[Q] Samsung Galaxy S5670 Fit ROM query

Hi xda, i bought Samsung Galaxy S5670 Fit as my first android device and i m not very familiar to android handling. Well i m here to ask how can i upgrade my Device from froyo to gingerbread. My friend told me how to root using superoneclick rooting and i have successfully rooted the phone. Next step he told me was to install ROM manager and Flash ClockWorkMod recovery to backup my froyo apps and setting and everything. I tried to flash ClockWorkMod but it failed since i don't have any 3g/wifi connection to my device. Now i need help that how can i back up my Froyo ROM (incase i brick my phone during upgrade) and get firmware and all the necessary file for the upgrade. So far i know that gingerbread is available only in europe version (i m from asia) and only thing i need to do after upgrading to 2.3 is to change language. Can i get some guidance to backup my froyo rom for recovery and upgrade to gingerbread?
it(gb 2.3) is available trough kies
dont try to install clockworkmod recovery in G-FIT. its not available for this mobile.
U can download gingerbread rom from samfirmware.com and use odin to flash this firmware.
And u can also download froyo rom from the same site but u cant get asia rom as it is not available.
And important i am not sure it is possible to install froyo after installing gingerbread.
I am not telling its not possible, but i dont know.
And gingerbread have many bugs. Its not final release.
i have a S5670 too...is it safe n possible 2 upgrade it 2 gb 2.3 (i seriously dont wana brick it )...also is da upgrade worth it ,i heard der isnt much diff betwn froyo n gb except fr da keyboard
There is firmware S5670XXKPG with Android 2.3.4 at samfirmware.com... you can download and flash it with no problems...

yes u can upgrade to GB without any prob and yes there are no diff btwn froyo and gb visually. both r same. But performance wise gb is gud and many GB features are dissabled by samsung. and its testing version and the first version. its not final. So it is having many bugs.
download the GB rom from samfirmware and flash using odin. try it. if u want to get back to froyo, just download the 2.2.1 froyo version rom from same site and flash using odin.

No firmware upgrade in India yet? Last one being KF3

Why is it that only one country has got the KG5/KG7 update via Kies so far??
When is the rest of the world going to get the new firmware. We, in India, are still on KF3 officially. When are we going to get the Android 2.3.4 update? WAKE UP SAMSUNG!
Flash Revolution 2.4 KG6 Rom ...
The best Rom for this phone by a mile...who cares about stock firmwares...

^ I care, in fact I only care about Stock firmwares.
@OP- Two more weeks, it will be there I believe
Regards.
Yes everyone in india seems to be stuck at kf3 ...but i have a few questions
1.Do you also have problems with frame rate in video recording.i.e the video stutters and frame rate being variable drops to 13 sumthing.
2.Is this problem solved in kg 5 / kg7
3.Y samsung coming out with tens of official firmwares...and how the base band version which is ke2 differs from kernel and build number which are kf3 each.
4.And can you upgrade to kg5 by replacing kernel and rom via unofficial methods such as odin.

[Q] LWW - restored to original GB 2.3.4 - how to upgrade to 4.0

Hi. I have just flashed by ftf stock orm, then relocked bootloader and now if I want to upgrade from 2.3.4 to 4.0.4 what should I do? Normally I get a message in PC Companion, now I don't. It says I am updated. I am on T-mobile PL and I should have it (I have done it once before flashing custom roms). Should I download correct version for TMOBILE?
And will they accept it on warranty service if it would be neccessary?
And which custom rom with quadrant score 3000+ could you recommend me?
Which .ftf did you flash? Maybe you flashed one whose CDA still hasn't got the update. To upgrade to ICS, just flash ICS
And if you want to root it follow THIS tutorial
Yeah, I can, but that's not it. I want to have everything working. If there should be upgrade, then there should be an upgrade... I flashed WT19i_4.0.2.A.0.62_1254-1889
Well, that SI is not in THIS list... so i suppose you can't update yet

[Q] Modified status after flashing stock using odin?

Hello,
I have a international galaxy s3, which after getting repaired by a local shop, they put in a 'KOR' version of the software. So I need to revert back to my official country's software because it wont let me upgrade past 4.0.4 because of different CSC . I downloaded the official software and will flash through odin.
I wanted to ask, if someone would kindly tell me, that if I flash the official samsung software 4.1.2 for my country onto my phone, the binary count increases yes, but will my status of my phone be modified or it will be official? Like will I be able to upgrade OTA or kies or I am stuck with Odin flashing?
I am on a non rooted 4.0.4 software with binary count 2 if that matters.
The attachment shows the error kies gives me. I know what to flash on my phone. I just need to know if my status will be modified or not because currently its not
Thank you!
you'll be able to update OTA as long as you're not rooted

[Q] Firmware Upgrade 4.3

Hi guys, hope all of you are fine doing well. I am using Galaxy S III International Version I-9300 came from UK upgraded to Android 4.3. Today when I connected my phone to KIES, following message appeared
Firmware Upgrade available for your phone:
Current firmware version : PDA:MK6 / PHONE:MK1 / CSC:MK4 (VOD)
Latest firmware version : PDA:NA5 / PHONE:NB1 / CSC:NB1 (VOD)
I've searched on internet, but the latest firmware version as per KIES is also 4.3. do I need to perform this Upgrade or not ? ? ?
NA5 is just a newer build firmware of android 4.3 than MK6... so if you just want your phone updated only then go ahead with it... if you are happy if the current version then I would say stay with it..
But if you feel some lag in your current build then just go ahead with it.. it may improve your user experience a bit as newer build is considered to be with few fixes obviously...

Hi, newbie to the forums but I have the same issue with my wifes S3. The only difference is that the OTA says there is an upgrade, but this fails and says to use Kies.
When using Kies to upgrade it seems to go ok, the device firmware is downloaded/passed to the S3.... But when the S3 reboots and I connect it back to Kies it says the upgrade still needs to happen??
Anyone else getting this problem?
