Hi All,
Something that stops me using these ROMS is the stock camera app.
I find that the camera does not produce as good results as Samsung camera application.
I have tried Viginette and wasn't too impressed.
Does anyone know if we will see Samsung cam app ported to these roms or is there a better alternative to use?

I don't think there will be a Samsung camera app port in those ROMs, because (someone correct me if I'm wrong) the Samsung camera app uses some Touchwiz stuff.
You could take a look here though: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28173707#post28173707
It's a new project, AOSP camera with improvements. Tip: the guy takes requests
Samsung camera or equivalent on AOKP or CM9
Hi all,
Thanks a lot for this camera. I'm using the Omega AOKP V7 rom (CM10.1) on my S3, and although it has the same camera in it as this one, some bugs are now fixed. With the one in the omega rom I had a few (small) problems. The front camera got stuck after one photo, and although you selected SD card as storage, the internal (emulated) sd card was used anyway. All fixed with this version.

I have been using both neobuddy's and i9000 port versions, V6 and 2.5 beta, but my ffc is not working properly.
The symptoms are:
When i open up a camera app, rear camera is just fine, but the ffc is elongated, and if i take a picture, it only saves a blank grey image and the gallery cannot open the image as well.
I tried MIUI and it was all good, but I desire ICS, thanks for neobuddy and guys doing the wonderful work! but i just wish i could make a use of my ffc.
What could i do to make it work? is it the kernel problem?
Thanks in advance for your responses!!
I noticed the exact same things too. No wonder face unlock didn't work heh.
Might be kernel prob but maybe camera files since Video record doesn't work either.
I'm a big fan of CM and other non-Samsung versions of Android. In the past, there has been no real reason to keep Samsung based ROMs. But with the S3, the stock camera app seems so much better than everything else, this is a problem.
Are there any ways of running the stock camera app in CM at the moment?
OR
Are there any alternative camera apps that can do the kind of continuous speed shooting (20 exposures etc.) that the Samsung stock app can do?

I would recommend using hx camera mod. I can say that it 's the best camera app so far especially when recording a video at 30Mbit - 1080p superfine. Try to look at this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1691145 or http://hx-custom-roms.com/galaxy-s3-camera-mod

Thanks. I think this will only work on stock roms though as it is Samsung framework dependant. What I really want is something that will allow me to leave Samsung roms and move to for example Cyanogen mod, but keep the additional functionality found in the Samsung camera app.

i liked the ultrapixel feature
Are there any Jelly Bean ROMs for the Atrix 4G that have properly functioning cameras? The camcorder isn't a must but would be nice, however the camera has to work properly for me. I flashed one over the weekend and it didn't work right. It would work after the first use on any camera app, then if I exited the app and wanted to return to it later, it would say it couldn't connect to the camera and I had to restart the phone just to use the camera.
If there aren't any JB ROMs that fit the billing, are there any ICS ones that do? Or even any GB ones?
Want a dully fictional camera use gb based roms. That being said, I use Th3bills xenon rom with camera ics+ and haven't had the camera crash once. And I am constantly snapping pics of my crazy animals.
Hello everyone, help me please, I'm sick and tired of stock firmware, I would like to move on cyanogenmod 11, but I am haunted by the lack of stock music player and video list may have sposob make them work on the cm 11, I understand that in the cm of another application media server, can can solve the problem? (of course quite elegant could cram even video codecs from stock firmware even without stock video player) Help, can you somehow them to port, stock music player with his equalizer + Viper give wonderful sound. Help me, please.
Samsung apps does not work on AOSP ROMs. You will have to use alternatives.

Do not tell, because why? And maybe there is some sort of video player animated preview app-like video list?
There are ups and downs to different types of roms.
TouchWiz: Laggy(yds), features u will miss when gg to aosp etc, camera, the apps by samsung
Aosp etc: Poor camera quality, the stock music player app is not good, however very fast and snappy, no lag at all.

on the lg p990 forum we had the same problems with cyano.
Someone ported part of the lg framework on AOSP and we were able to use the official lg's camera (extracted from ICS) on cm10, instead of the crappy aosp one.
No way we can do something similar with i9300?
sorry, but it's not about the pros cyanide, about samsung apps, frameworks and TouchWiz also have ports, so why not to port these two applications?
Hi
I´m on omnirom 4.4.4 with my sgs3 and it´s very smooth. However, the camera-app that came with gapps is not so good as the stock samsung camera. Is there a way to install the stock samsung camera app? Or is there another camera app that is as good or even better? It´s mainly the filming thats my problem.
Thanks in advance
