It's replacing framework-res.apk with modified CM9 one, it can't work. But if OP can share how he did that, I will try to fix it in next AOKP build

Is there a solution for the backlight keyboard for CM7.2?
I think my battery drain problem is the backlight, but I'm not really sure either.
I have an SK17i, CM7.2 using the kernel that comes with the rom.
Sorry about my bad english, and also I'm a noob on this, CM was the first custom rom I installed on my phone XD
Thanks in advance!

I do not understand what you mean, this is to enable the lights and I have understood that in cm 7.2, everything works to perfection? if it is to disable the lights you can use the following app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.deskangel.kblight&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5kZXNrYW5nZWwua2JsaWdodCJd

Changing some values in framework-res.apk will work only until next release... Can you tell me what have you done to fix that? I'll try to include it in KXP repo.
Decompile the framework-res and set in values/bools.xml the

"
to false. And then the keyboard and soft keys light should work.
waw, good job guys. I'll try to fix existing bugs in my rom that I ported. and based his equal, cm9 too. this just change string at bools.xml?

yes friends.
I tried flashing the zip file via cwm and my device ended up with no backlight at all. Though the keyboard backlight is on. I tried flashing other custom kernel just to get the screen back up but nothing worked. Even tried to flash kernel from my original cm9.1 but no success.
Then I tried flashing with a 4.0.2 stock rom (I know, stupid) thinking that the original rom might be able to solve my problem, now I'm stuck with an unrooted gingerbread and no way (at least the methods that I know) to fix my phone.
now with the stock GB I have, I can't root it, I can hear calls and alerts but I can't pick it up because the screen doesn't light up.
I really don't know what to do now.
I'm using Xperia Mini Pro Sk17i

CM10 home button ST17i behaviour

I have FXP133 CM10 from FreeXperia Project installed on my ST17i Satsuma.
I have so far really enjoyed this ROM.
Strangely, the capacitive home button selects the top thing on the screen, rather than taking me to the launcher.
Is this a feature or a bug? If its a feature, what is the reasoning behind it?
Cheers,
Berny748
Fixed
I fixed it by editing the key layout file Generic.kl
Apparently, CM10 134 has this fixed anyway.
Cheers,
Berny

Flash FXP134 CM10, there it should be fixed. Or you flash the Cm10 Alpha by Expeacer , which is very great!

Flashed 134, but can't confirm if it is fixed in 134 without modification because editing the key layout file fixed it in 133 and I don't want to wipe everything to test.

[Q] On-Screen buttons on ginger bread?

Hey guys,
I've been using different ICS roms on my xepria x10 with the On-screen button patch provided here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=29816033&postcount=372
I was wondering if someone knows how to use these on a gingerbread Rom, I've tried the button saviour app but I wasn't satisfied. ICS Roms are too unstable for daily use. I am going to install this Rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1829595.
Please if someone has been successful to use the buttons on GB based Rom than help me out.
Bump!

[REQUEST] Xperia Mini Pro Stock Keyboard application

I know there are other thread with this request, but nobody wants to solve the problem, and other people wants this to be fixed so: can anybody provide a flashable zip containing the XPERIA MINI PRO stock keyboard including the correct HARDWARE keyboard layout? I want to use it with CM10 Or just tell me what files i need? What are the files used by the stock keyboard? I cant believe that it is impossible to do it in CM10. In IT nothing is impossible! So who one can help me?
This phone - XPERIA MINI PRO - get this name (PRO) because it has physical keyboard...and it is useless with these roms because dont work properly. So i dont understand why didnt anybody do it at the first times. :crying:
AND: I tried the "XPERIA S KEYBOARD" which is a flashable zip, and works perfect as far as you use the ONSCREEN keyboard, but nothing changes when you use the physical one. So i think only 1-2 files can make it work on CM10: onscreen keyboard works -> hardware keyboard SHOULD work Am I right?
Thank you!
sutyi

Thank you, but it isn't what i am searching for
Here is xperia mini pro keyboard I use in custom roms, it worked for many of them :
ul.to/5yq7mldc
(Sorry I can't post a link because I don't have 10 posts yet, boring rule )
If you need a french layout for the keyboard, you'll have to modify file /system/usr/keyboard-config/keyprint.xml and replace qwerty-en by azerty in the latin section.
Does'nt work for me with CyanogenMod 10...
I've the same problem. Therefore, I created my own update, taken form original ICS 431. So you'll get your 'sym' button work. Flash it using CWM.

I tried it on CyanogenMod 10 (FreeXperia version number 213), but the keyboard continuously crashes.. I installed it with the recovery (flash .zip) after installing the rom and the gapps, before wiping data and cache. Did I do something wrong?
Thank you
Hey, I'm looking for this. Is this solved yet? Which answer is best?

Sk17i SYM button + MIUI

Hi all, in about 2 years i've tried 3 MIUI roms, now i want to ask you all a question:
is there a MIUI rom where the FU**ING sym button works on the hardware keyboard of the SK17i??? god i love MIUI but sym button and dictionary suggestions never works on sk17i, starting to hate this thing, i don't know anything about developement but at this point i think there'll NEVER be fixed, am i right?
Hmmm.... ExMiUi by Expeacer....
currently i'm on it, sym button not working, also, virtual keyboard doesn't popup at all (with slide closed)

original still available but not on the latest version....you can find it HERE....
use v2.9.29 or v2.10.12...i prefer v2.9.29 cause it the most stable version...
can't find link to previous versions, the lastest doesn't boot at all...
5 different miui roms, none with working sym button, i've tried even changing kernel (from rage to kernelpanic)
i guess i'll just give up.... the thing that bugs me it's that "everything works!!" in those rom topics....
