SGS3 ! problems ! - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

first of all i have a battery problem with my s3 ((international)) my old S2 would last at least 22h+ on the same use . ffs im even using my S3 WAY LESS 38% now with 2h.2m on screen and 10h.7m on battery . and i lasted that muc only coz im using wifi . now i just found out about the cell standby bug and i got it fix but since the fix about 45min ago i lost 10%+ just reading emails i have the screen on 0% light for the pass 3days and it helped a bit but not as much as the S2 used to be :S one more thing many times when im in a program and i hit the main bottom the device just lags for 4-5sec to load the screen im guessing its TW problem here ? so is there any fix for that ?? im getting ((if im lucky)) 18h of battery life with VERY VERY LOW USE !!! QQ i miss my S2 .....

i found the fix for it !! and its much much better now !!

Try combine mik 6.5.7 rom and franco.kernel latest release (now it is 19.2).
OK, Im using the miks 6.6.1 + francos latest kernel,
added: JuiceDefender Ultimate and set some profiles on my SetCPU...
now runtime: 6 hours = 82% battery
ITS much more better now !
thx for the help guyz !
With AGA ROM 1.3.5 + franco kernel 16.08.2011, 12 hours of normal use (phone calls, wifi, no game) the batt is at 82%
LOL 1.4.2
I think LOL 1.4.2 (FroYo) is the most energy effective. It can work 5 full days (100% to 0%) with:
music - 7 hours,
WiFi (Market) - 4 hours,
eBook - 14 hours
calls - 40 min
USB connection (with charge) - only about 5 min.
But I use only GSM, not 3G.
Usually I used it about 3-4 days.

I think, he's referring to this
http://techforumindia.com/index.php?topic=4618.0
TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) limiting 100 SMS / day but the article mentions its getting into act only from Sep 27. So still not sure if this was the new rule he mentioned.
What kind of rule is that ?!!

[Q] Dead S3 POLL: Did your S3 Die without reason?

Since the thread for ultimate sudden death of S3 doesn't have a poll despite i requested op to put it. It's possible or not but we need to know how many of us have dead S3. I'm starting this poll in hopes to find out some numbers and ratio.
Suggestions are welcome on how to improve it..
Edit: Any idea how to edit this poll? i need to adjust it but there doesn't seem to be any option.

That's a good thread, it's like this that we're gonna get some more accurate ratio about the ones who suffered the sudden death on their galaxy s3's. for me everything is fine with mine but who knows ....

Hi
I think you need to remove the "Yes" and "no" options and add 16GB & 32GB "No" options to the 16GB & 32GB "yes"options as this is misleading

The pool could ask several questions:
1) Did you s3 suffered the sudden death
yes/No
2) Was it charging?
Yes/No
3) What type:
16/32
quad/...
...

Found my S3 dead this morning. Was working fine last night and had plenty of charge. It will not take charge, hard reboot, nor go into download mode. And trying another battery or usb charger didn't make any difference.
Just been on to Three who said to take it in for repair/replacement. So I will be doing that today...

No, you are using a vulnerable chip.

There are kernels that address a problem that is assumed to prevent sudden death. Right now that's all we have.

Critical you read the first two posts .
The temperature is actually pretty normal, don't worry about it.. it won't damage itself or anything, if at any point the temperature reaches a point where it could pose any damage the phone will power off automatically.
