Theming - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

Hey guys I was just wondering theming on the ELTE is difficult or is it ICS that makes it difficult? Are there any programs that can assist one in theming? Thanks!
Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2

As far as sense4 theming, I think the tools need to be updated. I would say it should happen soon but I honestly don't know.. I hope so because themes are a big reason why I root.
The og evo had themes galore while the 3D didn't have much at all. I'm hoping this phone will be closer to the og evo, but it's not really looking like it yet. There are plenty of stock roms to choose from so the dev support is looking pretty good so far..

GSM Evo Themes

Does anyone know if there are a list of custom themes from the themes and apps forum that are compatible with the gsm roms
I would like to know that too, it sucks that there is so little development going on for the GSM version.
I can't agree with you more. Never been on such a quiet section before. It is so dead. I feel that it won't get much better as the phone seems to be just a little outdated already. Luckily the stock Rom is good enough for my personal usage. I still love this phone though. Just the features and the way it feels/built is simply awesome.

I think (hope) it might kick up a notch when the 3VO GSM is released in UK.
Same here the phone is so cool that all features kinda take my mind off of that stuff and helps me past dev. Time, just added Thor 3d to sd card awww ohhh nice

It's been out in the UK for sometime - I got it the day it was released.
I am hoping once the kernel is released people will start to take an interest..

OMG really? That makes me so sad, I was hoping it would pick up after an UK launch..
I don't understand what that means about the kernel? What difference does that make?
This phone is quite unknown (sadly)...there is little to no advertising for it. Everyone who saw my evo 3d said "wow, your phone is awesome! Which one is it? I've never seen it before!" If more people knew about it's existance, we would probably have more devs..
The bright side: because of it being unknown, It's a special device. Unlike the iPhone... Everybody knows and a lot of people have the iPhone. I like people asking me to see my phone, hold my phone, make pics with my phone, play a 3D game with it, and so on ;p.

True, that is good. However I still rather have more development, like cyanogenmod which is there for cmda now but not for gsm
As much as I love sense, I just like a standard AOSP look. Wanting to root it once those custom kernels come out and install another Rom. Want to block all those unnecessary ads with a custom host file as well. Removal of some bloatware would be a plus. I'm in no rush though as long as it comes. With our specs, the phone can last us another year

I don't mind too much. I'd rather wait until everything is more stable anyway. Perhaps I'm spoiled coming off a Captivate, but with that phone, if I screwed up, it was super easy to go back to stock, not to mention the thing practically rooted and unlocked itself. Ton of ROMs, Kernels, Radios, etc.
Since I'm not especially knowledgable about flashing, customer kernels, etc. I'd rather wait a while anyway until there's a lot of solid documentation. It's getting there, but I'd imagine once the custom Kernels come out is when the real fun begins.

What happened to energy?

I was a huge energy fan back in my TP2 days and was excited to see his wares coming to the evo3d. Then, his thread disappeared?
Any idea what happened?

I was a big fan too, cause he actually made that ish work. I did a quick search and I see he's in the Sensation and Sensation XL sections with some Sense 3.5 ROMs. His sig says cooking for Sensation, EVO 3D, EVO 4G and so on, but I'm not finding any threads for anything other than the Sensation devices when it comes to android. Then again I only did a quick search on XDA.
I talked to nrgz a few weeks ago and he said he was planning on an evo3D rom, but these things take time. I would say if you guys are interested PM him and ask if you can beta test. Maybe he'll fire something up?
Wooo! I'm so excited! Miss his winmo roms and themes! Dude makes amazing things happen.. but I'm wondering if he will wait for ICS to get in gear..

He was cooking something up for the evo3d a few months agn twitter he needed a tester I then replied to that messsage. He sent me a rom he was working on and I couldn't get it to boot.He said to me that's what he thought might happen and I haven't heard from him since lol...
I used NRG on my TP1 and was hoping to get back to it eventually.

[Q] best rom for Evo 3d?

I have had the 3vo for quite a few months now, and think that the time has come to finally root and flash some good stuff, but was wondering what would be the best rom to flash. I know that its better to try out a couple to see which one suits me best, but I would like to skip all the hassle of experimenting with many roms, and just go straight to the ones that others are using and are happy with. So what rom are you all using, and would you recommend that over the rest? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. I should have mentioned this before, but its cdma.
I don't know if your gsm or cdma but from the gsm side of things I have tried most. Leedroid is always the one I come back too. It's stable has loads of support and great tweaks thanks to Jan and daniels and also some good theme options. The best imo.

thanks for your input. Unfortunately, I own a cdma Evo 3D.
Fair play. From what I've seen ported miui or joelz ROM look awesome!

If youre looking for a great "Senceless/ASOP" rom.... MIUI
a great full featured closer to stock looking Sence 3.0 rom.....Wildshooter or CleanRom
a great tweaked and themed rom.....Warm 2.3 is the only way to go
or a great Sence 3.5 rom....JoelZ's Prime XL 3G
of course, there are more choices but these IMO are the best hands down and of course others will have different opinions
Fresh 4.0.6 is a great daily rom. Very close to stock with some extras but runs without issues and fully functioning.

I've tried a bunch and I really perfer Olympus Trinity XE... here is the link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1327237
It's got a lot of awesome stuff built in like beats audio and sony bravia hd..
I like mine with a blue zeus theme instead of the default red but if you follow the instructions to flash it, everything will work.. don't skip out on the instructions tho because everyone who skips the wiping the cash and data parts because they think they are too smart ends up having troubles later.
Thanks a lot for your input. This sure narrows down the list. I will try them out and see which I like best. From what I have seen MIUI looks awesome, but the camera isn't functional, which is something that really comes in handy this time of the year.

Evo 3d development sucks... yeah... right....

I was just thinking, after I browsed the forums.. of how pathetic some people have been..
"Oh the 3d sucks. The development sucks.... I'm going to get the SGS2 epic touch 4g..."
My cousin has it and honestly our dev section is way way better. Right now I'm using kushdeck's rom as a daily... they have a wip with no downloadable. I don't even know what works. Or how far they are...
This is the same as the skyrocket dev section.. but here its worse.
They are mostly stock with some themes... and the themes are just color changes...

Forgot to say thanks to all the great devs here have tried all of the roms... and I like the fact that I like a couple of them.
Really love ICS deck
Unlike my friend which basically wants to keep stock just because its not worth it...

Yeah I agree. I use both the evo 3d and ep4g. I like the evo 3d dev section so much stuff to choose from. Every week I use a different rom changing themes throughout the week. My friends think my phone is the coolest compared to their iphones
The only thing i hate is there is so many sense rom.

That's probably because we are in the awkward transition from GB to ICS. Everyone wants to wait for the big guys to get everything working.

Here's another problem. Complaints about Sense. If someone doesn't like Sense, why buy a phone that has it out of the box, and can't be removed without waiting for a developer to do it for you?
I'm a huge fan of Sense, and I look forward to getting 3.5, or 4.0, depending on what HTC brings to the table with the release of ICS.

I agree. If it was as easy to port Sense to a phone without it, then it is to get rid of it from a phone that already has it, there would be a lot of people using Sense on phones like the Galaxy series. It's amusing, really.

had a sgs2 for about 2 weeks... hated it. and from that experience i have decided i will never buy another samsung product again.
they will have an official ICS release from sammy in about 13 months. because that's how long it takes samsung to get off their ass with any kind of support. look at the epic and the gingerbread update. 6 months behind the evo 4G
HTC > samsung
I wouldn't mind a galaxy nexus. But I know I would get tired over it.. after a while. Then what will I flash? A gb colored ics?
With the evo 3d I can put sense on for a while..... but I'm keeping pics for a long time... live it
The sgs2s aren't bad but I hate that they made them 4.3 and kept the same resolution and aspect ratio... I hate how pixelated and how wide it looks. Do like the samoled especially the blacks. But its a hate love relationship because colors look good but they aren't correct. Compare the gray or stainless steel color the speed test app has on an sgs2 and the evo 3d... you'll see the colors, sharpness and aspect ratio..

[Q] So many good roms for the One X's... any way to port over to ours?

Is there an easy way to port over roms?
There are tons of AOSP and AOKP roms for the different One X devices out there, and yet our development has stalled. There are also quite a few decent sense roms that we havent had a look at yet.
Is there an easy way to port it over? I know they use different radios and all that jazz, but there should be a way to port over the OS and keep the rest of the stuff.
Im willing to take on the task of porting over if there was some tool or directions.
Anyone?
I'd love to see some of those ROMs ported .. try asking the guy who ported over the Pokemon ROM .. Charmeleon
Here is the link -- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1690531&highlight=pokemon
You likely would need to port from the one xl

It's in the works for aosp jb. We have at least 3 different roms going for it including Cm10 and miui

Yeah, so far I'm disappointed in the lack of development thus far. I know its only been about two months but I see other new phones with so many different options already. Mean ROM, is the only one that stands above the rest so far. If there were actually development going on, wouldn't the devs post some screen
Previews or something? Its way too quiet. I'll wait a few more months but might end up giving this to my wife if development doesn't start kicking off soon. Perhaps everyone jumped to the GS3

As stated in other threads, this forum is stilll pretty young. We just gotta be patient and the roms and ports will come. Or just find a one x rom you like and ask your favorite dev to port it. Theyre all pretty cool, chaances are they porbably would when time allows.

Thing is, these guys already do so much, and have their hand full with their own ROM's. Which is why id rather do it myself, if that was possible.
