Just moved from iPhone to Galaxy S3 ICS. The Email app has no place to change the font/text size and it is HUGE. Like so huge I can read the text 6 feet away, that is not an exageration. I need to shirink this by at least 50%, any tips?
same problem
Hi,
yes, I have the same problem. Changeing font size in the global settings menu does not affect the mail app (the account lists). My friend has a galaxy S2 (I think updated to ICS) and can change the font size from the settings in the mail app, but I don't see that option there on my S3. Please help.
You could try an alternative mail app in the market.

Hey guys,
im about 1 month into my s2 and loving it. using litening rom 4.2, and couple days ago i switched from TW to GO launcher. I now have an issue where in my messaging contacts menu - it is showing up doubles and triple listings under 'name - custom, name - mobile' I got rid of this before in TW launcher by going into gmail an changing the settings so it wouldnt automatically add contacts etc. but now with go launcher its made a comeback? anyone know how i fix this?
my normal contacts menu is fine with only single names displayed and ive checked all those boxes in settings to only show phone numbers etc. i dont know why its all of a sudden come back to this in go launcher. semi frustrating having to sift through
any help much appreciated

Hi guys,
I have this weird problem with my device. When I´m about to write SMS or e-mail or whatever I get this text field as shown in the picture.
I don´t know when or how it changed, but I want my old texting screen. Now I have no idea how many characters I have left in SMS etc.
I have official android 4.1.1, no root..I also tried some launchers, but it was still the same with touchwiz or go ex launcher or next launcher
Hey guys,
my mom bought a Nokia Lumia 800 a few hours ago and we only now found out that the sms text si too small and that there is no option of changing it. She doesn't have the best eyes...
Is there a way to increase the font size or is there an app that does the same as the native sms app but with a larger font? I saw Large Contacts and Big Phonebook but those don't work for text messages/SMSs.
Help?
I have exactly the same requirement and it is a shame nobody has been able to help. Is there no registry setting that can do this?
the app "big phonebook" works well for contacts and its free.
Found a rather annoying bug on the most recent EUI update. For Android devices, if you go into settings>display and change the system font size, it is supposed to change the font size in the settings menu, but it also is supposed to change the font sizes in other apps like gmail, chrome, amazon, etc. This does not work reliably. When I change the system font size to extra large and go into the gmail app for example, the font in gmail is WAY too small to read. If I leave the gmail app open and go back into settings and change the font size from extra large to large, and then back to extra large again, then go back into the gmail app and click on any email, the font size will magically be larger and readable. BUT, once I close the gmail app the font size setting reverts back to tiny. Every time I open gmail I have to go to display settings and toggle the font size to make the gmail font large enough to read. The same thing happens with chrome and amazon apps (as well as others I'm sure). I can duplicate this problem with other apps using the same method. When I do the toggle trick the font size increases temporarily, but as soon as I close the app and re-open it, the font size is lost and I have to do it all over again.
Using the Parasite S18+S19 modded ROM and not having this problem. When I change font to extra large, gmail font becomes large too. But personally, I find even the smallest font comfortably readable so I don't use the large font sizes. Guess that varies depending on one's eyesight.
Can anyone using 18S verify that they have the same problem? Considering doing a factory reset (I didn't after I updated) to see if that fixes the problem. I'd rather not if it's not going to work.
EDIT: Performed factory reset today and that did NOT fix the problem Seems to be a bug in the firmware. Annoying as **** because the font size on that quad hd screen is small as ****!
Hi there
Some days ago I have sadly changed my HTC One M9 Plus after 3 and half years of service, the last of a 10 years experience with HTC from the HD2...what a sad situation about the brand.
Anyway I have bought a Samsung S9 Plus which seems not bad at all but I have some questions about it:
1) I have seen that is it possible to change the resoution of the screen, currently I'm on 2220*1080 but I could go for 2960*1440, anyway some widget already have small text, I have tried the upper resolution and a lot of things (icons etc) doesn't seems define enough to support it. What do you suggest?
2) I miss some HTC hystorc widget like the weather flip-clock and the contact widget for making quick call, do you know if there is a chance to install them on the samsung?
3) Is that possible to change the disposition of the system lower key (home, back and multitasking) ?
4) Is that possible to wake up the phone from the always on with a double tap?
5) Is that possible to have a wallpaper for the home and a different wallpaper for the all apps menu?
Welcome over from HTC. I too was a fan of their products until the last 4 years.
1. Yes, Settings -> Display -> Screen Resolution -> Select WQHD+ although will use more battery.
2. Download Sense Flip or Flipv2 from marketplace.
3. Yes, Settings -> Display -> Navigation Bar on the bottom -> Select your preferred order.
4. Not entirely sure if it's possible.
5. Not entirely sure. I prefer using a different launcher like Nova Launcher and use it to mimic Google as much as possible.
Hi there!
Thanks you very much for your answears!
I have tried the 2 widget that emulates the HTC flip clock but I don't I guess it's not the same thing as the original, also the have a low resolution for this phone.
I have also searched a contact widget to add photo of favorites contacts for quick calls, I have found some but they all are too much small for the resolution of the S9+

Click to collapse
Use edge panel for favorite contacts with their photos, otherwise you have stock contacts widget which works just fine
Ok edge panel is nice otherwise the contact widget add too much small photo of your contact and also also you need to manually add one by one, you cannot have a table
