Help !!! Rooting and loading new rom issue

I am trying to root my phone and update it with the Modaco rom, but I seem to have a problem doing that as I have this Asian rom which does not have any marketplace nor does it have any file manager to access my SD card. I have downloaded the flash recovery file and the recovery image file on my SD card to start the rooting process but cannot access those files until I have a file manager on my phone.
Please, if anyone could give me an idea on how to do that, I will greatly appreciate that.
Thanks.
Look for android application installer .bat. It is slow but does the job. It is for pc and install your files from there.

There is a Guide in the Dev Thread. Named Bibble.
to answer your question root your phone, install superuser, install Busybox, Install Rom Manager. Install clockwork recovery withing Rom Manager. Then use the option to install rom from SD in Rom Manager. Hope this helps.

[Q] How do I make a CwM flashable .zip with edify scripting?

Hi all,
I need to make a CwM flashable .zip, but I don't know how. All I need to do is replace a few files in the /system/lib/ folder. Can anyone help me? I've been looking all over XDA and Google, but I just can't seem to find help for exactly the problem I have.
put whatever files you want on your phone and move them to wherever with root explorer ?? easier than making a zip to flash them instead

[Q] Roms in rar format and not zip

Very noob question but need help on it. My recovery cant find the roms i have download as they are in rar format and not zip. Anyone having the same issue? What to do? Please help. Thank u in advance
Well, you should go into your device specific forum and read the basics.
Tar format files are usually firmwares which require a pc and flash software to be installed.
Recovery always take .zip files.
Or… it could be that the tar files have a zip inside (double compressed).

(URGENT) How to flash RAR files with CWM?

Hi. I am a newbie in flashing phones. I am having a Lenovo A850. I was planning to flash it to Android Marshmallow (CynogenMod) . It was really hard to find the ROM. Somehow I managed to find one here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/le...rom-unofficial-cyanogenmod-13-lenovo-t3724018 . Once I downloaded it, I noticed that it is in RAR format. I tried entering CWM in my phone, and the RAR file doesn't show up. CWM probably does not support flashing RAR files.
What should I do now?

What you do for a quick fix is to open the .rar file on your computer using a software like winrar, or 7zip. Then compress it using the software as a .Zip file then you can flash it easy as that.
Doing this is changing the file format all correctly with correct conversions so it should be alright. But be aware that this is a quick fix which I use and have success with. Not sure if it would work for you But it should, if it doesn't don't hit me ~ QAQ
Note that this is possible as well on phones using file manager with inbuilt rar,win support
