FJ Tools, not downloading launchers, S-Voice... - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

I am running FlappJaxxx' AOSPxXx-v0.6a
When I go into Tools and try to install any of the launchers, Netflix mod or S-Voice, it always responds with "Failed to download / install ... "
Tools can download and install the ad-blocking host file.
I cannot put this in the development thread due to my post count, and I haven't seen any other poster with the same issue so I can only assume that there is something amiss on my end.
Has anybody else encountered this, and have you fixed it?

reflash the rom
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium

The flashing of the ROM is not the problem, this issue has occurred on every FJ ROM that I tried to download launchers from, whether I try to download them before installing anything else, or later on it the life of the ROM.

Did you try and see if you had the latest update of FJ Tools?

I did,
At the time of writing 'Check for updates' reports v5.5 installed, but didn't return anything for Latest Version Available
I have also tried via WiFi and Mobile Data, so the issue doesn't appear to be with Comcast / My Wireless Network setup or AT&T.

Terminal Session to see if you can get FJ Tools to work
In FJ's original post he does show you how to get to a terminal session to fix this... or something like this...
either way do the following.... do not type anything other than what's after the dash -and hit enter after you type the commands
1. Start a terminal session
2. at the prompt type - su
3. note: This means you are superuser...
4. at the prompt type - fjtool upfjtools
5. go back to the tools section and check version and then if not updated update
If it works... hit my thanks button.
Good luck

I hit your thanks button, because I believe that fix does indeed work...
Thank you....g

I think that the issue is due to my not yet having any external storage.

[Q] Help with Hybrid ROM

Hello all, I'm pretty new to all of this. I only recently rooted/flashed a ROM for the first time, and I'm just kind of learning as I go. I really want to flash Eugene's Hybrid r3 ROM now that the mms issue is fixed, but I don't know how to apply the lag fix. What I'm really asking is if anyone has any instrustions or a link to information for a true beginner on how to access adb shell and apply the fix. I've got an entire evening of free time on my hands, and I decided it'd be a good day to learn this =]
Google droid explorer on your comp... It will set up adb for you... An easy guide can be found by googling "adb for dummies"
This entrails a lot of reading but the rewards are tremendous.. Good luck
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
alright, I'll get to it! thanks!
first startes you will need the drivers here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=728929
and the android SDK here:
http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html
PM me if you need help
Try YouTube & Google theso are two places I learned mostly everything. That's my recommendation... If u don't find the answer here.
You could also do it via a terminal app on your phone... I would kind of suck using the touchscreen to input the data but its do able.
if you want to try it via terminal do this.
- DL "terminal emulator" from market

}
- open app and grant SU access
- input the lagfix info but leave out the first line "adb shell" of each step and start with "su"
One thing to note about droid explorer. Its a great tool and will setup adb for you, just make sure you have busybox installed on your phone. To ensure you have the latest busybox DL the "busybox" app from the market
Alright, thanks Sykes! I'll give it a shot!
I just wanted to say thanks again to you all. Sykes, I used the terminal app you described and it worked great! It took me a couple of tries, mainly because I'm very very new to all of the command prompt stuff, and hacking in general. But now the Hybrid R3 is running extremely fast and smooth. My past few benchmarks on quadrant have all been 2100+!!

27 toggles using terminal app

MUST HAVE ROOT!
Found this while scouring the threads on XDA but can't find the post. So if you know who did let me know and will add credits to them. At any rate I have modified it to add the flashlight as well. Remember that I am not responsible for your decisions or your phone. Always make a backup. Enjoy.
HOW TO:
First you'll need terminal emulator app from play store. Don't expect a link to it you can get it yourself ya lazy bum.
You'll also need sqlite3, which i will give you since I called you a lazy bum. We good now?
Flash in recovery: edit: download from here and give thanks: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2226373
Select your appropriate sqlite for your binary.(kitkat)
Now open the terminal app and type su
Approve the root request when prompted.
Now, copy and paste this in terminal app. First one then the other.:
First this:
sqlite3 /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db "insert into \"system\" values(null,'notification_panel_active_app_list','Wifi;MobileData;Location;Flashlight;SilentMode;AutoRotate;Bluetooth;Ebook;DormantMode;WiFiHotspot;Brightness;PowerSaving;AllShareCast;MultiWindow;SBeam;Nfc;AirView;AirGesture;SmartNetwork;ToddlerMode;PersonalMode;DrivingMode;SmartStay;SmartScroll;SmartPause;Sync;AirplaneMode;DoNotDisturb;');"
Then this:
sqlite3 /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db "insert into \"system\" values(null,'notification_panel_active_app_list_for_reset','Wifi;MobileData;Location;Flashlight;SilentMode;AutoRotate;Bluetooth;Ebook;DormantMode;WiFiHotspot;Brightness;PowerSaving;AllShareCast;MultiWindow;SBeam;Nfc;AirView;AirGesture;SmartNetwork;ToddlerMode;PersonalMode;DrivingMode;SmartStay;SmartScroll;SmartPause;Sync;AirplaneMode;DoNotDisturb;');"
Reboot and see what happens. You can change the order of them and it'll put them in that order. Don't expect them to look like mine. It will look like whatever theme you're using. Depends on your systemui.apk.

I havent tried your method, though I have tried the others before. I can never get smartnetwork or personalpage to work. I can get the toggles, but as far as I can tell, they dont work with our phone.

Personal page not working yet. Smart network works on sacs v4. At least it'll go thru the motions. I have the s5 port so I'll mess with personal later. I've set it up before with nova so I know it'll work somehow.
Ah, okay. I thought you were talking about stock Note 3. Yea, S5 port should have it all working as there is personal page on the S5
I'm trying to port it over to work on ours. May never work but you'll have the toggle. Lol. Noone else had to know it doesn't work.

[Guide]How to enable Multi-User mode in CM 11

This guide can also be used on any rom running 4.2.2+.
Requirements
→Rooted device
→Xposed framework
→A Brain?
This method may not work on stock because stock roms doesn't supports but still you can try it.
There are two different methods of doing this.
METHOD 1:-
JUST download multi-user app from xposed repository and reboot. You will get a option of User under apps.
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Now just tap on it and add or manage users.
METHOD 2:-
In a terminal window or ADB, you’ll need to obtain SuperUser/root access. This is generally done by typing in su. After obtaining SuperUser access, type in:
pm get-max-users
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
This should return the numeric result of “1,” which is the maximum number that the current OS is set up accept. If it returns an error, then your ROM is most likely unable to handle multiple users.
Next, you’ll need to change that number to something higher. In the following, I chose to set it to eight users because I felt like it.
Now type in:
setprop fw.max_users 8
pm create-user usernameyouwanthere
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
You may notice the shell reboot, and if you’re on a ROM build that supports multiple users properly, you’ll either get a login request, or a users section will appear under device in system settings. Depending on your ROM, you might even see an option in the developer’s menu to enable user selection in the power menu.
Keep in mind that this may not work completely or be supported by your ROM, but in some instances it’s quite useful. The worst that should happen is that you have to restore a nandroid, or that the max_users changes back to single-user after a reboot.
★How to make it stick
Inspired by a comment from konnor below, this is how I got the multiple user mode to stick:
Code:
adb shell (if you’re not already, you can use terminal emulator if you want)
su
mount -o rw,remount /system
echo fw.max_users=4 >> build.prop
exit
exit
adb reboot (or reboot the device however you want)
From now on out the max_users will always be there when you boot.
After a reboot, swiping down and pressing my face brings me to the lock screen where all users are displayed. Your results may vary so make sure to have a nandroid backup.
Not my work just posting it in XDA.

No Wifi No Data on AOSP roms READ THIS BEFORE POSTING!!!

You need three things besides your phone:
You lost data/wifi when flashing a CM UPDATE, this is your fault for not reading the threads, The FIX IS BELOW, in simple, plain english, easy to understand. DON'T MAKE ME DRAW PICTURES
1) Android SDK
https://developer.an.../sdk/index.html
Download it and install it. I'll only describe it for Windows OS.
2) The correct ROM
https://download.cya.../?device=enrc2b
or from my CM-12.1/AOSP threads
Download it and open it with WinRAR or Winzip or just unpack the whole thing. Directly in the root folder you'll see a file called boot.img
3) USB Cable connection between the phone and your PC
Connect the device to your PC. On your phone go to settings and enable USB debugging.
Now you are ready to flash the boot image.
a) copy the boot.img to the same folder as fastboot
if you downloaded the package from above, you'll see a folder structure that is a bit overwhelming. Navigate to
C:\adt-bundle-windows-x86-20140702\sdk\platform-tools
and copy the file called boot.img from the ROM there.
B) open up the terminal
click on start and enter cmd.exe
enter the folder with
cd /
cd C:\adt-bundle-windows-x86-20140702\sdk\platform-tools
c) start the flashing
Now type:
adb reboot bootloader
or alternatively, restart your phone manually and press the buttons Power and Volume down until you see a white menu screen.
Now type:
fastboot devices
and you should see your phone
d) flash the boot.img
type:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
That's it, 3G and WiFi should work now. A more extensive How-To can be found here:

Any help would be appreciated.

It is hard-bricked. You have my tutorial for hardbrick around. If you are hardbricked like this you don't need to open your phone. Search the forums.

Sorry. I can longer assist you. I am not in this business anymore. I even sold the L7 II. If someone wants to continue the work i will make all research public and all the stuff I made and not released, after talking to @maxx_hr
EDIT: As I remember error 100 is related to not installing the c redistributable or smth like that. there is one more file (a msi) as i remember, that needs to be installed. Also run as Admin.
