I noticed that when you're in the dialer and you click on a contact (in the keypad section) you cannot slide left to text, or right to call; but you can do this with the other tabs (Logs, Favorites, Contacts). Is there a way to fix this? It seems kind of odd to not include that function on the dial pad itself.
Because you have the call button on the bottom, I really don't think you need IMO is nice in the contacts tho

It's not broke so it's un-fixable. Like 2nd post, you do have the buttons there. Lol.

Has anyone found an answer to this issue? I have ICS on Verizon GNex and would like to at least be able to customize the direct dial icons so I can distinguish them.
Thanks,
Steven
I use gingerbean, and bamf before that, and each time it has been my contact's contact pic with a little phone icon on the bottom corner. Stupid question, but do u have a pic selected for the contact ur trying to make a direct dial for?

I'm using SHIFTAO5P HACK3D which utilizes ADW. I just tried it out and after creating the direct dial on my home screen i simply long-pressed it, chose "edit" and tapped the icon in the edit menu. it let me choose from other icons on my phone and from pictures on my phone with an ability to crop. Hope this helps.
I miss the ability that I had on the TP2 to hit the letter on the right and see all contacts that began with that letter. Any way to do this on Evo 3d? I hate having to scroll the entire list!

when you start scrolling the list of contacts, a small slider bar will appear on the right hand side. touch and hold on the slider bar and as you move it down/up it will flash the letter for the contacts in that section.
pretty close to the same functionality, only you have to start scrolling for it to appear.
hope that helps!

A fast way is to install googles "gesture search".... Can be found on the market.
Or simply open the phone and start typing the name, there is no need to open the contacts for making a phone call

Anyone out there have a docking station for their X2?
I've noticed that whenever in the dock and the middle of a phone call if you need to bring up the dial pad it shows up behind the button at the bottom. Before the phone call, the dial pad is off to the left hand side you get to dial your numbers. It's once your connected if you need to bring it back up to enter digits.
This is only happening when in landscape mode, which of course is most of the time when using a dock.
I think that's probably my number 1 problem. Yank it out of the dock, flip it right side up, use the dial pad, put it back in the dock...

Same thing here. The dialer is behind the End Call and other buttons.
I don't think this is to crazy, thinking back on the blur Roms the pad was smaller or off to the side. Actually, when you start to dial, the dialer is off on the side, if it were kept that way, problem solved.
Wonder what other cm7's look like.

Looking for dialers on the market. I really don't want to do that. Looks like they're all in Chinese!
Edit: not worth it. I'll just remove from the dock when I need to enter additional digits.

Never thought about this before but if you hold the "4square" option button (all the way to the left), the keyboard pops up, you can select the number keys from there and get your DTMF.
What's that button really called?
Hello so I have started to hate the feature where you are in the contacts list and sliding left calls and right sends a message. Sometimes when I am sliding down to find a contact I accidentally slide left and it calls someone I don't intend to call. It seems if you don't perfectly slide your finger down vertically it will do the message/call function. Is there a way to change the sensitivity on this feature?
So i guess it's not possible

I constantly find that my text was never sent because I missed the very small send button on my keyboard... I sometimes have to tap the area 2 or 3 times to make sure it registers and sends. I haven't had this problem with any other phones in the past. I think it has something to do with the send button being located so close to the curved edge. Has anyone else had this issue? Have you found a solution? Thanks in advance.
Weird, I use the standard messenging app and it's a paper dart looking icon not on the keyboard to send. Maybe you can look into a different app or keyboard layout even.
