[Q] Flash Superuser to root 4.0.4 stock ICS ROM? - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Can I root my Androd 4.0.4 Stock sony ROM, by flashing superuser app??
I will use MESA v1.2 kernel...

Ok. So... no. No way.
No. But you can flash custom kernel such as rage or kamarush..
Then root it.

Hmmmm....the most easy way to root your phone (ICS) is to unlock bootloader and flash custom kernel....all custom kernel have pre-rooted and CWM....
if you want to go the harder way (refuse to unlock bootloader) then downgrade to GB, Root your phone then upgrade back to ICS....
some people use the easy way cause they can relock the bootloader if they WANT TO....
Yes they are . You can't root stock kernel . Or you can download boot extended stock kernel which is also pre rooted....

How to backup kernel?

Does cwm backup kernel also?

That's not the way to do it....
To flash a rooted kernel you have to be on that firmware first....
So first flash .54 fw and then flash the rooted kernel of .54....
Another way is to
1) flash .54 fw
2) flash .10 kernel
3) root using any method
4) flash .54 kernel

I am switching from b.54 to c.10 and back.. using previously made(with cwm) room.zip and it works, once i have tried to go from b.10 to b.54 using the same procedure and the same b.54 room.zip and it failed ..

You can not. For flashing any other kernel except stock you need unlocked bootloader.

If it works with stock kernel... In some cases custom roms work with custom kernels only, so to not brick your device be sure this rom works with stock kernel.
EDIT: after you have locked bl how will you install stock kernel with recovery?
