest MX Player due to licence issue
So if the sound of your file is DTS, it might be the issue...

Video files.

Hi guys,
I have some news to share, if you would call it news XD
Recently, .mkv video files started playing on my player through the stock video player.. And before, it said "Video cannot be played." Weird right? Has anyone experienced the same, video files that are not supported by the player start working all the sudden?
Try with VLC for Android. In PC is the perfect video player...

No, I'm saying .mkv files started to play on the stock video player, which isnt supported..
The "mvk" is just the container of the "real video" (audio + video) and doesn't tell anything about the codec used in audio and video streams.
You can get both audio and video, you can even get only video or only audio and sometimes you get nothing, this is because the stock player can't decode the streams due to codec missing.
Just try a different player. On my PC I use K-Lite Mega Codec Pack and on android I found MX Player truly complete, so i'd suggest this.
