Hey all
Is there any difference between the White S3 and the Blue S3?
-Have any idea why do I need to add extra money (in my country at least) for the blue version?
Also - what about heat issues? Is it better in the white version?
Let me quote someone in this forum:
patmacca said:
Mine runs very warm when its been on data traffic for a while particularly near the bottom third of the phone. I had the blue s3 before this one (now have a white s3) that ran even warmer - I would say hot

Hi, what I can say price different because stock and demand.
About heating problem, that's normal for phone that have 4 core.

Weird.. Usually it's the white one who costs more.
I know there is a heating issue, I was just asking
if there's a difference in terms of heat between
the white and blue versions (see quote).
Thank you!
Actually in my country they have the same price and the White is more popular than the blue (mine is white)
and for the heating, It becomes warm when I play HD games and movies and sometimes with the WiFi due to the high consumption of the CPU. I think this is natural my friend.
Even with extended periods of playing movies and games my white sgs3 doesn't get that hot.... The blue sgs3 shouldn't either as they are basically the same with hardware, just the colour is different... Now if it was red I reckon people would be saying it goes faster.....
Got it guys.. Thanks
Its a toughy and you're gna slap yourself for this but...
One is White.. the other is blue?
Just for your info. I chose blue over white, because I found that when I was looking at a predominately white screen it did not look as white as the surround on the white phone. On the blue phone, however the white screen stood out beautifully.
Which ever colour you choose, I'm sure that you'll be pleased with your purchase.
Best of luck.

Will not be amused if this is available a week after I get the blue one.
come on guys, this is just a site that does 3d animations for phones. Did you really think that samsung would not have announced a black version?

Neither will I However I think the listing could well be a mistake colour-wise. When I was looking at pre-orders, there were a couple of places that had white or black listed as colour options, but later corrected to white or blue. I think the blue should be dark enough in real life to pass as nearly black anyway.

Looks like the blue version to me.
Looks blue to me too
looks like blues clues to me i dont know about black..you know that fruit company might sue again
Also they don't even list the blue, which is a bit strange.

According to Eldar Murtazin, later it will be available in black too.

Probably the crappy US Carrier versions.
Eldar Murtazin told me on twitter that the black version will be available for Christmas. Well, i want it so much, but i'm not going to wait :|
I have always had a black phone so ive decided this time it's gonan be different,i want the marble white SGS3 but the blue one looks really nice as well i just cant make up my mind.
Seems immeasurably stupid not to include a black version at launch. It harks back to the days of kids running around with bright red Nokia Xpress-on covers and potentially alienates a large portion of the market who want a sleek, back, professional looking phone - not a teenager's fashion accessory.
The inclusion of things like S-Voice are the kinds of things that look great in a shop but you end up never using in practice. For the same reason it boggles the mind why Samsung didn't give the option of a black version; part of the reason AMOLED screens look so impressive is the near seamless transition between black on-screen and a black bezel, made possible by AMOLED's superior contrast.
I had a very reaction when i saw the white and blue versions at the presentation. I hate white phones and thought the blue looked horribly cheap. Ive now seen a blue one in the flesh and its nothing like as bad as i feared. Its actually quite smart looking.
Many of the images of it make it look a lot lighter than it actually is. The front looks black in most lights an the pattern on the back is almost like metal.
I would still prefer a black phone though.
its the blue one!
Anyone noticed that S3 when used with a black wallpaper, its not totally black? Seems that the backlight is still on for blacks compared to S2 which is totally black.
S3 seems kinda grey with black...almost LCD like kinda black.
Do have a try in a dark room. I was surprised. Maybe you too
Will be interested to try this, that slightly greyish hue to blacks was one of the things I disliked about the Nexus screen.
....
I'll be happy with my screen...because it is beautiful and big.... sorry you guys need to find every reason to b*tch about an amazing phone ... I don't examine my phones screen while it shows complete white or black screens in the dark ... I use it and watch people marvel at it.

It's called being critical. There are a number of things I dislike about my One X. No phone is perfect and if we're not critical and express our dislikes, chances are HTC/Samsung may not fix them with software updates/newer models.
I'm more interested in the potential black clipping issues like on the Galaxy Note. That was unacceptable.

The true test is to turn off the lights and pull up your contact list. The background should be as black as night. If it is, then your wallpaper isn't really black -- find a better one.

just checking if anyone have the same experience.
Both my galaxy s and my s 2 never goes completely black if I watch them in complete darkness. Even when the phone is shutting down and doesn't display anything at all. And strangely enough they emit around the same brightness level. As the phones turn of completely, the hue disappears. Even black areas are being powered and I think it's by design. Or maybe slight component variations.

I think that black level is not that great in SGS3 when used in dark room. TBH SGS1 had better blacks.

Do the following and u will see the blotches or black ink drops.
I posted this on the sgs 3 in pakistan thread and one person confirmed the issue :
"Download Paint Pro its free and open a black background which covers whole the screen and then go in a dark room.... Can u tell me if there are any black blotches on screen example the screen will be in two tones of black or is it perfect black... this was an issue with two sgs2 which i had and also with galaxy nexus... The resaon its an issue because when u r browsing the web say late at night with screen filter enabled u can actually see the black blotches...."
Secondly the issue was only in sgs 2, note and galaxy nexus...have owned all these mobile.. its not really a big issue just was annoying sometimes... sgs 1 had no such issue

It's the blue one (which is i think nearly black really and what I am hoping when mine turns up! ) Lighting makes a huge difference as well as correct white balance and the screen you're using to look at things (unless properly calibrated). You can bet the advertising shots were lit in a way that really emphasised the blue. In the video you can clearly see a blue tint when he moves the phone around and it catches the light

Hy. Yesturday i went to see live note 7 blue coral. Samsung has choose very interesting combinations of colours that change acording to light and ungles. I was debating between blue or black and at the end black won just because of how crazy is the blue color. I din't have a chance to see a demo unit (available only on SEP16 where I live and I will have the phone on SEP2) but looking Youtube, reviews it look white blue or rich blue depending on the lighting. I like the rich blue but white blue with low light conditions was not for me, the trim also could be sliver or maybe even black with a little bit darker blue phone. So this time i say no to blue coral
It looks really good in real life but I am on doubt if it's not feminine especially with that golden border. If it has silver border I would say it's the best color even that Onyx Black is very sleek and beautiful - just not so special. So I am on doubt what color to choose but definitely not the silver one (I don't like shining silver phones at all)...
I like it but went with black

I found it underwhelming in real life when I played around with a demo unit. It looked far better on film in various Youtube videos.
The biggest reason to get it is because it says "look at my new phone" as there's no other phone (currently) on the market like it. Bit it's kind of like the massive demand for the gold iPhone when it first came out. Everyone wanted the color for the previous reason. Six months from now Blue Corral won't be special anymore and then it'll just be a blueish phone with pinkish trim. I use my phone for business and the only color that doesn't scream "look at me" was black.
Meh. I wasn't impressed. It looked a bit too feminine for my tastes, but if that's your thing then more power to you. I love that the metal rim on the onyx version is actually black now. It makes the phone look sleek and simple. Plus, I also use my phone for business so the black was the best (read: only) option. Not that I'm complaining, it's sexy af in black.
It's Dope ...
Usually have black devices. But got the bronze 10.1 tab on impulse: it still looks good. The iPhones that mimicked it have a pallid 9ct gold effect that doesn't look so good. So I'm going for the blue this time, reckoning that Sammy has got it right this time too. If it's too bright, it can be toned down with a black case, but I suspect the Note 7 will be classy enough to carry the colour...
I had mine outside in the direct sunlight today for the first time (got it last night) and the metal frame looks pink...I knew the blue was feminine-ish, but the pink tint on the frame DEFINITELY tops off the feminine look IMO.
Anyone wanna trade their black one for a blue one? LOL.

I first ordered titinium silver as I've always liked the color since the s7 came out but did not want the s7. My note 2, 3, 4 were all black (note 2 was really dark grey) so for sure I didn't want black. Just so I don't dismiss the blue completely, I still went to a Tmobile store to check out the blue. There was a lot of light in the store and made the blue look baby blue and I did not like it. So I told myself, blue was not for me and left. I went home and watched several more unpacked reviews and the ones showing the blue made the phone look really good depending on the lighting, and wasn't always baby blue. So after several more videos I watched of the blue, I decided to also order it. Figure if I have more time with it I'll have a better non rushed judgement on it.
Once I received both phones, I opened the blue first and fell in love with it right away. The blue inside my office is nice. I like how it switches to different hue's of blue. Now the rose gold trim does put me off a little but in my clear case it doesn't stand out as much. But it's not ugly either, just felt too feminine.
A day later I opened the titanium one. I still like the titanium, BUT compared to the blue, I now found it boring. To be fair, I gave it a few more days and played with both phones but blue being my daily. In most places I go, unless I'm outside, the blue stays pretty dark or at least not baby blue. Unless I'm in direct sunlight. Sometimes it looks bluish dark grey (which I love). I just love the different variation of blue it produces (besides baby blue obviously). The titanium does get slightly darker but it always looked bright silver in most scenarios and does reflect more light. So in the end, chose the blue.
So my thoughts....I think had I not had a chance to play with it for at least a few days in my own environment, I wouldn't have chosen it. If you are considering the blue don't judge it based on pictures, or seeing it for a few minutes, or even what others think of the color. Your best bet if you are undecided is to take it home and try it out for a few days yourself. That goes for any of the colors, not just blue.
