It is not needed to disable web top. Apps have their 'saved state' if they are in the background. If you want to be safe just go to your home screen before disconnecting the cable. That's all . Oh, and if you're even more paranoid you could just switch to the task killer and swipe all the app cards away.

has anyone else found this screen and what to do with it, other than the obvious usb tabs. i having trouble with screen shot but if you tap the left bottom corner of the screen, the notifications window will come up, as you push in the usb cable to charge, this will expand and give you the standard usb notfication. if you press this notification, a settings screen will appear, evev after removal of usb cable.
hopefully screen shots will appear.
Wow I had no idea lol
Ok so if you install anycut you can make a direct link to the development settings so no need to play with a usb cable.
That token setting looks interesting but it just closes to home ill have to play with logcat later
anycut gives a lot of very interesting options... but though I made shortcuts I can't see them in any of my launchers. I have Launcher Pro, the Nook standard one and Zeam. No default... i rather like the options.
But some of the options given by Anycut are keyboard settings and CDMA/GPRS/Network settings.
Wow, has anyone tried that on a non-rooted nook?
That's the main difference to Anycut... of course we can get to these settings once we have rooted. But if this screen can be accessed via a standard nook, that hasn't been "nootered", we can just enable adb there. Whether adb then has root access (as with nooter) I don't know, but still it's a new and easier angle at getting access to the device.
I got it to show up this way:
(0. no USB connected)
1. press the left bottom corner ... this will show you the original android notification bar as popup
2. connect USB cable (to PC and device)
3. you usually can't do anything because of the USB-Mode popup, but since the notification bar has focus we can touch the icon that now appears there.
-> remove cable and you are on the screen shown in OP's post.

I just tried this on my un-rooted nook, and wasn't able to get the screen to appear.
The USB dialog he's referring to should only appear if you're rooted and ADB is enabled.
This potentially means, however, that the rest of the settings aren't actually removed from the nook, just hidden, and that there should be a way to access them somehow.
Ohhhh that would be nice..

Several options will be more functional if you harvest the "extra" apps installed on the nookcolor emulator that ships as part of the SDK.
Also, if you're curious about how to toggle this setting without the UI,
have a look at /data/property/persist.service.mount.umsauto
How do you actually get the card to mount in the future if you disable auto mounting of it?

Just curious to know if anyone else purchased/uses the "Multimedia Dock" for the Rezound (the official one from VZW/HTC).
If so, I have an issue with the dock mode where by if I put the phone in the dock, there is no way of exiting out of the dock mode App. It's kind of a pain in the arse for me because I usually have to remove the phone from the dock for a few seconds, choose the app I want to enter, then put the phone back in the Dock and use the "recent apps" from the drop down to go back into the previous app.
On my Thunderbolt and my wife's Inc2, the Dock Mode app has a big "X" in the lower-left of the screen to exit out of the Dock app. I was mainly interested in knowing if anyone else has the same issue, or if it's just my phone that has the issue. Thanks in advance!
I have the dock and have the same issue. I mostly use the dock to stream spotify to my home receiver so it's not that big of a deal to me. It would be nice to exit of it easily though. Also the default bluetooth connection in the dock mode is hit or miss.

You should be able to exit be pulling down the notification bar and exiting from there.
The same thing happens for me. One thing I noticed is that when I switched over to another launcher (ADW Ex), the dock mode doesn't launch automatically, which is a pain but does allow me to access other apps. So I guess pick your poison.

No, you can't it only shows an icon that says "press to return to dock mode."
At least I know it wasn't just my phone.
I do have another issue though. I was messing around with settings and disabled the auto start. Now, my phone won't launch Dock Mode at all and I don't see it listed in the app drawer. (It is under my Apps in the Settings but I can't do anything but uninstall). Anyone know how I can restore the Dock Mode?
I have also tried to locate the APK in Root Explorer, but it only asks if I want to install it. When I try, it fails to install.
EDIT: Nevermind, just remembered. You have to go into the Clock (via Weather/Clock widget) and then click Desk Clock, then press the Dock Mode Icon and you can change settings that way.

Yes, the Dock Mode appears to be a Sense related app/widget, so if you install a 3rd party launcher, it will kick you out of Dock Mode entirely.
Wow, I just did something... I took the phone out of the Dock. Then pressed the clock portion of my Clock/Weather widget, then hit Desk Clock, then pressed the Icon that shows the Dock Mode. Notice that the Dock Mode now shows the big X in the lower left!
That is the only way I can get it to appear though... seems as though it's an HTC glitch.
Is there any easy way to disable having to input my lock screen pattern for when I'm driving?
I use my phone for music but I never have it docked, so I don't want the screen permanently on. It's just dangerous to have to do my pattern unlock whilst I'm driving. I'm using InDrive app to control PowerAmp but I want to be able to go straight to that by just pressing the awake button on my S3.
So is there anything that will easily allow me to disable this but won't stop the screen going off? Ideally a widget I can place on my home screen.

Well.. I never came across a widget or app like that but there is an option in my rom to disable lock screen. I think there will be an option on your device as well. Just turn it on and off whenever you need.

Cheers. If I go through the menu settings then I can disable lockscreen. It's a bit of a pain to do this every time I get in and out of the car though.
I just assumed this would be a common problem for people using their phone to play music in the car. Seems like it might not be!

Well yeah.. But you got few ops. Disable and enable from settings (lockscreen settings on my phone), or you can make a playlist of your music which will save you from touching your device while driving. Or you can copy your music to a usb drive and plug it to your car's audio system.. Or the most complicated but the most useful thing you can do us try making an app or a script will do the job of enabling/disabling the lockscreen everytime you run it. Well.. Thats something for devs and can be really complicated.. But worth trying..
If you're rooted you can install the xposed framework and per app DPI module, then set specific apps to show over the lock screen such as poweramp so its fully use able while the phone is locked
I’m using Themer launcher (but the problem is the same in stock launcher) and run a street navigation app.
The phone is permanently connected to the car-charger via a magnetic cable.
Now if I stop the engine (=no power) the navigation app closes and the launcher restarts. Same happens, if I start the engine.
This is very annoying, as I manually have to start the navigation app again and also restart the routing.
There is a thread in the Sony forum for this: link
It states, that this is due to the dock mode changing when connecting/disconnecting the cable and can’t be prevented.
Anyone having the same issue and a workaround or solution?
Could it be solved by an Xposed module preventing the dock mode to change?

Use xposed module called MagnetOff, i had the same issue and it helped.
Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk 2
:good: Great, many thanks. Didn't find this in the Xposed Module overview.
Hi there, so basicly im using a s9+ with pie version and my problem is that i can't download big apps or spotify lists because every time i turn my screen off, it stops downloading or updating apps and stuff. What should i do ? I tried using another wi-fi connection and also clearing caches but no luck.I also couldn't see any settings about wi-fi sleep mode in pie version
Have you tried "Keep WiFi on During Sleep"?
Open up the WiFi menu from the drop down menu at the top of the screen.
Click the three vertical dots at the top right of the screen and select Advanced.
Click View More at the bottom of the screen. Then scroll the screen down to reveal more options.
Tap Keep WiFi on During Sleep and pick Always or While Charging from the three options.

They placed the WiFi power savings mode under developer options now.
Also check to see if Switch to Mobile Data is on under WiFi > Advanced menu. If it is try toggling it off and see if that helps. The Switch to Mobile Data feature has sometimes gotten a little quirky for me and switched my connection from WiFi to cellular when it thought the connection was bad... My connection was fine, but I disabled it since it hasn't always been 100% reliable for me.

Oh i found that option but its already switched off.Maybe my problem is something about play store because things that i can't download and install are usually big games that requires to download an additional file.

Only things I can suggest is to go to device maintenance and change the settings under battery management. You could try disabling any power management options there and see if that helps.
You could also try having your phone plugged in and charging when the games/apps are downloading the additional files.
Myself for games and apps that download additional files I just end up extending the time delay before the screen turns off or enabling the enabling the stay awake when charging (under developer tools). I revert the settings when I am done. In this case the game/app was the cause (not google play because google play was not responsible for downloading the additional files), so that is about the only way I found to make it work... Maybe this will help for you also?
