[Q] [PJ75IMG.zip Flashing] - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

my bootloader is not picking up my pj75img.zip files. any ideas?
I have root. i have s-off.

i go into bootloader, it scans, and picks up nothing.

Did you put it on the root of your external card?

yea, even put it on the internal too. to see if it would take but nothing.

Seems silly, but is the Syntax correct? Capitals and all? Dunno if that would cause an issue, but who knows lol

Not sure about the LTE but with some HTC phones the card needs to be formatted to fat32 in order for bootloader to recognize the zip. That may not be the problem here but I know it was a common issue with the EVO Shift.

its correct. not sure whats up with this thing. the OG EVO wasnt this hard to root.
Trying the ADB / Terminal method: right now.
that seem to work, i now have custom recovery team win installed.
(the whole not picking up the zip is still un sloved)

I'm sure the zip issues will effect me flashing any custom splash screen though.

I did this process yesterday and I had to re- download the zip and then it worked. I'm not sure if I had a bad download first.

LOL you cant flash a stock rom thru recovery. try this:
rename downloaded zip to PH85IMG (dont add .zip to the file name!) and put on external sd
relock your bootloader
power off after the phone reboots (make sure quick boot is not selected in settings)
hold down volume - and power at the same time
bootloader should find the zip automatically and reflash the stock rom

CWM Recovery discussion

I saw in NilsP's rom thread that people have been working on clockwork mod recovery to see and get it working. I read that with a file copy and an advanced setting you can get backups to work. The main problem being the infamous charging bug.
Here is what is posted in that thread.
punman said:
I wasn't aware of this but when you plug the phone in, it boots what looks like a mini-recovery kernel. I suspect something with this isn't supporting the battery charge. I am going to flash back to Amon Ra and see what the differences are.
Just select "backup to external SD card" in ROM Manager Settings. You might have to enable "advanced settings" to get the option.

OK here is where I am as memories come back.
If you select backup to external and set progress off it does not actually turn off progress unless you copy the hideprogress file from internal to external. The bad part is the backup hangs if you don't copy the file.
When you select install ROM from SD Card it shows what is on the internal card to select not the external.
I have not tried a restore yet but I remember if you do it from RM it deletes the boot (kernel) but can't restore it due to s-on. Gonna test that in a minute.
EDIT: Backup and restore worked fine after copying the hideprogress file
EDIT: Just had to select internal from the menu when selecting install ROM from SD Card in RM

Yep. I recovered my original GB after using an early CleanROM ICSE ROM. I think I used Scott's CleanFlash tool to flash back the correct kernel for GB.
All my recoveries have backed up flawlessly since, but I am currently only running stock rooted. Haven't tried recovering any ICS backups.

And since I bought ROM Manager while using my DInc I'd prefer to use CWM. It's a reasonable, personal choice and I've never let my batteries fully discharge, so never had charging issues.
And I don't avoid full discharge because I use CWM, I avoid full discharge because it's actually bad for the batteries.

That's not to say there's anything wrong with the N64. I still love it and play it with my friends almost every weekend. I didn't intentionally make it analogous with CWM and Amon Ra or anything: since I used to use CWM on the Incredible and now I'm using Amon Ra--but I just really love N64. I'd take it over the Wii any day.

LOL. Some get and some don't. It works the same as cwm just without issues. It's amazing and annoying to see people posting almost daily on charging issues yet they refuse to use amon ra because they are comfortable with cwm. I to was hesitant to use it at first but quickly felt like I was in a familiar place once installed. My Rezound has never seen cwm. I have seen the light and I am just thankful there are other options.

I think I mentioned earlier that I had no issues charging. But I am also not saying that Amon Ra is bad. Just that I have a preference and that I know how to handle/avoid the pitfalls.
Interestingly, there were many in the DInc threads who didn't like CWM or ROM Manager, but no one there made snarky comments about personal choice... (not talking about you, snowride)
I think any CWM thread will just devolve like a Sense thread will. At least in the Rezound forums.

Blank sd card after lazy panda?

Hey everyone. After I bricked my phone, I did the steps to unbrick it, and it worked out. I then got it s-off. but now it says that my sd card is blank! what should I do?

Hopefully u saved every thing you wanted off of there before u did the s-off thing. Only way I got to reuse the sd card was to reformat it using a pc.

i know that some peoples sdcard got erased.. dont know why but its happens to some people that run lazy panda s-off.. i got lucky mine ran great and sdcard was fine.. luckly
Lazypanda softbricked my phone and sdcard was unreadable. When I retried the panda using the same sdcard the data was restored.

I'm having same issue. I achieved S-off but now sdcard is unreadable. I would really want to restore it cause I have a lot of pics and stuff in there. I forgot to backup before doing the process. Any other suggestions or instructions??
Edit- I did try running the Panda again but all it says is that im already S-off so it doesnt do anything.
That sucks. I put a blank sd card in before hand, because the first page stated 'backup your card because all data could be lost'. Hopefully you did that. I had to reformat the card part way through, but then it all worked.

It is worth trying a tool like Recuva or if you really are serious about resurrecting your stuff, TestDisk. Both are free, both are for Windows.
Another good idea, for the future, is backup all your pictures to dropbox. We got 25 gb for free, might as well use it. The instant upload feature makes it easy.

Its really odd cuz on my pc it kept happening with several md5 checkers but when I downloaded it on my phone and ran an md5 checker it came up exactly so whatever lol and a bit off topic for this post, is there some way of dragging/pulling an app off my stock phone before I root it so I don't loose it and I have ES File Manager but yes no root as of now will have root and s-off today just don't want to loose 'Cyberon EN Voice'?
Try a different md5 checker, your phone and cmd on windows work fine or the aio may be a different build from the posted md5.

The files needed to run the exploit are placed on the sd card, so don't you have an sd card at all? It doesn't format your sd card like it says it will, that's just a heads up just in case it does, so far it's yet to be formatted for me.

This is q&a, so yeah, all questions are relevant here, no you don't need a secure kernel, you just need an unlocked bootloader, adb debugging and root.
A mere 256mb sdcard would be fine, but seriously, get yourself something decent, you can get an 8GB card for like 10 bucks or something, I have no clue what your currency is since you didn't mention it, but I'm using USD standard.

My Amaze likes to randomly forget that it has an /sdcard partition. I end up having to go into 4EXT and use the "Check Partition Alignment" under the Tools menu as well as a Filesystem check. Occasionally it'll corrupt the data of a few random applications too. I'm on the newest Android Revolution with FauxKernel.
