hi guys. i've just flash a new miui rom on my o2x. and i found that the battery drain much faster than it was before. last night i had 14% of battery left on my phone, and this morning it shut down due to out of battery. so i pluged in my wall charger while my phone was off. and when it showed the green fully chargeed bar i disconnected the charger and boot my phone in to CWM recovery to wipe battery stats. then i reboot the phone into android and u know what? the phone show 100% of battery only in 3 secconds and then it show 1% left, please connect the charger. huh? what the f*** is going on? i connect the charger and the phone show that it's being charged? how can it charge a fully charged battery? and the charging speed is faster as light. it's has been charging about 15 mins now and it show 46% charged. may be google was wrong saying that batterystats.bin does not affect the measurement of battery level.
Seems to be a bug issue.
What i would do is reinstall the rom.
Wipe data, wipe cache, and wipe dalvik cache.
Make sure you wipe both at least 3 times then reinstall because sometime android doesnt get everything the first time.
If still fails flash a custom kernel.
These help adjust the phones hardware to correspond with the settings of your software.
good luck to you.

Well i woke up this monring, phone had been on all night charging, said 100%. Went into recovery and wiped battery stats, powered off, pulled the battery, re-installed battery, left it powered off to fully charge, well that was 4 hrs ago and this phone is still charging. Did i mess something up wiping the stats, never had an issue on my g1 or n1.
Thanks for the help.
yeah something is up with the battery i think or the counter for it or something... my phone always says its at 100% and as soon as I unplug it it drops down to 97 percent instantly. then I have to plug it back in for a little till it charges to about 98 percent then it'll jump to being full and yeah unplug and back down to 97 or 98
Yea i know what you mean...my friends does the same thing. But mine finally did reach 100% after 6 hrs of charging. Made it to 4217mv.
From what i have noticed, that is normal. My phone does it too, but after i pay more attention to it, I think it's the build in protection from over charging the battery. if I unplug the phone right after it's fully charged, it'll say 100%. If keep it plugged in, it'll still say 100% until I unplug it. Sometimes it'll say 99% or 98% depending on how long i left it plugged after it's fully charged. Once it gets down to ~97%, it'll start charging the phone back up to 100%. So, from my own observation of two vibrant phones, if you keep your phone plugged in over night, it'll stop charging once it hits 100% and starts charging when it goes down to ~97%.
im having a "similar" issue, I wiped battery a little bit ago and my battery icon stil says 100%, however I turned on GPS and have Avatar playing, and it is STILL at 100%, not sure if its just a really good battery or if something is wrong...
How do I get into the Advanced section to get the wipe battery option? I go to Rom Manager and select to reboot into recovery but I don't have the option to wipe the battery stats in recovery.
Here is something I noticed. Charge to 100% with the phone on. Then powerdown. The phone will continue to charge for another 20-30 mins and then say 100%. I really doubt that powering down the phone after a 100% charge will drain that much juice.
Hello last time when i was running Nessy#Fenice rom, my battery life was great, it could last for 4+ days without switching off my phone.
then one day i flashed another rom and wipe battery stats and the battery was no so great so i flashed back.
HOWEVER, i realised that the battery of the Nessy rom became horrible as well and was like dropping 2% every 30 mins! can someone help?
And also i would like to know which rom has the longest battery life? i only use 2g and occasionally 3g and i use my phone for texting and sometime go on wifi thats it thanks

Did you wipe the cache and the dalvik cache? After a rom flash, you should wipe the battery. Plug in your charger over night, next day you must have 100%, else you unplug for a second and charge again. The battery is full! Let the charger pluged in and reboot into recovery. Wipe the battery stats reboot and disconnected the charger. Now use your phone normally, run down to 5% and reload fully.
That's it.

If the ROM you are using is 2.3, then you can expect lower battery then on 2.2 while using 3G.
Install battery calibrator from market, charge to 100%, wipe battery stats and then use as normal. This should help a bit.
Not sure why, but I restarted my phone and it went from 50% down to 5 % power? Had it on the charger all night and it was still at 5%?? Took it off the charger for a few hours and im still at 5%. Tried wiping stats and had no luck? Any Help??

Drain all battery and charge it from zero. Let it be fully charged before starting it. If you run CWM you can wipe battery state.
Your question is in wrong section in the forum. Try starting the thread in General.
Cheers
+1 this -- and some additional detail...
Wiping battery stats does NOT improve actual battery life. If done properly, and coupled with a calibration cycle, it can increase the accuracy with which your battery reports its current charge. Ideal process is as follows..
Charge to 100%
Reboot into CWM
wipe battery stats under" advanced"
Reboot
Charge back to 100%
Let it DIE (go to 0%) from normal use, DO NOT charge it during the cycle
Re-charge to 100% and you're all recalibrated.
From the sound of it, don't be surprised if your phone sits at 5% for hours. After the calibration, your battery history should be a relatively smooth, downward sloping curve.

Check Settings>Battery Information>Battery Usage and see if a process named RILD is using a high percentage of your battery usage. That process - a very necessary Motorola radio daemon - is wreaking some havoc by causing very rapid battery discharge and also preventing normal charging.
No solution for you but thought I would let you know before you try too many different "solutions" needlessly.
Thanks!

Ok I made a mistake. One day after I installed a new rom,I wiped the battery stats, and the battery was around 40%,after that I had problems with the battery.I mean to make it charge to 100% I had to wait for even 3 days!
So I changed the rom,and wiped the battery stats again, when the battery was about 50%.
The problem is now,I can't make it to 100% to calibrate the battery.I mean my phone shows it's charging and after 2 hours,it didn't add at least 1% to the battery.
So,right now I can't get pass 45% battery, because (probably),the phone is set that is actually the max it can charge.
This might sound stupid but I have no other ideea. The phone shows it is charging, but after 2 hours it didn't charge at all.I tried plugging it into a computer,or a wall charger, the same, the phone remains at 41%.
Is there anything I can do?
Wiping battery stats has nothing to do with your problem.

Try this - Flash a new rom, but wipe the battery stats before that. Don't wipe stats again after flashing

Hey there,
hope you guys can help me out on this:
For about 3 weeks, my battery is going crazy. The statistics won't reset even after a 100% charge (see picture). Battery seems to drain way too fast. Sometimes, charging will get stuck at 66% or something (unplugging + plug back in doesn't help). Or it will jump from 89% to 100%, and will remain at 100% when the charger is unplugged, but jump back to 89% after a reboot.
Long story short: I think I need to reset something here. But I'm not entirely sure what else to try. I've erased the batterystats.bin using the Battery Calibration app multiple times. I've tried to do a battery wipe in recovery mode, but my CWM doesn't show that option. I've done several 100% to 0% to 100% complete charge cycles. Even bought a new battery. Without any effect. Kind of clueless
Running Cyanogen 10.2 on Galaxy S2
Glad for any help!! Thanks!
