Anyone else having trouble getting their desktop chrome bookmarks to sync automatically with their sgs3???
I haven't been able to get my bookmarks to sync since I got this phone and its driving me nuts. I've checked most if not all settings on my phone and the desktop browser and can't figure it out
Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated

so you have signed in on your desktop browser, aka you see a section called other devices when you open a new tab? Is this the first device that you have tried to sync with?
Assuming you're signed in to chrome, in your desktop chrome app under the settings menu click on "Signed in as......"
Then under "Sign In" click on "Advanced sync settings..."
Under "Chose what to sync" make sure "Bookmarks" and "Open Tabs" are selected.
That should do it. In Chrome on your phone under "Bookmarks" there should be folders for the bookmarks on your desktop.
Nope, mine synced up fine

This is not my first time syncing chrome bookmarks with my android device. I've owned quite a few android devices and always had bookmarks automatically synced. That's part of the reason why I'm so confused about why it's not working now. I haven't changed any settings. :crying:
I do see "other devices" when I open a new tab and I verified those settings

Thanks for the suggestion. I almost forgot where to find the settings for this because it's been so long since I've made any changes to them. I verified they are correct.
I had a GSM Galaxy Nexus, and a HTC One X and sync worked just fine on those devices.
I did just noticed under "accounts and sync" that for some reason "Sync Internet" has a red exclamation saying that sync is having problems. I've been into "accounts and sync" settings many times before and today is the first time I've seen this since I got the phone on 6/25.
For anyone else that may be having this same issue with the native browser, I found a fix.
I went to settings, accounts and sync, selected my gmail account, and unchecked "sync internet". Then I went to "manage apps" in settings and selected "clear data" so my browser could start like a fresh install. After clearing data I went back to account and sync and checked "sync internet" again and all is well.
I'm not really sure what initially created this problem for me, but glad it's fixed

Is there anyway to use any calendar related features on the Atrix without it syncing to Google? I've searched the internet for answers, searched the device for settings...and I always get the same result. Under Settings > Accounts > Other Accounts heading > "My Google Gmail account" the tick box next to Sync Calendar is UN-ticked. Yet, no matter what calendar app I use, eventually everything shows up online in Google calendars. So I go back and check the tick box and its still cleared. I put a test event online in Google calendars, and in less than a minute it's on my phone. Is there a setting I'm overlooking here?
thanks
Have you tried Calendar(app)>menu>more>calendars ?

Yes, but If I 'un-sync' it there, the whole calendar disappears from phone. I want to use the calendar on my phone, but not have it sync to Google. There's only 3 options there, but not a 'Visible, not synced' option. Only 'not synced, not visible'. The only way i can stop it from going to Google is turn on Airplane mode, but that's pretty pointless, and it just syncs as soon as I turn it off. It doesn't appear that sync settings under accounts do anything on my phone. This is my first Android device, so maybe that's just how it is?
I'm having some issues with the stock browser's boomarks. First they won't sync with my chrome bookmarks even though it's selected in the browser settings and account setting for my gmail shows browser syncing. Also when manually adding bookmarks they don't show up in the app itself, only on the widget.
Anyone know how i can get my bookmarks to work?
Same here. Would like to know. Mind you ICS is here soon

It is a known bug that Google has decided not to fix in Honeycomb for whatever reason:
http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Chrome/thread?tid=63eebdb9d371658d&hl=en
You can use Opera Mobile instead which has "Opera Link" feature which syncs bookmarks OR use Chromemarks from the market. Hopefully ICS will fix it or I will be very upset.
Got the ICS update on my Prime and instead of fixing the bookmark sync, they removed it completely. Boo Google!
No they didn't. Click your account name at the top of the bookmark screen, and your synced bookmarks will drop down. I swear, you people will complain about anything.

Was going to thank you but instead I think I will complain about your last sentence! lol
Accounts Sync settings shows "Sync Browser" is not syncing up. The last sync date as 7/12/2012 (sometime in the future). Every time I manually start a sync I get the message: "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly" but only for Sync Browser.

I think I fixed mine. Stop the sync from the tablet. Then in Chrome on the desktop, go to options then click go to dashboard. Find Chrome Sync and choose to Stop sync and delete data from Google. Refresh the page until that is done. Then go to tablet and enable sync again. Then go back to Chrome on desktop and sign in to start sync again.

Thanx a lot mate!! I used to think that bookmark sync was a honeycomb problem on my Xoom, but after getting ICS tonight, discovered that only your post would do the trick! Thanx again!
I recently got a HTC One X and noticed that there was an error syncing with my google account. When I checked it out, my "Sync Internet" is failing. Then I remembered that on my Logitech Revue with Honeycomb had the same issue.
What exactly is "Sync Internet" and how come it is failing on more than one device? Is there a way to fix this?
anyone?
I think that its just trying to sync your browser (bookmarks, etc.).
As for fixing it - I don't have any terribly deep insight. Try disabling it and re-enabling it. Do you need your browser settings synced?
I don't need it synced but since the error happened across two different devices, i wanted to know what it could be
I am afraid I don’t trust any web storage space. I prefer to some Android PC Managers such as AirDroid. Or another one Moborobo, it has the backup and restore feature. Both are free! Worth of try!

hi manage to find solution for this? i have re flash my rom just want to correct the problem but it still not working. perhaps is there any log that we can check why it is not connecting?
Same problem here. After reflashing my phone yesterday (due to slowdowns and hanging apps) I noticed that sync of Google account is constantly failing. The reason is sync of Internet. No specific error is reported, other items are synced OK. I have Samsung Galaxy S II 4.0.3 ICS. Before it was OK.

its the sync settings in chrome!
In google chrome settings via a computer, There is a hyperlink to google dashboard. Go there and down to Chrome Sync, Reset and delete chrome data. Then in Chrome settings reset sync and do NOT set it to "encrypt all data" just use the fist option "encrypt with password",
Problem fixed.
It isn't syncing and has never synced since I got the EVO LTE.
Whats up with this?
I want my bookmarks from Chrome =(
Does anyone have theirs syncing?
Also, I am meaning for Stock HTC browser (not Chrome beta)

I had this problem too I had to clear my chrome sync data on my Google account clear the data on the Internet app and then sign in and out of chrome. Make sure you are only encrypting your passwords in chrome.

I will try this. Thanks for the suggestion

Oh fantastic!
It worked.
For anyone else who stumbles across this thread, what I did was...
In google chrome settings via a computer, There is a hyperlink to google dashboard. Go there and down to Chrome Sync, I reset and deleted chrome data. (Don't worry, it doesn't delete your bookmarks, picasa, or gmail). Then it reset Chrome so that it was not "encrypt all data" and instead is now "encrypt with password", like you said.
Problem fixed.
Thank you so much!
Is it possible to sync both my personal laptop and work PC to chrome? I have my laptop syncing to my primary gmail account and my work PC to my secondary gmail. Can I sync both computers to the same gmail and maintain separate, unique settings for each?

In chrome settings, disable syncing to whichever account you want to let go. Then sign back in with the correct account.
Then, under the syncing options, you can chose what exactly to sync; Browsing history, extensions, bookmarks, etc.
So, yes.

If I am understanding correctly, I can sign into both machines using a single email (gmail account) and they will both stay synced separately? Just want to make sure I'm retaining all of my synced settings for both machines. Thanks for the clarification.
What I don't like about this is that it merges all bookmarks and items in the bookmark bar. I wish it would keep them separate by device. Not practical with the work computer...

Worked perfectly. Thank you.
fixed finally
On my sensation it seems that "reset Chrome so that it was not "encrypt all data" and instead is now "encrypt password" is what repaired my "internet sync" problem.
Thank you!

This worked for me too! I previously had had chrome. Had to get a new galaxy 3. I redownloaded chrome on the new phone and deleted sync data from my desktop then signed back in to chrome on desktop as well . Went back to my phone and hit sync internet and it worked.
I've had the same problem on my SGS3 so I decided to look it up on here. The fix is fine and all, but what exactly does syncing "Internet" do anyway?
Android and Desktop Chrome Sync
I know this is a little old, but I found this thread after having sync problems as well. So I thought I'd post the fix.
I assume you are using chrome on both devices.
you can have encryption on everything and still sync across devices, but you have to have the encryption set the same on both, and use either the passphrase or the google account option, but again it must be the same on both (all?) devices.
I failed to change the setting on my phone when on my desktop browser I reset syncing to encrypt everything, not just passwords.
On your chrome browser for android go into "settings" then tap account name at top then "sync" then "encryption" then match whatever you did on the desktop, and everything should work again.
there's really no reason not to encrypt everything IMHO

Tell your work computer not to sync certain things. like bookmarks. It's how I have mine set up. I sync everything except bookmarks and extensions
Swyped on my EVO LTE
I still want to know what syncing "Internet" actually does.
Had this problem on both my GS2 and my HTC ONE.
Only thing that worked was going to "Google Dashboard" from your computer web browser
Find "Chrome Sync", and click on "Stop sync and delete data from Google"
Refresh your Internet Sync on your Android.

I only use the stock browser, so I wouldn't know, but any browser that syncs with your google account will have the same issue.
for me the issue is slightly different.
my google account bookmarks syncs well on chrome pc and chrome and chrome beta on my android devices (2tabs and phone)...
but it doesn't work for stock browser on any of them. stock browser doesn't sync with server from a month.
already tried to reset data on server...and tried to disactivate and restart syncing on each device. nothing worked.
i set to encrypt only passwords..
help
Hello,
I own Samsung Galaxy S3 (GT-I9300) 4.1.2 with a root enabled. I've noticed that my Google account sync settings may suddenly reset. For example, I go Settings - Accounts - Google - <my account> and tick "Sync Calendar", "Sync Contacts", "Sync Gmail". Then I press "Sync now". Everything is ok so far. Now I can do my business, switching between applications, browsing, reading. If I then decide to check the Sync settings, everything will be ok, everything that I checked before stay checked. Even shutting down the phone and turning it on will keep these settings intact. At least, for the first check. The second or the third check already shows me that only "Sync Contacts" is enabled, but Calendar and Gmail are off.
What the heck?! Does anybody know what's wrong with my Android?
It's not the problem anymore I've realized what is responsible for that. It's Juice Defender app. Good app, I just didn't get the full understanding of one of its feature called AutoSync. Sorry for that.
