Singapore Users Come in! - Motorola Droid RAZR

I'm on M1, I got the notification telling me about the ics Upgrade,
i was rooted and i went back to stock just in case,
Has anyone else Gotten it or am i left out :crying:
And Just to double check how would i download the Ota, And how would it appear on my phone, First time downloading an OTA

You can go to here
Settings > About Phone > System Updates
from here you can download OTA
is pretty much lengthy, though make sure you dl it thru Wi-Fi ~~

Just choose download and then later on, update. Or update later.. And copy out the downloaded file from \cache and then update.
Btw, Malaysian here on Celcom.

Not everyone in Singapore has received the update, don't worry you're not left out our anything, as long as you're stock when the update comes you should be fine, i'm on M1 PSH and I haven't gotten the update too

Both my wife n mine got the notification but till date nothing on the update. All our set from SH.
Sent from my XT910

Make sure you have everything STOCK. If you do anything other than root you'll have a bad time (bootstrap, safestrap). Run Razr ultility, It has an option prepare for ICS.

Alright guys they said a week, so on monday we got the notification, so the first one to get it post here aight

I am in U.S. with Singapore phone still nothing.

My unbranded razr sold in Singapore, got my stock pshasiaretail rom installed the ota from Malaysia already.

If we install the rom, will we still get the Official OTA?

for those PSHAsiaRetail user who can no longer wait (like me), you can use the link below to manually upgrade to ICS. It's using stock PSHAsiaRetail, so you will still get official OTA in the future.

try this link to manually update

ICS update for South African RAZR owners

Howzit all
If there are any South African RAZR owners waiting for ICS or have received the update, please post here and let us all know what the user experience is like, and if at all possible, post the update on here
Thanks!
Nice to see another south african razr user on this forum. Im still waiting aswell. I have a ME Retail version, so i think we'll get the update when the Middle East gets theirs
What I'm keen to see is if we get an untampered version and not something loaded down like the Droid RAZR's are in the USA thanks to Verizon insisting on loading bloatware.
Also hoping that one of the reasons we're waiting longer is because they're stabilising it a bit more
mybroadband
hey guys,
im excited too. Cannot wait. A buddy of mine did a manual OTA update though. He is having issues with his USB not detected on his pc or any other pc, that is one of the reasons I waited
I have played around with his and it looks much better than the HTC sensation ICS update as far as I can tell, that is look and feel and some added extras
Razr sa ics update
Hi there.
Love my Moto RAZR!!!
I downloaded an unofficial ROM and installed it. It was really nice but it did support sdcard, so I could also not take pics, cause it saves it to your sdcard.... Then tried to go back and bricked my phone... Finally I manage to unbrick it after a days work.
But, yes... It is going to be great and can't wait for the ota release in SA!!!!
Cheers
Congrats bra

Hi
I reinstalled the original fastboot ROM. He will need to tl dowload it, its about 1gig and install rsdlite and Android SDK Tools on a PC or laptop with the correct drivers for his phone. His phone must be fully charged.
ROM = spyderird_u.01.26.0_spd-ird-21_sign_Asia_retail_hktw.xml
Usb debugging must be on and developers tool on, then restart his phone pressing power butten and vol up and down holing it till in recovery, then select the second option dafastboot. He must update Android sdk tools first. open RSD Lite and open the zip file (ROM) takes 15min then connect his phone and click start. Go and drink some tee and in 15-20min his phone will be as when it was when he took it out of the box the first time. Done....
Its the original so every thing works. If he needs help he can call me.
I JUST GOT MY ics OTA!!! Bussy downloading now, so will let you guys know what happened asap.
Thanks For reply

Hey,
Thanks for your quick response. I sent him this thread link as well to read your response. Im excited for you with the OTA update. Im currently still on 2.3.6 gingerbread but no OTA for me yet.
Also my friend wants to know on which rom were you when you checked for the OTA update? Is this a manual update or via WIFI? Thanks.
RSD Lite

shot buddy. my friend rhodesa and I both are with 8ta as a carrier, checked for updates manually, none for us and we never received notification so we have to wait.
with regards to your update, did you go back to gingerbread for your to receive that update notification or were you on SPYDERIRD_U.01.26.0_SPD-IRD-21_SIGN_ASIA_RETAIL_HKTW.xml
@u1fourie
Was the unofficial rom that you installed ICS? Because i did the same thing, installed unofficial ICS rom, had problems with the phone connecting to pc's so i tied to go back to gingerbread and bricked it.I eventually unbricked it but now the usb issue is still present.Im currently using 676.226.3.XT910.Retail.en.EU.
Yes the unofficial was ics. Then I went back to gingerbread, maybe I received the update because I use the gingerbread spiderird with Asia signarure, but its still original 2.3.6 gingerbread

sweet...so when you loaded gingerbread, did your sdcard feature work again
i used rsd first yes, but then it failed so i tried again but using EternityProject Fla**** for Windows then it failed again. But maybe the reason it failed was because i used the wrong stock rom which was not for my device
I tried to go back to (SPDREM_U_01.6.5.1-167_SPU-15-M2-3_SIGNEuropeAustraliaEMEA_USASPDRRTGB_HWp2b_Service1FF_fastboot.xml.zip)
Yes . Everything worked 100%.
thanx will try
@ rhodesa
I think rsd lite should install even if it is not the correct ROM. Just make sure your driver are up to date, your phone is fully charge, not using power from your USB, start phone in AP fastboot and that you have Android SDK Tools installed and updated

If you go to "about phone", you can find the cyanomedmod version...search in the forum for an updated version and follow the guide to update it.
Could be fixed you know and the CM9 is a good OS.
If all else fails then flash back to stock

But these are all ICS Files!
I'm not sure about your Phones Region (Asia / EU / Latam)
You only can flash the right one for your Phones Region!!!!
Sent from my CustomiZed XT910
the region does not really matter. its mostly if the phone is from CDMA or GSM based stock. the region more or less implies the update path/carrier options preloaded on the phone.
correct me if im wrong =_= haven't had my coffee for the day
The Region does matter. If you wanna flash an Latam Rom on an EU RazR, you have to delete your CID (mmmcblk1p18) or you will get an cdt.bin failure. And it's not that easy to get your CID back, when you got no backup of YOUR's.
Only the Asia & EU Fastbootfiles can be changed without that.

Use Odin to flash the stock ROM image... It should restore stock recovery and everything
Dont worry, its not jb.
The only thing this update does is gives us keytones in the dialer again as far as i can see definitively.
It also reinstalls 11 bloat apps, att barcode scanner, facebook, and att family are 3 that i recall.
These all can be uninstalled easily by going to the playstore and conveniently, the 11 apps all need to be updated, or, if you prefer, do what i did and just unistall them.
Another app called Movies gets reinstalled, you can just uninstall it as well.
Two other possible changes that i cannot confirm because they might just be me, i havent benchmarked these...
The screen appears to be a tad darker when autobrightness is enabled.
The phone also appears to be slightly less sluggsih.
---------- Post added at 02:57 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:18 AM ----------
Two more small things my ram usage has decreased by about 50 mb on a fresh boot and it looks like there might be a small battery life improvement...
This update from AT&T increases the Baseband Version to: I717UCMB4
It also increases the Build Number to: IMM76D.UCMB4
No change in Android Version or Kernel Version.
Though not Jelly Bean an update to the Baseband Version is always welcome.
I seem to have a better LTE connection since the update, usually at my home LTE is weak and intermittent, I usually switch back and forth between 4G and LTE and this morning I am solidly on LTE.
Can someone post the full updated ROM here so I can flash it via Odin or cwm? Thanks in advance.

I was able to restore to stock UCLF6 using this method;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1731654
It will wipe your data and internal SD, but put you back to stock UCLF6. Now I just need to wait for the update. When I check is says I'm up to date.
Same here.... it says I'm up to date..which is obviously not the case.
An update .zip would be nice, to get around all the failed update attempts...
Those who have managed to get the update loaded, are reporting a much improved LTE connection using the new baseband, and I have no doubt that the update contains new APN's and RIL's to go with the new baseband image....g

Is it safe to assume that the OTA would fail if I'm S-Off with TWRP installed? I just S-off'd & rooted last night. Still running the stock ROM. Haven't made any other modifications other than uninstall a few preloaded apps.

I'm not rooted on this phone and unsure of how to extract the OTA without root access. If you know of a way, let me know and I'd be happy to do it. In the meantime, here's a couple of screenshots of the updated baseband and firmware versions.

IF youve already updated, the ota usually gets deleted after/during the reboot....if you postpone and reboot itll be either in the root of your storage or in downloads...

Get OTA update without ever activating?

Picked up a Sprint Prepaid Moto E (XT1526) from Best Buy for $30 to use as a media/wifi only device. Device currently has 5.0.2 but it's my understanding the 5.1.1 update is out for the sprint model. However, whenever I check for a system update, I get "Check for update was not available at this time. Try again later". I also tried updating using Motorola Device Manager on my PC and but it said no update and told me my current version was "N/A".
Could this be due to the fact I've never activated service on the device? Otherwise does anyone know how I can get the OTA?
EDIT: Got the OTA. No activation needed - must have been issues on Moto's end.
