stock email app - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there any reason why the stock email app doesn't have the correction pointers when trying to insert text? If you compare the stock sms and gmail the pointers are there, it just appears to be the email app that doesn't have them.
I've tried using K-9 email but you have to press the Menu button everytime you want to send the email. Any good alternatives?

[Q] Email settings question

It seems every time I delete email from my inbox, I get an email notification that I have the same amount of new emails but there are no new messages in my inbox. The notification is that I have new emails in the deleted or trash. Any way to not get email notices about trash?
Thisis a known issue. You can try using K-9 from the market. I works much better than the stock email client.

[Q] multiple e-mail accounts

I have two e-mail addresses, both with comcast. I've added both to the atrix but can only seem to access one of them. The only way for me to switch in the e-mail app is to change the default mail client (which is really annoying). Does anyone know how to select the e-mail accounts without having to change the default, exit the app and come back in?
Thanks
For some reason Motorola decided to be special, what you need to do is actually click on the messaging app. There you will see both your accounts and can fully access them. The email app will only give you the email account that you set as default. Hope it helps. Cheers.

you can also create a shortcut by selecting activities and scroll to universal inbox and select universal inbox.

How do you save email attachments?

I've done a search and couldnt find anything, so forgive if this is a repost.
I can't seem to figure out how to save an email attachment to the SD card. I am getting KML emails from geocaching.com and when i click on the file, i get the "unable to open the file" error, which is fine. I just want to save it to a folder i made on the SD card for my geocaching program.
I don't use stock email. I use k9 mail. Are you pressing and holding on attachment until a menu pops up? If the stock mail isn't working I suggest k9 mail from the market.

Same here.
I used to use K9 also, but I find it completely unnecessary in the Rezound and get faster mail updates with the stock email on push.
Is k9 really that good? Seems like everyone uses it now, I personally like the stock mail app from HTC.

I use the paid version kaiten. Mail and it does work very well, best email app I've used yet.
Does stock email have access to folders? I need to be able to acres them which kaiten mail does.

As an email administrator, I need access to a number of email systems. I use Touchdown for exchange email access, gmail for my primary gmail account and k9 for a variety of other pop and imap accounts, including a few gmail accounts since the gmail app is so poor at handling notification email.
In the past the default email apps have not been consistent enough. I have not even tried the default email app on the Rezound yet as I just moved my profiles over from my Dinc when I got it with the email tools I have been already using for years.
K9 works well with a lot of email systems and has the ability to use multiple identities for combined inbound email accounts so you don't have to setup multiple mailboxes.

new user questions

Hey everyone,
I'm a new Samsung/S3 user and had a couple of hopefully easy questions for u guys. When looking at my text messages, is there a way to mark all of the unread messages as read or reset the number of unread text messages?
Also, when using the stock calendar for events, if i hit reply from a calendar event , the stock email program appears. I only using Gmail calendars and email program, is there a way to have gmail be my default email program so when i am opening links my gmail will open up instead of the default email program.
Thanks
bump....anyone has an idea?

Using stock email app issue

I started using the stock email app that came with this phone as a bit of a change from the Gmail email app.
I don't sync my data automatically but instead use an app called Synker from the Play Store which only grabs my email when I hit the widget on my homescreen.
Anyways, Synker does not grab my mail using the stock email. I can only get my mail if I physically go into email and synch.
Anyone help?
