Hi. Touchscreen works perfectly, but it happens sometimes not responding or pressing automatically. When I lock and than unlock, touch works fine for a while.
I have rooted the phone and installed custom rom (X10S), but still the some problem. I tryed with Function Validation to test touch and it works great.
Is there a solution and what do you think, is software or hardware problem ?
well it could be something more simple then the touchscreen "not working"
as for it touching things you did not touch i get that from time to time when my hands or screen are wet,sweaty,greasy
for it not responding it could be that your phone just "freezes/hangs" from time to time.
best way to test this is going back to stock rom and testing it then .

I have a qeustion:
My HD2 with the software in my sig, sometimes wont respond when i try to unluck it, or sometimes i cant press the W on the onscreen keyboard, could it be that the place where the W is on the onscreen keyboard, is broken?
Or could it be something with the ROM/Radio?
It also happends that the screen doesnt function at all, also the sensor doesnt flip my screen, i have this witl almost all HD2 ROMS, just pick one WM or Android and it does this frequently.
But sometimes there is nothing wrong, i can easy unlock and also press the W again.
Any tips?

Ill be flashing stock SPL and ROM and return it to the store.
I think it is the screen it self, the little part where the W key is doesnt register touch anymore. (if someone says this could not happen for example, that would help, cause i dont kow if only a "part" of a touchscreen can be broken).
apparently is definitely hardware issue.
Sent in to HTC yesterday. waiting to hear back. conveinient tracking system, too bad inconveinient manufacture

i have a new problem with my htc legend its sometimes when i need to do something the touch screen give me a wrong selection and other times it not respond ,,, i do a restart for the phone and it back to work .. but i can't keep turn the phone off and re on it if somebody no how to fix this error its will be great and i keep the screen clean from everything i keep clean it but that is not help

It happens too with my old ROM (B0.4.8), but didn't find the origin of the problem.
Sometimes it happens with my new ROM (CM9 Beta4) but only when I charge it (when by USB), as soon as I disconnect the cable, the phone is functionnal...
yeah but its not a problem with the room because i didn't do anything for the Os on it .. it just start like this sometimes it respond other times no .. if it work you have to made a selection many time or restart the phone
I experience it too. As I remembered after installing HomICS Venus this problem occur. I do not know whether its ROM related or not. I tried to flash another ROM ex. BlaYO ROM and CRQ 1.3 but the problems still persist.
I had this problem too - sent it to HTC and they exchanged my Legend for a new one ----- as I heared it is a common problem and has to do with the grounding of the touchscreen -> that is why it works sometimes and sometimes it doesnt
Sorry to say that I too suffer from this problem. Also, the part of my screen, where the power widget on the notification bar is resting, is completely unresponsive. I need to use the trackball to hit those buttons. And also, sometimes the screen can just go bananas and go into spasmic movements on its own. In my frustration once I hit the screen really hard with my knuckles and that temporarily fixed the spasmic movements. But it still reoccurs. I assume I would need my warranty to replace my phone, but my warranty has already ran out.
I can also confirm that it has NOTHING to do with your ROM. It started for me when I was running CyanogenMod 7.1, but I still have the same problems on stock ROM, HomICS, Miui, basically any ROM.
I recently flashed CM 10.1 on my samsung infuse, it's working great except for one thing: The screen is not responding properly. Every now and then, I have to tap on my selection multiple times before it registers a touch, and I didn't have this problem before flashing the ROM. Is it a problem with the ROM, or is it my phone? I didn't have this problem before flashing it.
Hi guys i found strange today in my device that touch screen worked in reverse, ie: when i touched the right side of the screen left is working, and vice versa, whats going on in my device, help me out.
even after upadting to my stock firmware still touch works in reverse.. any solutions for this........

I have a Lenovo z2 plus whose bootloader I recently unlocked, installed twrp, installed viper os (android - 7.1.2) and rooted it. whenever I try to use my phone (since the last evening) , the touch works for about 2 seconds and then stops working(every time) . I was thinking it might be a software/rom issue but when I close the Screen and before opening I keep my thumb at the portion near the front camera/speaker part pressed and then open the phone, then the touch works fine till I remove my thumb from there. When I remove my thumb, then again the touch stops working. Then to make the touch work for more than 2 sec again , I need to shut the screen off and do the thumb thing again. Due to this I'm thinking this might be a hardware issue but it were a hardware issue, then why does the touch stop working exactly about after 2 seconds without the thumb thing and touch starts working every time I open the screen with the thumb thing again till the time I remove it . And due to that timing thing it seems like it might be a software issue. All the other buttons are working perfectly. I really don't want the factory reset the phone till it's really necessary due to all the data and stuff. Can anyone please tell me what the problem is and how to fix it.

Are you able to fix permanently? I tried to hold between speaker and front camera but not seeing that touch is working. Can you please share some pic pointing where exactly to touch? Also are you pressing hard or lightly? Please share how to do that?
Also later are you able to resolve the issue? Did you change digitizer etc. Did it worked normally? Please let me know.

Workaround
I tried one workaround indicated by someone else on another thread. Follow below steps
Press power button to put screen off
Hold phone in left hand and put left thumb on screen
Press power button to start screen
Touch with right hand fingers
It will work till left thumb is there on screen..
If touch is lost follow from step one
Atleast this helps alot instead of only 2-3secs stuff..

As said in above post, please follow workaround if you are getting issue still.
For my case after couple of days, it started working normally. Sometimes that issue comes again, but i use workaround to use the phone.
I have the same issue! Please provide where you found this solution and workaround. Did you have to change screen?
