Rezound led blinking and won't turn on? - HTC Rezound

Rezound led blinking red and won't turn on. Battery just really low or what? Only does to one battery other one is fine
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk 2

yeah probably too low. Leave it plugged in to the wall and turned off with that battery for like 15-20 minutes and see if it'll work after a bit of charging.

Ok I left on for about 15 mins and blink got longer if that means anything. I'll plug in for hour when I get home

When my rezound was blinking red it was due to overheating...was running an early ics leak at the time...may want to pull the battery out and let it cool if it feels hot
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda app-developers app

Just put battery in and was cool. I've had that happen when running a Rom never when phone was off

I had this issue a few weeks ago and I everything I tried in recovery didn't help so I had to re-install the ics ruu.

its low battery. just leave it plugged in

(q) very slow battery charge

Hey guys I'm getting some really slow battery charge over here. I've had my phone plugged in the OEM ac charger for over 3h now and it went from 5% to 50% and the phone is getting hot also. I haven't touched it at all for those 3h and data is off so no internet. I don't get it. It's usually fairly quick maybe 1 to 100 for about 2h.
Edit: I'm running capcomalpha with fraux kernel and stock battery.
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using XDA
The following suggestion may be of no help in your case, but I've experienced something like this as well, mainly with CWM that doesn't support off-charging. The phone will look like its charging but is actually drawing just enough energy to keep the phone alive. Also, the charging light will turn off after 15 mins or so. One way to ensure that your phone is getting charged adequately is to check the screen; if you see an ultra-dim screenshot of CWM then you'll have to periodically remove the charger and reinsert it "restart" the charge. Then try to boot into android to complete the charge.
The phone is on I rebooted it and it jumped from 55% to 68%

buy a new battery and wall charger so you can charge the battery outside the phone.

You bumped a thread that was still on the first page after only 7 1/2 hours? Please don't do that again, not that I agree with bumping threads, but it is for when something needs brought back to the first page, not while it is on the first page.
do your have a case on? the trapped heat is cause the phone to slow down charging. it is a safety feature. off the case and flip over when charging. it should charge faster.
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using xda premium
The phone has no case and was on the table so i guess there was nothing to make it overheat. Sorry for the bad bump i guess i was just desperate.

What version of Recovery are you on and as you said your using faux kernel. Try to revert to stock recovery or stock kernel and see if there is a change or behavior of your phone. And try aand see if fastboot is check on your power under settings..
you said it was hot. maybe you have some app in background using cpu. hence power drain and overheating.
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using xda premium
Ok i swithed to stock kernel and its doing the same thing. I reflashed the rom and didnt install any apps to see if thats the case. I also noticed ita doing it only when the battery is low- 10% or less. Then the phone heats up and its barely charging. If its above 50% it charges fairly quckly and doesnt heat up. Ill see how stock kernel does tonight and report back.
Sent from my HTC_Amaze_4G using XDA
Ok 2 days with stock kernel then a new battery then a new charger... 3h chRging and not even 10% of charge... Im cluless

Incorrect Battery readings

Anyone else have this problem, where the phone will automatically shut off. When it does that, I enter bootloader, and it says battery is low, did a battery wipe in recovery, onto to see the battery, which was at 40%, now at 2%... Any reason why it's giving such a discrepancy....
Running Energy Rom with stock kernel.
Download "Battery Calibration" from market. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nema.batterycalibration
Charge your phone until it says 100% and the light turns green. Unplug your phone. Plug it back in until the light turns green again. Open this app and calibrate your battery.
Should fix the issue

funny thing, i tried that....
it likes to stick at 60% for like 7 hours, only to drop the ball and then show out of battery after it shuts down....
could always treat it like a laptop battery to calibrate it, Charge it fully, let it go dead and keep the battery dead for at least 6 hours. Charge it up and let it stay charged for several hours before unplugging it.
Or try and take the battery out, hold the power button for a few seconds, reinsert the battery and try again. These things sometimes help on laptops, figured it couldnt hurt here.
My solution is just keep it plugged in pretty much most of the time, and drain it weekly....
I regularly calibrate my battery weekly. Although, the recovery I use displays battery percentage and it's often different (more accurate) then what is displayed on my battery icon.

Phone acting weird then doesn't boot or charge

So I have a evo lte that has been unlocked. Flashed the custom viper rom... After 2 weeks, the phone started acting weird today. I booted into recovery to wipe dalvik and cache. Then the phone started going crazy. Rebooted a few times and now it's a brick. Can't turn on or charge. Tried hard reset and combination of buttons to boot into bootloader. Nothing works. Any idea?

read somewhere that putting the phone in the freezer would work.
i left the phone in the freezer for 5 mins and it turned on... But after 1-2 mins it should shut off again and not allow me to boot. any help?
how long have you left it on the charger? are you using the 1A HTC charger or a different one? when mine has shut off due to low battery and i've tried to charge it at someone else's house using an old micro-USB charger it would take HOURS before it would even show the light and allow it to be turned on. the light would occasionally blink but that was it. turns out the charger was a 180mA charger... you said you're overseas, maybe it's a power issue.
myself and a few other members have had this issue! i wasnt rooted but i had the issue of it not turning on or charging. i took it to the sprint store and they gave me a band new evo. =p

Shutting down with 10% battery left?

On ICS my phone would alert me of low battery at 14%, then at 9% and at 5% would go red and alert me again. Now, on JB it alerts me at 14% but just shuts off at 10%. Has happened to me three times now, so I've gotten to where I charge once it hits 11% (if I'm at home). But That's shortening my battery life some and if I'm out and about is an inconvenience. I'm 100% stock. Anyone else having this issue since the JB update and is there a way to fix it (without rooting my phone)?
Have u accepted the update that was juss pushed out?

I had the same issue pop up when I wiped EVERYTHING except external SD and flashed a sense 5 Rom....after it completely died at 9% and then I fully charged, and then booted it up, Is been fine....try the complete kill/full charge method....Prolly has something to do with the battstat.bin file not reading correctly as stated above, let us know.

Could be battery polling not correctly updating. Once in awhile I'll see 20%, reboot and it will say 8%. Battery may be damaged if the stats aren't correct.

I've had similar issues dating back to the original EVO. Found this page that fixed my problems then thanks Swagstr. I started having the same issues on the new Evo. This processes helped as well. If you're getting shutdowns/ reboots at 20% it'll take a while for this process to get "topped off". Once i do this, my phone will work until it's been at 1% for 10-15 minutes. Then the batter will show completely red with diagonal lines through it for a minute or two before shutting down.
http://www.pocketables.com/2010/08/how-to-calibrate-htc-evo-battery-and-possibly-double-your-battery-life.html
Here's a variation of these instructions:
Turn the EVO on and charge it until the LED indicator turns green.
Unplug it and turn it off.
Plug it back in and charge until the LED indicator turns green.
Unplug it and turn it on.
Once powered on completely, turn it off again.
Plug it back in and charge until the LED turns green.
Unplug it, turn it on, and use it normally.

Basically repeatedly do this until plugging it in when off turns the LED green almost immediately.

Battery Not Completely Charging

Has anyone had an issue charging their phone to 100%? My phone seems to get stuck at 99%.
I haven't noticed it but in the past with other devices, I could drain all the way down and charge up to full to fix.

Well it takes a while when at 99%, but don't touch it while it's on and wait for it to top off. It's probably trickle charging at 99%.

I read here somewhere that from 99% to 100% took about 20-30mins. It could be a firmware thing or they can be doing what Apple is doing so you don't overcharge it.

I've had my one for three days now and I've charged it twice, the first time it took about three hours to charge and Ya it took a long time for it to go from 99-100 percent the second time it seemed to go quicker...just what I've experienced.
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
Mine stops charging at 90%. Its weird.
Sent from my HTC One using xda premium
It charges and discharges to conserve the life on the battery. If the phone was kept on a 100% charge the whole time then that would decrease the life of your battery drastically.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
I wouldn't worry about it. It's better to keep it at less than 100%. If there was a manual settings threshold, I would keep them as start charging when below 70% and stop at 90%. This is my battery charge threshold setting on my Thinkpad X230T laptop.
