Hey beloved G3 Community,
I wrote an app for changing the theme of your Galaxy 3 easily - this means without computer, cable, Root Explorer, ADB or Terminal Emulator.
Root + Busybox required!
How does it work?
- Put the framework of files of the desired theme to sdcard/Theme
- Check the parts which are included in the theme
- Hit Apply -> Phone will reboot and the theme is on your G3
In v1.0 the app does only support the framework files (framework-res.apk, twframework-res.apk and android.policy.jar).
Changlelog + Screenshot + App in second post.
As usual, no guarantee for bricks, melted phones or your device turning against huminaty.
And finally... Do not include this in any ROM without contacting me.
Hope you'll find it usable!
s3th.g3ck9 [GreenMods]
Changelog:
v1.1 (no ETA)
- Supporting boot animations
- Supporting themed system apps
- Backup and Restore current theme
v1.0 (Initial Release)
- Support of
* framwork-res.apk
* twframework-res.apk
* android.policy.jar

perhaps make it open source so we can help you improving it perhaps things like preview would be great so that you can create a folder structure like this:
SD Card
->ThemeChanger
->Theme Red
framework-res.apk
twframework.apk
screenshot.png
->Theme Blue
framework-res.apk
twframework.apk
screenshot.png
great stuff .. yeah it would be nice to have a preview first before applying the actual theme and also add a backup button so you can backup the stock theme in case you want to go back to the old stock theme.
im loving android more and more everyday .. iphone sux0rz

I think in the Erebos thread the porter was saying that some people got stuck with that theme in lestatious... So i think it's the problem of the theme. Maybe you'll try another?
Thanks s3th ill give it a go. Havin to flash a new rom gave me a good reason to try out some the new roms but gonna go back to lestatious i thinks irs the best fit for me will try with spectrum theme ;-)
Awesome App
thx, sir. May i ask with which theme you've used it so far? Or any suggestions for later versions?

I just fixed bluetooth. But a theme for JVQ will still work for Update 1. There are no theming changes between the two.
This looks great. Is there anything similar for RevolutionRom 2.7? Or alternatively is there anyway to get this installed despite the fact that I am on KI3?
Cheers,
Fitch
Unfortunately, no.

Work on my Play but can you add Statusbar Widget??
when pressing menu button, the letters are in white and therefore its impossible to read them... hope you can fix this
I have a small problem with the font. Anybody else experiencing this?
When I start an app (not one that has already loaded), The title is in Chinese for a split second, and then it goes back to normal when the app has loaded. No other bugs or glitches.
ive managed to change the menu back to stock(Black),hope its better!
Is this for GB or ICS?

Works with stock 2.3.4.
I noticed the lockscreen notifications were the same as the original, and when I went through the APK, i found that you didn't completely change the lockscreen notification images; the new ones were copies, therefore they didn't overwrite the original. You might want to fix that
Other than that, it looks great.

Then just extract it and use root explorer to put the framework-res.apk in system/ folder,change the permissions to rw-r--r-- and then move it to framework folder,for the SystemUI,do the same thing but move it to system/app.
Anyone know what dpi i have to set my Ace at to allow custom themes please as I cant apply any themes to the AKOP M6 ROM I flashed recently. Its a CM10 based theme

I made the theme and it works perfectly on another Samsung device.(I had to do something similar on my SGT2 7, set the dpi below 160 to apply the theme with RomTool box pro)
Thanks in advance :laugh:
I think it's 140 to apply HDPI themes. Then change it back to 160
