Turned my Sprint CDMA EVO 3D (S-OFF, rooted, MeanROM ICS 1.4) on today and the screen flickerd and went out, it still rings when I call it and I think touch is OK since I was able to hang up on myself by tapping in the right place. I have Sprint total protection, but I want to flash back to stock, unroot, and S-ON so they don't get any funny ideas. Can I do this through USB and ADB? USB debugging is on.
Thanks!
If the screen is dead, there is no way sprint could tell it's rooted.

Well if the screen is out, they'd have to fix it before finding out your rooted and unlocked! I'd say just send it in, as is. But I do think the unroot method is done only on the computer if you're really worried about it.
If ur that worried about it bat pull put an ruu on ur sdcard flash that then fastboot oem writesecureflag 3 and ur done

Somthing similar happend to me i was not able to unroot my phone because my phone did not connect to the computer. My screen was often getiing stuck on the lower part of the phone and home botton did not work. Turned of my phone and called asurion paid my deductable and they send me a refurbished phone. I belive they will charge younfor the repair if the phone is rooted, even tho they will fix it ferst if u call them they will tell you that on the term and conditions.
Thanks for the advice everyone!
Arceo85 did you have Sprint Total Protection and they still made you pay?
I've read the horror stories about local stores flipping out when they hear you rooted your device. One guy on here last summer mentioned it in the store, they never saw it they just blacklisted it by marking his device as stolen. He kept calling the CEO about it, got a hold of internal memos saying not to **** with rooted users, etc. not sure how that ended. Regardless I'd rather have everything in shipped condition when I bring it in tomorrow.
I've been using Android Screencast to view my phone through my PC, thankfully the touchscreen is still working as ICS currently has no mouse/keyboard support in the app.
https://code.google.com/p/androidscreencast/
got on there and made a full titanium backup, used 4ext's software to reboot into an automated nandroid backup since the recovery screen is garbled through Screencast.
Then it got ugly.
I used an app to reboot into bootloader, waited and pressed power once to get into fastboot, I set the flag through the command line and rebooted. Device never showed up on ADB again. I still haven't flashed the RUU (the default USB debugging in the RUU is off and I figured cutting my lifeline would be the last step). I battery pulled, waited 2 min and turned it on, no adb, waited for it to boot like 10 min and called it- went straight to voicemail. It's apparently bricked.
I'm going to try this unbrick now: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1627917
At least I have the backups.
My volume-up button went bad about 3 months ago, I walked into the Sprint store (The Parks Mall in Arlington TX) and asked them if they could repair the button. The rep took my phone and immediately did a reboot and the MeanROM bootscreen appeared, lol. He asked what rom I was running and I told him and he said "cool!" and walked away and came back a few minutes later with another EVO 3D (refurb), handed it to me and said "Have a great day!"
Took it in yesterday, they exchanged it no questions asked. Just finished downgrading and restoring my nandroid. Thanks everyone!

You shouldn't restore nandroids from other phones. Especially with wimax, you can easily overwrite your wimax keys.
If your screen ever dies try using an mhl adapter. As long as the touch input is ok

I've looked through a few threads here and on other websites regarding the Rezound not turning on. I can't find one that matches my situation.
My wife's Rezound went completely dead last night. She remarked in bed that the battery was only 5% and that she didn't want to get up to plug it in. It of course would not turn on this morning. After being plugged in all day it still would not turn on. I pulled the battery for 5 minutes and replaced and still nothing. Holding Power+Volume Down for 30 seconds does nothing. This is where I started searching online.
Attempting adb reboot does nothing as it said device not found. I saw on another thread that the Rezound battery will fit in the Thunderbolt. I was thinking was I in luck since I have a Thunderbolt. I but the Rezound battery in, plugged it in and charged it to 60%. But when I put it back in the Rezound I can't get it to turn on.
When I plug in the Rezound the indicator lights do not come on at all, even for a brief second. I saw in one thread that the issue may be attributed to CWM recovery. But I have only put on Amon Ra since we got the Rezound a few months ago. The ROM is CleanROM Developer Edition.
At this point I am at a loss of what to do and will greatly appreciate any help.
try a diff battery same thing happen to mine
The battery appears fine as it charged OK and worked fine in the Thunderbolt. And I tried my Thunderbolt battery in the Rezound and it didn't work.
take to verizon and say it dont turn on
I will do that tomorrow. Will I have any problems though since the warranty is technically voided since I unlocked it? Say for example they can't get it to turn on with a new battery and want to swap it and they later determine it was unlocked. Will they come after me?
If your using CWR that is why its a problem with that recovery use amon ra. You need to put another battery in not the thunderbolt one try another charged Rezound battery and it should work then switch to amon ra and you'll be good.

Well technically you didn't void the warranty by unlocking, look at the HTC Dev notice that pops up before you unlock, but if you flashed something that made the phone not turn on then it is your fault and you have voided the warranty. Simply put, if you unlock and cause no harm to the device the warranty stays intact but if you unlock and break the device then you are held accountable for what you did.
If it won't power on at all, no matter what, they will give you a replacement, but if you can't get it to power on and you send it back to HTC and they get it back on and see it was your fault then you are going to be pinned with a fee.
i had no trouble returning mine when it did not turn on

I don't know the exact version but it was the latest version when I flashed it a couple months ago. Everything has worked perfectly till now.
Quick question, does the camera store pictures on the SD card or on internal memory? If Verizon gives me a replacement I'm sure my wife will want her pictures.

Plug it in via USB and wait a few minutes. The charging light may or may not flash on for a moment but it will definitely not remain on.
After it's gotten a bit of charge into it, what should happen is that the phone boots into a non-interactive recovery session so that the battery charge daemon loads to control the charging process, as these are fairly sensitive batteries and it's not just a simple matter of "apply power, wait until full" any more.
At this point, leaving the phone plugged in via USB to your computer, attempt to discover the device via adb in the normal way you do ... Try adb devices, or just adb shell. If this doesn't work, you are hosed, go to Verizon, get a new battery, and don't drain your phone to 0% on a custom recovery.
If you DO get into adb shell check and see if your battery is getting any juice at all, by running:
Code:
dmesg | grep BATT
You should see something like ...
Code:
<6>[ 1450.207743] [BATT] htc_batt_get_battery_adc , vref:18602, battid_adc:1087, battid:58
<4>[ 1450.208751] at 1450138728391 (2012-04-17 12:08:10.428736531 UTC)
<6>[ 1450.211802] [BATT] ioctl: battery level update: 9 at 1450141963254 (2012-04-17 12:08:10.432825887 UTC)
<6>[ 1450.212138] [BATT] ID=2, level=9, vol=3750, temp=231, curr=399, dis_curr=0, chg_src=1, chg_en=1, over_vchg=0, batt_state=1 at 1450142359983 (2012-04-17 12:08:10.433161580 UTC)
<6>[ 1450.212596] [BATT] power_supply_changed: battery at 1450142848264 (2012-04-17 12:08:10.433619344 UTC)
What you're looking for in one of those lines is the "level=#" where you can see mine is sucking along nicely at 9% (guess who else did this a couple nights ago? lol.)
At this point, you CAN issue a reboot directly from the shell, your phone will boot into your ROM and the battery charging will be handled by the main system and you're fine.
What happens when you plug it in, unplug it, power down, hold power down, and whatever else you were trying to do is that the phone gets "stuck" in that non-interactive recovery kernel (if it even started it) which then drains the battery back to zero again. Stock CWM doesn't come with the battery daemon so it won't charge and you're SOL at this point. Amon Ra should so you hopefully can get enough charge into the battery to boot the full system. However, it also should recognize the keycodes when you tried to reset it, as it comes with those daemons as well (also CWM does not.)
Leave it plugged in while you try all this, and good luck.

Mine did the same thing if u can figure out how to charge the battery in another device i.e charging your battery in a thunderbolt enough to get it to boot you are good. I still called verizon and reported the problem, they are sending me one out over night. Dail *611 from a verizon device that will get u over to a rep. Easy peezy. Don't worry about unlocked bootloaders and what not as long as there is no excessive physical or water damage u are fine. I know for a fact that is what they check for. You have to remember this is verizon you are dealing with, not HTC

Update: I went to a Verizon store (actually just an authorized reseller) to have it checked out. They had no luck, even with a new battery. The guy said that since the light doesn't even flash it is probably toast. I told him I couldn't even get adb to recognize it. He advised that I go to a Verizon corporate store or call support.
Since the closest corporate store is over 100 miles away and I'm not headed that way any time soon I called Verizon support. I'm surprised at the lack of a fight they put up when I explained in detail everything I tried and requested a new device. It will be here Friday.
I just hope that when I ship the old phone back they don't figure out that it was unlocked and bill me for the new phone or something like that.
So Friday night I'll have the joy or unlocking a new Rezound all over again! It's a really nice device and I am jealous. My wife won't take my Thunderbolt though.
Thanks for the replies everyone!

So, long story short, took the Phone into Sprint so they could look at my headphone jack (was cracked and left ear bud would constantly cut in and out) because its acting up.
Gave the Tech the phone without the battery in it (since he didn’t need to power up the device to clearly see the headphone jack has a huge crack in it) but I left my SD card installed. As he was walking away, I asked him if I could remove my SD card and he let me, then seen that I gave him the phone without a battery. So, I ended up giving it to him (praying he didn’t turn it on and see ViperBoys sick ass ROM booting up) and he accidently pressed the power button turning the phone on. Promptly short after, he removed the battery when the phone was on the HTC screen, didn’t even get the boot animation. I was like OHH $h!t, that gonna mess up my phone & sure as $h!t, it did… Just loops in and out of that screen resetting each time with a little vibrate then looping.
I can get into Fastboot and use ADB, I’ve flashed RUU’s, put Stock image on root of SD and let recovery restore (losing my CWM & my HBOOT 1.400), unlocked, relocked, wiped, thrown, and screamed at it with no luck.
I did do a CWM backup before even setting foot in the Store, so I do have a backup. The 1st thing I tried was restoring it through CWM recovery and that didn’t stop the looping. I can still get into fastboot via power + vol down and adb functionality is still there.
HBOOT is 1.50 and s-on is enabled..
Been reading through threads since lunch and tried many different solutions without success. It seems once a phone is this far gone, people stop responding.
Anyone have any ideas?
New phone will be here tomorrow (free of coarse courtesy of Sprint insurance) but I’ve been without a phone all day and most of yesterday. I’d like to get this one back to stock and booting before I trade it in for the replacement tomorrow
So you ran an RUU and it still didnt work? And you're sure the RUU SUCCESSFULLY ran without any parts of it failing right?
If that's true, there's no hope AFAIK. Try to get it not to show the bootanimation by bricking it further.

My only explanation is that while he removed the battery some of your hardware got borked. This can't possibly be a software issue.

BUMMER! In case the question comes up I ran "RUU_Shooter_S_Sprint_WWE_2.17.651.5_Radio_1.06.00.1216_NV_NV_spcs_1.42_release_233304_signed" and it ran just fine.
Hmm, hardware issue. Dont see how I can check for that if it doesnt boot.
Guess I'll just have to wait for the new Phone
try to fastboot oem lock it from fastboot. Then RUU, see if that works.
Why even get this one to work if you are getting a replacement?

HBOOT 1.5 and s-on is a *****!
Not to mention... But in Linux, I never got revo recovery to flash... You can do it in windows just do it via fastboot.
Took my Orig cwm bsckup "recovery" & "boot" .img and threw them @ the phone via command prompt.
After cwm was restored, I restored my 4\29\2012 backup that I made before I entered the Sprint store, now my phone is back to the exact same way
It was. Pretty Damn sweet!

So today as I was preparing to flash the latest AOKP rom at 90% battery, I accidentally hit reboot to bootloader instead of recovery. No problem, i hit reboot. The screen turned black and a minute later it was still black, so I removed the battery. Nothing turned it on, couldn't access the bootloader and the charging light wouldn't even go on.
That was odd, so i thought maybe it was just still in bootloader mode. I gained access to ADB and it doesn't see the device at all (yes i tried the method explained because of the CWM problem, I also do not have CWM and have had a battery die before and it was able to charge fine) I also tried fastboot and it just sits at "waiting for device"
I called up Verizon support figuring it was the battery and they said i could test it at a store. The rep didn't think it was the battery, but when he tested it said 3/3 times it was increment, so it was bad. Then when he tried a regular battery it didn't work either, so he said the phone was bad.
Now, i called support and they are sending me a new phone and i am going to exchange my extended battery for a good one tomorrow. The thing is the lady on the phone said that as long as there were no hardware defects or unauthorized software than there wouldn't be any charge but if there was then it would be a $200 charge added onto the bill. A $200 charge would be pretty bad.
I would never return my phone if i messed it up actually doing something to the phone but here it didn't... at least not in any way I can think of. I am worried about the charge though. I know they usually don't check them but I had the Juopunut bear h-boot and neo's ICS installed. I am not even sure if it's recoverable at all because from everything i tried it definitely wasn't.
Am i just being silly here?
If they can't even boot the phone, then there is no way that they can tell it was hacked.
Sounds like the only way they'll get the phone booting is to do the manufacturer RUU thing with their special tools, so I'd say you're in the clear.
I've sent a phone back that was S-OFF running CM9. If they check before they JTAG it, I've seen no evidence of it.
I had heard before many times that they never checked, but i was extremely surprised whenever she said that. I wanted to ask some of you guys your opinion as well. I doubt it's recoverable without a full sbf as well, so i should be fine. Thanks!

I had to send mine back for a screen hardware issue. I was still s- on with the bootloader saying relocked and I did not get hit with that charge. As stated before I have heard of people sending back their phones with different ROMs without issue. Good luck

I've returned multiple devices saying relocked in the bootloader. I think Verizon simply doesn't care to be honest.. Hell I've even gotten a replacement phone that was rooted and running custom software. Shows you how muc hattention they pay to the devices they recieve and send out. Hell I've gotten replacements with screen protectors still on them and big ass gashes/scratches on the screen. 100 point inspection my ass.
Same here; my first Rezound was S-OFF, bootloader unlocked when the USB port failed (the unit would charge but couldn't connect to PC). I just factory reset it and sent it back. The folks who refurbish the phones don't even turn 'em on, and if they did, they probably wouldn't know what they were looking at. The things are bulk reflashed, if the motherboards are even retained at all.
Verizon ran a special last night, LG G2 for free. I have been pining over this phone since getting one in my hands in the store, was just impressed. My Rezound has been the longest phone I've owned, but it's time is done. Late Nov 2011 until now.......an impressive stretch. But it's developed some issues recently that make me believe it's a goner. So the new white G2 is ordered and will be picked up tomorrow.
As for my rezound......if anyone is reading this......here's the issues it's developed, mainly after a particularly hard fall about two weeks ago. It was initially fine, but about 3-4 days later, it started boot looping out of nowhere. If I replace the battery it's hit or miss if it does it or not now. If it does, it could be 1-2 times, it could take over 10 minutes to get into the OS. Then in my car last week, I turned on Bluetooth (Chrysler Pacifica, has that Uconnect through the stereo) but it never fully turned on. Then two days ago the wifi quit picking up ANYTHING even though it says it's on. Now I notice the speaker (both headset and external) have gone very crackly.
I'm doubting it's software related, I think it's just been dropped one too many times. I'm going to try to reflash a stock kernel and factory ruu to set it back to stock (it's S-On, unlocked bootloader) and see how things work, but what are your guys opinion on whether or not that's worth my time?

As for the phone, what would you intend to do with it? They aren't worth much to sell, specially if it's damaged, if the screen is good, someone might take it off your hands for parts.

I don't know yet. I think I've still got my OG Droid hiding somewhere too.
I'm going to wipe it all and do a full factory ruu reflash and see if that doesn't help things out. I want to swap the outer bezel out because I closed my toolbox on it and ended up with a nice dent in the black chrome bezel. The LCD is fine, but I don't know about the digitizer considering the soft keys are really REALLY slow to respond anymore. I was thinking of rebuilding it for the fun and then I don't know. By rebuild I mean new circuit board because I think mine is the root of the issue. Won't know until after a factory reset, but the crackly speakers doesn't give me high hopes.
I really loved this phone. My biggest complaint was always the horrendous battery life. I have three batteries and could easily kill them all in a day with it. Guess I'm not done tinkering with it yet.
Hmmm.....looks like it may be getting sold for parts. It was bootlooping again tonight after I deactivated it and officially went full time to the G2. So I went into recovery (Amon Ra) and wiped everything, and did a recovery of a backup of Clean Rom that I'd done immediately after in install and setup back in July of 2012. And it's still boot looping. I get into the phone for just a few seconds, the SD card stuff tried to load, but neither Wifi or Bluetooth turn on. My guess is that the last couple of hard drops it took did the mainboard in. Good news is that I just pulled the Zagg InvisibleShield and the screen itself is freaking immaculate.
So I'm thinking one of two things. I could invest about $70 for a mainboard and a new outer bezel, see if that fixes it, and keep it as a spare phone. Or, just sell it as parts. I'm leaning towards a mainboard and bezel and just holding on to it, but I gotta say that I need to know if this is truly a mainboard issue or not.

I get into the phone for just a few seconds, the SD card stuff tried to load, but neither Wifi or Bluetooth turn on. if after a full clean flash or even full factory restore you still have issues id lean towards hardware issues myself...and i hear you on battery life...i too have 3 batteries and the phone will die by the end of the day with it....i sold my daily rez for a different android but i still have my developer rez...which has been lately used for just that
I also just retire the rebound for similar reasons. I went with the note 3. Just picked it up yesterday. I was going to get the moto x to keep unlimited but was able to keep it with the N3.
I liking it so far. Not reboots or freezes. I think that is what finally got me. For the last few months, I could not get the red to run smoothly on any roms dating back to bean stock and maybe before. Gummy had worked great but for blacks screens that also happen on kitkat. I'm still keeping the red for roms as I am not going to root the N3.

Yeah, the nandroid restore I did was, I think, CleanRom 1.4. But it was a totally clean install as I had installed it, set it up, and backed it up immediately. And it still just boots, gets into the UI, and about 30 seconds later reboots. I can't even get USB Debugging disabled so I can use Fastboot to relock the bootloader and flash an RUU.
I guess once my taxes come back in that I'll get a new logic board since ALL the modules seem to come with it (wifi, BT, etc) and get a new centerboard/outer bezel combo. Cost me about $70, but if I can get it up and running it'll be a nice backup phone. If anything, something to tinker with, lol.
Holy crap. I left it sit all night, and just turned it on and it booted! However, I try to turn Wifi on, and it just sits at "Turning Wi-Fi on......" so looks like wifi is definitely buggered. As it bluetooth.....same thing.
Just went into Settings and under Wi-Fi is says Error. Yep.....that's fubar.
It's SlimRom 1.6, just checked.
But the good news is that I now have USB Debugging enabled, so I can use Fastboot and relock and put a factory RUU on it. One last try, lol.
Fastbird, I had bought a used Rezound for my daughter over Christmas and when we tried it the wifi said the same thing as you stated, "turning on wifi". It would stay like that forever. I then went and put on ViperRez rom and then the wifi was fine. Not saying this will work for you as well but just a thought I had when I saw your problem. Good luck, hope it all works out for you.

you dont need to worry about usb debugging for an ruu....just boot to hboot and select fastboot and plug it in.....in my downgrade upgrade guide it will show all you need to do....the only thing you have to worry about with that is gaining s-off...an ruu wipes and reinstalls android completely...so any setting you set in rom will be wiped anyway....if wifi and all that still fails than it shows that the CleanRom is your issue....although downgrading and using the ruu.exe files require a locked bootloader and to be s-off
Also, the "turning WiFi on" issue, if it just stays like that, is usually an issue of a kernel/module mismatch... Remember when flashing a ROM or restoring a Nandroid when S-On you must flash the boot.img manually.

Now....I thought you had to be S-ON to run the RUU file? That crap-can's that idea then. I'm not S-Off. CleanRom isn't the issue. I ran a later version of it for 1.5 years, and the version I tried the restore from was 100% functional for me too. I don't think I'm going to bother flashing the phone as it sits because of the hardware issues. I'm just going to wait until I get a new logic board and then probably S-Off and play with flashing until I find something I like to sit on as a backup. The Screen is just too pretty for me to part with, lol.

all ruu.exe files and ota.zips require s-off for downgrading..... ie. say your on an older version like 3.14.605.12 you can be s-on and upgrade to higher if im not mistaken...going s-off and redoing the whole phone from first to finish on ruu and ota's would be your last chance for that board without having to spend cash....and no offense you can probably get a used perfectly working rezound alot cheaper than 70 as well...is there any chance you deleted the wrong system files....only factory ruu will it restore original files...some deletions can cause these issues as well
The getting stuck turning Wifi on started BEFORE I tried a restore.
Shouldn't be a kernel mismatch because I used the same kernel for the nandroid CleamRom 1.6 and the other version of CleanRom I was running (I believe 1.7).
Only wiped Data, Cache, and dalvik cache. Several times for each.
The phone is acting EXACTLY like it was prior to the nandroid restore which is why I'm so sure it's a hardware issue. And I do mean exactly. 85% of the time after rebooting it boot loops for a random amount of time. Once booted in it's fine, save for Wifi and Bluetooth not working.
I understand I could get a replacement phone for cheaper to slightly more than te $70, but that's not the point. I like to tinker. I learn by doing. Gives me something to do.
Ok, relocked and trying to upgrade to a higher RUU which by what I read is acceptable. I flashed one of the earliest ICS firmware's and rom's, and the last RUU I could find was about 3 months later so I'm hoping it's good.f
*Edit* RUU took, trying to boot, but it's boot looping like normal. I think it's safe to say hardware is jacked at this point. It's getting into the UI then dying again, just like before.

How were you able to keep unlimited? My contract is over with my Rezound and I want to purchase a Galaxy S4. The best Verizon would offer me to give up my unlimited data is 6gb of data for $30.

Verizon & HTC patched the current SunShine temproot with this update, however we have a downgrade path.
If you are on 1.85.605.9 you can downgrade to 1.85.605.8
If you need this RUU from @dottat - https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=529152257862670562
To flash the RUU, two methods exist. This should not wipe data, but always backup your data just in case. Again back up your data.
Method 1: (preferred)
Rename the file 2PS6IMG.zip (it is .zip, not .zip.zip, check to see if your os hides the file extension).
place the file on a sdcard, put sdcard into the follow and reboot to download mode using adb (adb reboot download) and follow on screen directions
Method 2:
Reboot the phone into download mode with "adb reboot download"
Use htc_fastboot (not the google version of fastboot) reboot the phone to RUU mode "htc_fastboot oem rebootRUU"
Then flash the zip
"htc_fastboot flash zip 2PS6IMG_PERFUME[email protected]60722.2_CNV_0.93_002_release_486126_signed_1.zip"
Thanks

Thanks man those files were what i needed. I also had something wrong either the name when flashing or the file was not in the right location. I added the .zip to the command and also moved the file into the fastboot folder not sure which one worked but i am currently "optimizing apps" and ill let you know what version it is when the phone finishes.
HA! you guys rock 1.85.605.8. Thanks to both of you sunshine passed when it used to fail. Thanks man for the help.
For some reason the advanced calling features no longer work every time I am on a call it drops to 1x
Edit:I swear I'm not a complete idiot but the advanced calling seems to work fine earlier today it was not working but I just checked in the exact same place and it is working now so I do not know exactly what was going on but it seems to be working now I'm going to S off when I get home. Thanks again for this downgrade
I currently need to send my HTC 10 in for repairs on the charging port/battery charging issues I'm having and I have a concern. I'm currently unlocked and S-OFF and if I RUU back to factory settings I will remain S-OFF regardless. When HTC gets my device they (I assume) will relock it and return it to S-ON status or shoot me a new/like new device. If they do return my device will I need to re purchase sunshine considering I sent my phone directly to u guys to have it S-OFF'd I'm just curious as to what my options will be. Thanks

Yep I've done everything I can think of to try to get my phone to start charging, got a new cord, used 5 different chargers, did the whole factory reset/RUU (that worked for about a day and I got it to charge to 84%, held down vol+ and - and power for 2 mins nothing is working

To the best of my ability with some cotton and alcohol
I also have lots of battery charging issues. Mine will not charge unless I reboot while plugged in. Tried multiple chargers, cables, Roms, full whipes, formatted data, stock rom, ruu, everything. Just when I get frustrated enough to do something if starts charging again.
Quick and yes maybe for sure "noobish" question.. Feb 17th VZW is disconnecting this line. (unlimited data plan) and my htc 10 is only 17% paid off. Obviously the first thing I did when I got this phone as well as my M8 was you sunshine. (unlocked/s-off) Now for noobish sake does this mean VZW cannot possibly anyway block my phone or IMEI or Blacklist so I would be unable to stick another carrier SIM card in and use my device with them? You know, bring your own device, byod? I never thought I'd be in this situation but I'm kind of freaking out so thanks for your understanding, thank you..

I put it in these words because when I add up to the HTC 10 nothing at all was ever mentioned about ganking my account and leaving me with an unpaid device that I could not use unless I surrender to them and use the limited g*y data plans. So I just figured if they wanted to be bullies it would be pretty sweet for me if they try to lock my phone or Blacklist it and they couldn't. Thanks again

They can't do that to your device, it would be illegal. You can bring it to any carrier also. Sticking to stock Verizon rom will get you a pop up saying sim is not from Verizon but everything should function.
You could really stick it to them and fully convert your phone to us unlocked after you switch and no more sim pop up and completely Verizon-less system/firmware, that's probably way to go anyways if switch carriers

Cool, thank you for the confirmation. Tomorrow I am speaking with Stephanie B. A supposed VZW executive. I only average to 241 gigabytes a month, I was never made aware of a 200 gigabyte cap so I'm going to see what I can do about keeping it open but I also have a second line that is also unlimited data which they don't care about at this time because it doesn't come close to 200 gigabytes a month so I think I might have some wiggle room but I don't know. I just wanted to express to her my main concern is the fact I was never made aware about what happened over 200 gigabyte cap and also we as their customers we're never given a questionnaire or survey as far as the 1% of their customers who have unlimited data goes what should happen to us as far as going over 200 gigabytes is concerned. I doubt anything will happen that's not going to already but I'll let you know if I get to keep my line. Thanks again

I just got mine back. Took to Verizon a complete brick. I've only had 4 months. Finally got the new one in mail
About to downgrade and use sunshine and yes it has to be paid for again. Geesh these 10's are much more fragile than my old m8 . First device I've ever bricked. Now I didn't have to pay anything for replacement to be sent. I know people personally there though
Good luck and happy flashing

Just wanted to say thanks for this. Got my replacement in the mail after a brick. Immediately before reading the latest ota blocked sunshine from working. I took ota and set up device. Searched & downloaded your linked file : renamed and moved to SD card. Here is where it got strange. Battery over 50% mind u. Ran first time failed near the end. Left device useless. Tried to run again after booting back to download mode. Failed again. Only to boot device into white HTC screen. Well after about an hour of trying to figure out a way out the hole I've dug again, because PC will not recognize phone like this. And I could not fastboot said file. Anyhow after about another hour I tried again. And finally the same thing loaded everything properly and finished without an error. So successfully downgraded firmware so I could run ☀ . Ran sunshine and am s-off,now.and all is well. Any understanding why it would fail twice then work. Same method.?
