Having trouble getting HDMI out to work with an DVI monitor.
PHONE>micro hdmi>HDMI/DVI converter>monitor.
Phone reports HDMI enabled. Monitor just flashes black screen over and over again. Then I get an error message stating there is a possible bad connection or HDCP issue.
Anyone have any ideas? This same setup worked with my previous moto atrix.
try changing the tv-out mode in the service menu->service tests->tv-out once connected

No go. But got me more info:
HDP Status: H
RSEN Status: L
TMDS status: off
HDCP status: off
CEC status: CEC off
And no EDID reading...
Tried this with another monitor with dvi input which worked and all of these were on with EDID value present.
Did some more digging and found out that the monitor I am trying to use (dell 1907FP) does not support HDCP.
I am sure this is the problem now.
I have seen the ability to disable HDCP in other roms. Does anyone know how to accomplish this? I have scoured google and xda forums and have seen similar issues but no good resolutions.

If you are looking for wireless mirroring then you will need one of these.
AllShare Cast Wireless Hub
Otherwise, you can use a MHL adapter for wired mirroring.
MHL Adpater

Theoretically then it should work unless there is some incompatibility. Don't have personal experience of the same, so I suppose you will have to wait for a response from someone who has tried out screen mirroring using the S3.
Same problem here
Hi, maybe it's too late for an useful answer, but... the "Screen Mirroring" works on Sony TVs, and without the all-share cast dongle!
I have a Sony W6 (2013), connected via WiFi.
With stock rom 4.3 just connect the S3 to the same network, turn on screen mirroring on the phone and the Screen Mirroring should star automatically!
But screen mirroring doesn't work with a modded rom, in that case will appear the message "unable to start screen mirroring because of a hardware issue". Maybe the flash counter must be "0"... I don't know if there's a way to use this functionality with a modded rom.
I have problem with MHL HDMI. When i connect it right, it shows no signal on tv, but on tablet it shows information about MHL, but it resets like someone keep connect and disconnect it. It may be wrong cable problem or settings or maybe root issue?
Is it possible to output display of an Android device through USB? Let say the this Android device doesn't have a screen (just like any Android media player where it uses HDMI for display output) but now I want to use USB for display output. Is it possible? If so, could you give me some information link?

Not an option. The USB protocols don't allow for something like that
Hi,
I have a BQ Aquaris E6 with a broken screen (only a black screen is shown).
I need to access the device to save some data and, if possible, to control it from a pc in the future.
The mobile seems to react to the digitiser based on the sounds. It looks like that only the display is broken and I could still control the device.
The device still receive notifications from different apps.
WiFi is enabled and it automatically connects to my home WiFi network.
Unfortunately, no developer options were enabled, no USB debug enabled and impossible to use adb solution will work. (If someone told me how to remotely enabled...it would be amazing!)
The only solution I thought was to use the MHL connection to enable the USB debugging options by duplicating the screen and controlling it with a TV when I touch the display.
I bought a MHL-HDMI cable but TV does not react at all after connection. I thought immediate screen duplication would happen but it is not the case...
Could anyone give a feasible solution to access the device?
Thank you very much in advance.

According to the spec sheet, it does not appear to support any video out format. With out USB Debugging enabled, there's really nothing else that you could do beyond getting the LCD fixed.

First of all, thank you very much for your reply.
I had a look to the link and it is true there is no mention to any video output format. But I know it has MHL connection since other people were able to connect it through the MHL connection to a TV.
There are some websites where the MHL is also mentioned (no way to paste links because I am new...shame...)
Any idea about how could I enable the USB debugging with a working touchscreen but blinded?
Any way to send a piece of code to do it?
Looks like you are right about the MHL. I should have researched further. Not sure if there's a setting on the phone that you might need to do before it outputs the stream. Either way, I do not know of a solution that would work in this situation.
Other than getting a new screen connected to it...

Hello guys ive been searching through a lot of threads here regarding poco f1 HDMI support can anyone here confirm or have use it . i have a adapter for HDMI to USB type C but it seems it doesnt work and nothing pops up on my screen also used an app that checks hdmi out and i dont no it has accurate results some apps says it support and some dont so i'm probably thinking if it was kernel related or rom related. im trying to use a capture card on my device to record videos thats why im very curious if anyone here have tried it or use this setup right now. Thank you very much
The Pocophone F1 does not support MHL at the hardware level. No ROM can change that.
Also, since it is USB 2.0, it does not support DP alternate mode.
Your only option is to use Miracast. It works well in mine.
