I have a stock phone from an operator in israel, sim free but with an operator specific firmware, including their custom apps.
Could someone point out to a guide on how to install ICS from scratch?
I have no android experience at all.

Hi,
I have a LG P500, from Movistar - Telefonica Spain.
Firmware is v10b which is the last update it can receive through the official LG mobile update tool.
I've seen that there are ways to get other versions and flash them through KDZ updater. For example this last 2.2.2.
For example in another post it appears AVDZBK, which is vodafone.
However these versions belongs to companies different from mine (movistar).
Taking into account that my mobile is not unlocked, could I proceed anyway?
In that case, can I choose any of this FW or there are unlocked ones?
I'm afraid to download a firmware that is also locked but for a foreign company!!!
Thanks a lot...
Don't do it.
It is not adviced to update your phone to a firmware which may not be supported by your service provider... although rooting/custom recovery and using custom ROM fits the same category XD
But nah, there aren't that many new stuff to make you want to upgrade anyway, custom ROMs such as void are a lot better =)
Well the problem is he won't be able to root his phone to install custom recovery.
Hello, the thing is that I have a Motorola Atrix 4G from Claro, Nicaragua with Froyo. Claro doesn't have released the official GB update. So I was wondering, is there any other way to update to GB? The phone is locked, I just can used with Claro network, and I don't want to pay to unlock it. Will a custom rom totally lock the phone?
Thank you!
Generally It shoud not .
update
Hi there, i agree the update should not simlock your phone to a specific network again, i have a Desire Hd that was originally on the Orange uk network, i currently use the vodafone uk network and have a had at least 12 different custom roms each having completely wiped the phone before install. hope this helps.
Good afternoon everyone:
I'm from Latin America, and our region is marketed Huawei G600 U8950-51, which uses only one Sim Card.
Would it be possible that will enable access to Stock ROM, Mods for this device?
Thank you very much!
:good:
I have the Samsung Galaxy S II i9100M, which is the Bell Mobility (Canada) variant. Same hardware as the i9100 and capable of running roms for the international version; only difference is the crapload of bloatware Bell Mobility had installed on it.
Though a Canadian phone, the phone worked well using a T-Mobile SIM here in the US. After tinkering with Odin and a couple of ROMs I flashed the phone from a stock Gingerbread ROM to a leaked version of Samsung's 4.2 Jellybean ROM, made for the i9100, a couple months before the update on Kies was ready. Unfortunately, I sim-locked the phone, the cause I assume is a missing CSC file.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem? I have been told already by one phone unlocking company that to restore the CSC file I have to flash a new one. Will I have to flash a ROM with the proper CSC file then have someone unlock the device with a sim unlock code or can I just flash a CSC no sim-unlock needed? I NEED HELP PLEASE!!! I screwed up, and it's really annoying having a smartphone that works for everything but making phone calls or texting (the irony).
PICS I HOPE WILL HELP ARE ATTACHED
Hi all,
I need to reflash my stock ROM (HTC One M9). As usual, there are a number of ROMs available based on carrier. The phone was originally Rogers when bought, unlocked, then placed on the Virgin Mobile (Bell) network.
Should I flash the Rogers ROM or the Bell ROM?
